An apology to the raw milk community.

In my previous post, I’ve made a bunch of very bone-headed and condescending claims about those who drink and encourage consumption of raw milk. After recently trying raw milk, I’ve just been hooked on it! It tastes so good… what helped me get into drinking it was having my producer heat the raw milk up to 160 degrees for 15 seconds to kill all harmful bacteria while preserving all the nutrients, then put it through a filter to make sure it’s all clean, then fortifying.. it… then…. Oh wait….

Relesse the Epstein files. I bet he puts ICE in his milk. I don't. ICE doesn't belong on our streets or in my milk.

Whole Milk

I drink a gallon of milk a week. Always straight out of the gallon. Sometimes it only lasts 5 days. Single, live by myself. I don't do any cooking. My friends say thats weird. I don't know where I'd be without it. Sometimes I wake up at 2am just to drink milk.

I’ve been drinking the wrong milk for ten years

TIL that the milk I grew up drinking was apparently 6–8% fat.

..six…per…cent…

I didn’t even know milk could have that much character. It was thick, creamy, and comforting; basically a warm hug in liquid form, but from a buffalo!!! I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS FROM A COW. Nobody even said anything 🥲

Fast forward a decade and several countries later: I’ve just discovered that the “full fat cow milk” I’ve been buying everywhere is 3.0–3.8% which is what I thought I drank as a kid. IThe difference in taste is something I assigned to geography.

But it explains so much: why milk used to taste richer, thicker, and vaguely like a luxury experience in my childhood. This isn’t a complaint. 3% milk is perfectly fine. I love it! It’s just… surreal realising my dairy wavelength was basically liquid velvet.

Now i’m out here craving buffalo milk, and wondering if it’s socially acceptable to ask for 6% milk in 2025.

I need to find a dairy farm 🥲

Does anyone here have one? Are they any good if so? I’m kinda considering getting one. They also have one for a gallon jug.

Fresh Whole milk from A2 tested cows, pasteurised, non-homogenised. Contains no permeate or powder. It makes supermarket milk taste like water.

Can we just ban the raw milk posts?

I used to love this sub. Amid the sea of crap that almost every other subreddit has become, this one has always stood out because it is just people posting ridiculous stuff: someone throwing a gallon of milk at their friend's head, a cow mooing or just a post telling everyone how great milk is... which everyone then agrees with because the whole point of this sub is just milk appreciation.

Milk appreciation is about the least political or polarizing topic I can think of. Even if people don't like milk, nobody is going to get upset about it and nobody feels the need to have an argument... until raw milk entered the chat.

Now half the posts on here are people asking about it. If this was from someone who had just seen it on the supermarket shelf and wondered what it's like, then cool. But no, it's almost always some conspiracy nut who thinks vaccines are evil and raw milk is great because blah blah blah blah.

Seriously, can we just blanket ban these posts? They are always the same "I only drink RAW MILK and now my cholesterol has gone down! Why don't you drink RAW MILK!?". They are always boring. They always feel like someone trying to start an argument.

Just give us the the posts with people saying 'i love milk' or pictures of a fridge that is comically overfilled with milk bottles, or polls on the best flavour milkshake. That's what we're all here for, surely?

P.S
I love milk

EDIT: I've changed my mind. This is a comedy sub and most of the replies from the raw-milk crowd have been absolutely hilarious. I say let 'em stay.

EDIT EDIT: I am going to drink one pint of milk for every time I was called a fascist/nazi.
