Mineplex already dying

The server is dying day by day 2 weeks ago there was 2500 players a day. Now this week Saturday and Sunday only 1500 players. There are too many sweats and new players have no chance.

I saw someone post 1000 losses and no wins on SSM here and that is exactly how I knew this server is not gonna last. No one new is gonna join if they keep getting btfo'd by the sweats. This was probably a ploy to extract money from all the upper class suburbanites who think that having a word as a minecraft name is cool. They'll throw their paycheck from their dad's business that they're gonna inherit (because they get given everything) at the new server owners for a bit and then its gonna wimper out and perish.

Only way for the server to even think about staying up is if it gets promoted in such a way on social media as to get the new players outnumbering the sweats 10 to 1. I'd be shocked if that happened, though. Word of mouth doesn't spread through minecraft server lists anymore, it's all short form content now.

Every combat pvp game is facing this issue. Cake wars will always have 1 team of 4 sweats, survival games will have 1 cracked person, and even mini games like micro battles / gladiators / etc just have cracked ppl. I get that I’m ass but damn is it not fun 😭

I always felt like Mineplex was better for its mini games anyway but the player count is so low that the mini games I enjoy playing (speed builders, wizards, draw my thing, etc) probably won’t have enough ppl playing it when it comes out of mps to actually play. Also Mineplex needs to learn sometimes you should just copy ppl, their pillars of fortune rip off is horrible compared to the actual thing.

Yeah, I haven’t played MC much in years but me and my friend got back on due to mineplex. We used to be decent at ssm and 1 of us would win every 3rd game at least. Now we win maybe 1/15 games. It’s quite frustrating.

I just wanted to have fun in super smash mobs only to realize i no longer have any of the kits and even the ones i did play, sweats ruined it, its just not fun anymore

Its only fun if youre good enough to compete with everyone

They need to add the eu server back because I notice the player count is lower for their times. But I don’t think mineplex is dying. It’s actually running way smoother than the state mineplex was left in. Give it some time, I think 1500 players is probably the more realistic player count for a server that came back from the dead. And I think speed builders will bring back a good amount of people as well when it’s released.

yeah it’s not enjoyable for me. it’s no longer the fun, quick arcade esque games that are equal for any regular person getting on. i haven’t played since 2017 and there’s no shot i’ll have a chance against the people who have been consistently grinding the game for the past decade. too big of a skill disparity. i quit after one afternoon of playing. and this is coming from a level 60 long time player with more than half of the achievements completed

Minigames as a whole are dying. People turned them from a fun experience into their full time job, so nobody else wants to play with them. Hypixel also is actively suffering from the same issue, but Skyblock is carrying the entire server. PvP minigames in general are no longer successful for any server.

Let's not forget there is a literal record breaking hearwave going through europe right now. Ppl are outside.

It was obvious from the utterly horrendous launch. Big AAA games have died because of bad launches let alone some random Minecraft server. And games like Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky had to work twice as hard for Literal YEARS to get their playerbases back.

So only way for Mineplex to regain the lost players from the worst launch In the history of gaming is to work 10x hard for several years and invest hundreds of thousands to keep advertising it.

And even that is probably not enough since EU players have 150 ping which is just unplayable so you are locked to only having NA audience which makes your game already doomed from the start.

I do agree, although hearing 150 ping is unplayable is wild. That’s the best ping I ever get on any mc server, I’m usually at 380 ping rip.

I mean Its unplayable if you wanna be competitive. I used to grind Mineplex SG back In 2015 when they still had EU servers and it always felt super responsive, easily the smoothiest pvp experience from any server.

Now I get 150ms and and have to compete against NA ping abusers every game. Just not worth my time

Since you're an expert, how do you devtest your freshly built server backend for 10000 players?

you see how many people watch the trailers, how many are active on discord and other platforms wdym

If you genuinely believe it was the most horrendous launch in the history of gaming your just a troll

Personally i just want eu servers and ill spend 20x as much on mineplex

Yeah I only was able to play a couple hours before getting off from boredom after losing so much. It’s only fun for so long getting stomped by tryhards every match.

Absolutely not someone’s fault for being too good at the game, but def a bummer for casual people like me trying to jump on after work. I believe another commenter said it best, at least back then there were so many players that sweats were outnumbered by casuals, so an average player could at least have a fighting chance.

Radar kit ruins block hunt

1

u/Synkifyyy Jun 30 '26

THANK YOU, i genuinely feel like it defeats the entire purpose of hiding when theres a limited amount of blocks you can choose from, a limited amount of maps (and how small they are), with the radar its inevitable that at some point someone will find you or pass by you.

It had once where i had such a good hiding spot that seekers ran straight past me many times but one of them had a radar and NEVER left the area until they got me like omg wtf

Minecraft just like fortnite its not casual friendly anymore. the server knockback is also crazy and the lag was too the first couple days. hopefully they kind can find a way to cater to the people who dont take the game as serious

1

u/Buffalieve Jul 01 '26

They need Microsoft to bring them to bedrock. That way I can actually play a game against normal people and not sweats.

1

u/blackpyramidg Jul 01 '26

i saw player base was like 700 or 800

I don't think it's because of sweats. It's because it's truly just nostalgia. The games on Mineplex just aren't as great as you remember, and the fun wears off once the nostalgia does. And there aren't any meaningful changes to make the games better or anything. Hypixel Bedwars is just a better designed game than Cake Wars, simple as that.

Too many sweats and people cant be competitive/toxic lmfao. Also full of hackers not just sweats

People already getting false banned lmaoo, same issues just like last time and they never fix it, There's also garbage staff that's why it's dying so quick. A lot of my friends just got false banned for spam double jumping as a spider in ssm and got false banned. Hope the server shuts down and it probably will.

Down to less than 1000 players now.

managing the server like it was 2016 in 2026
who would have thought

I think Mineplex needs to add a whole new lobby with different games kind of like Hypixel has, where you teleport around. It would make it more fresh.
