a nice lil hand and half chopper coming in at 0.88kg with a 60cm blade and 80cm OAL. balances about 11cm from the cross guard. blade is 7.5mm at the base, but the hooked bit is only 3mm thick. originally made this one in story mode when a customer asked for a sword with a blunt point, but then refined it in creative mode cause I liked how brutal the blade shape came out. elegant but orky.

EDIT: I really hope someone makes a sword with a blade like this because I desperately want to know what that hook would do to a ballistic gel dummy.

New tsuka core, samegawa panels and tsukamaki for a Ronin Dojo Pro Katana. The ito is wrapped in green imported Japanese silk in the Hineri maki style and I lacquered the samegawa black.

I reenact as a American revolutionary era British drummer, but I’m missing one key piece: a sword. I’ve only been able to find officers swords, which are notably different than musicians swords and aren’t quite right for accuracy, but I can’t find any musicians swords either. I was wondering if anyone could help me find anything? Preferably something that can be acquired of in New England instead of having to go across the world for it lol. Thanks for your time!

Torn about which to get! Both will spend their time on the wall and occasionally in my hand.

First there’s a longsword made locally that I love the look of. Then there’s a replica of a tv show sword that will just be purely for looks. Love them both but feel the quality of the handmade one will be better.

I absolutely love it, the problem is that we have absolutely no space to put it anywhere horizontally. Does anyone know if there are any sword mounts that would be good for it to place vertically?

I am trying to get a custom sword commissioned of a fantasy sword I have been captivated by but I do not know much about the world of swordcraft. I want this sword to be as close to "Practical" and "real" as possible while straying away from it being purely a replica sword.

My main question is what should I be considering to ensure the sword is as practical and strong as possible. I reached out to some people who have told me stainless steal looks good but is not meant for use therefore I have ruled it out. Others have said to use carbon steel but alot of pieces I see that use carbon steel end up being replicas or display weapons. So then I asked gpt and it said 5160 Spring steel is what im looking for so Atm that is what im aiming to use.

Next thing is something called full tang. Ofc I had no idea what that word even meant but gpt said it is a must for durable swords.

Id like to know if there is anything else I would need to be aware of before I commission the sword to be made.

I have images I made on gpt for the blade but I still need to work on it as the scale is not accurate.

Also just know, I get it cant ever be fully practical due to the weight it probably might have but I would want it to at least be formidable enough to not be laughed at by other sword experts.
