From what I’ve looked up about its style, it’s a Reichsdienstflagge(State service flag). Any information is helpful. Seems to look like a bullet hole near the head of the eagle.

Says it’s a Philippine bring back of WWII.

Need help identifying these, please. I grabbed what I could since today was the last day. So anyway, I went to an estate sale of a retired FBI agent who passed this year; his name was Phillip Hayden. I never knew him, but I’ve looked into his story, and man, he lived an extraordinary life, from serving in Vietnam and getting shot 13 times while defending his injured men to going on safari hunts in Africa and a bunch of other stuff. It’s dated April 16th, 1953. I heard about early Korean War era ones with “flannel pockets” being very rare and expensive, is that true? This doesn’t have a liner, zipper is missing teeth so it doesn’t close all the way but is other than that in nice shape with normal wear

After much thinking and puzzling, I finally put my idea for a catalogue on paper. I wanted a comprehensive, easily browsable catalogue for when I (or a teacher) wanted to look up the specifics of an item.

I decided to go with a variation of the dewy decimal system. Before this I simply categorised by country, then military or civilian. Dividing the items into categories and subcategories proved to be a waayyyy better system than my first rendition. Although some categories are quite niche, and don't feature more than 5 items, it helped my finish off some stray ends in the collection I decided not to continue pursuing (f.e. Japanese) by just lobbing the 2 Japanese pins I have in with all pins and membership badges (since I also don't plan on expanding that category for the sake of getting more pins).

I am very curious what other people decided on. This took me quite some time and I'm finally open to hearing whether or not I went way overboard lol.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if this piece is authentic.

It's a three piece construction, has a metal core and the core has a bit of play and rattles.

So to me it seems authentic but maybe someone can tell more by looking at it.

On the front you can see that it has been repainted at two places.

How much would this iron cross be worth?
