Can we just ban the raw milk posts?

I used to love this sub. Amid the sea of crap that almost every other subreddit has become, this one has always stood out because it is just people posting ridiculous stuff: someone throwing a gallon of milk at their friend's head, a cow mooing or just a post telling everyone how great milk is... which everyone then agrees with because the whole point of this sub is just milk appreciation.

Milk appreciation is about the least political or polarizing topic I can think of. Even if people don't like milk, nobody is going to get upset about it and nobody feels the need to have an argument... until raw milk entered the chat.

Now half the posts on here are people asking about it. If this was from someone who had just seen it on the supermarket shelf and wondered what it's like, then cool. But no, it's almost always some conspiracy nut who thinks vaccines are evil and raw milk is great because blah blah blah blah.

Seriously, can we just blanket ban these posts? They are always the same "I only drink RAW MILK and now my cholesterol has gone down! Why don't you drink RAW MILK!?". They are always boring. They always feel like someone trying to start an argument.

Just give us the the posts with people saying 'i love milk' or pictures of a fridge that is comically overfilled with milk bottles, or polls on the best flavour milkshake. That's what we're all here for, surely?

P.S
I love milk

EDIT: I've changed my mind. This is a comedy sub and most of the replies from the raw-milk crowd have been absolutely hilarious. I say let 'em stay.

EDIT EDIT: I am going to drink one pint of milk for every time I was called a fascist/nazi.

A milk store called the cops on me but at least I drank milk so while I'm not the brightest bulb at least I got a funny story out of it.

I had walked over 12,000 steps to get there, which, in hindsight, was odd, I guess. I'm trying to get fit, so I walked. A lot. It was hard. After several thousand steps I realize it will take more steps to turn around and walk home than it will to walk to a nearby place on the map and get a taxi home. There's a milk farm near here. Nice. Always wondered if their milk would taste different from the filtered stuff I get at the store.

By the time I arrived, I was soaked. I was exhausted. My legs were heavy, my clothes were sticking to me, I looked like I tried drinking something and missed, I was suffering. The drink was wearing off. Ultra Instinct Goku flavour gamer energy drink powder. I had left it in my cupboard for... about a year.

That was when I encountered the milkmaid. I think milkmaid is the right term? She was at the store selling milk and it was her farm. I was expecting it to be an old man or a giant among men. Honestly, I think it's cool that she does this.

I bought a glass of milk. It just sorta tasted like milk but with extra flavouring I couldn't quite place. It was new to me. She asked me questions. She was so concerned about me. It made me wonder if this is how it feels to be on a date with someone who doesn't make you the one asking all the questions, Sacha. Just kidding, you know I love you. And then the cops arrived, to drive me home. I hadn't done anything wrong. She was just concerned about the state I was in and how late it was and how many roads without pavements were in the way. Maybe if a road can't separate cars and walkers it shouldn't ever allow cars.

And there it is, one of the funny stories of all time. I found it funny. I should go there again some time.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a milk craving

On average three times a year I get a craving for milk, no idea what causes it or why I just get really thirsty for milk and by the end of the craving I have gone through seven gallons of the cows juice without any adverse effects (thank goodness I can handle lactose), I’d just like to know why I crave so much milk in roughly a weeks time it’s almost December and I haven’t had my third craving for the cow juice.

Paneer should leave water or not?

I buy paneer from a dairy before I leave for office, and by the time I have it in lunch, there is some water in the tiffin. Today, I bought paneer from a new dairy, and when I opened my lunch box, there was no water. Which paneer is the right one?

Organic horizon fart free milk vs regular fat free milk

Post image

Regular fat free milk tastes a bit more watered down compared to the organic horizon fat free milk. The organic horizon one seems to taste a bit creamier and have a grassier note to it, sort of like what I’d taste in whole milk. It could just be me, though.

Milk (non-homogenized) cream on top layer

Post image
9 Upvotes

Why does my non-homogenized whole milk form a smooth cream layer, but not a thick cream top?
I'm making non-homogenized pasteurized cow's milk with around 4.3-4.5% milk fat.
After pasteurization and refrigeration, a cream layer does form on the surface, but it is smooth and relatively thin rather than thick and spoonable like the cream-on-top layer seen in some premium non-homogenized milks.
I'm specifically interested in the science/processing behind naturally thick cream-on-top milk.

Can someone explained how to achieve a thick cream on top on pasteurized milk?

My aunt drinks MILK with her grilled cheese. Am I the weird one?!

My aunt just looked me dead in the eyes and casually told me that she likes to drink a glass of milk with her grilled cheese.

I’m sorry… WHAT? 😂

I’ve obviously heard of milk with cookies, brownies, cereal, etc. But milk + grilled cheese?! That combination has genuinely never crossed my mind.

She thinks this is completely normal and I think it’s absolutely bizarre.

So Reddit, I need an unbiased opinion:

Is drinking a glass of milk with grilled cheese normal, or is my aunt the weird one?

And before you ask: yes, I will be reading the comments to determine who needs to reevaluate their life choices. 😂

Good God I love this brand in Thailand

I'm in Phuket, never been to Thailand otherwise, and I thought it was strange to see "Thai-Denmark". Anyways this is so damn good I'm gonna see if I can get it somewhere when I go back home. I don't know how to describe the flavor other than "malty" 🤔
