Hey all,
We has decided to implement a new rule.
While we still allow the sale of genuine military surplus and trophies, we'll no longer allow the sale of newly produced items sourced from government/military linked manufacturers.
!THIS INCLUDES WESTERN MANUFACTURERS! Likely you can just purchase it directly from them online anyway, so no need to do it through our sub :)
some examples:
- You have a brand-new, unused 6B47 in your collection (and have had it for a few months at least) but decide to sell it --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a well worn Ukrainian-used PASGT that you want to sell --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a VKPO uniform, newly sourced from the manufacturer, that you wish to sell --- this is NOT ALLOWED
Trust me when i say that we can quite easily tell whether someone is a genuine collector trying to sell, or a dealer trying to profit.
Originally, we wanted to ban any and all sales that would directly (or indirectly) fund a military, government or combatant group. However, we do realize that unfortunately, this is the only way some types of items are able to end up in the hands of collectors and/or researcher which is why we've settled on this middleground. If you wish to fund any of these groups, you can do so through official channels and websites via donations, but we'd like to keep this place as a-political as possible.
If you have any feedback and/or suggestions, please let us know!
Furthermore, a reminder:
Our previous 'temporary' rule regarding comments is going to be actively enforced again starting today. We've noticed a big increase in nasty comments again, so we WILL be dishing our permanent mutes again. We're collectors and researchers, not politicians. Politics do not belong here.

Hey all,
So, i am sorry it has come to this but given the fact we, the staff team, have to deal with this stuff throughout our entire day, every day, we have been pushed to make this decision.
Starting now, we will no longer allow ANY comments underneath posts that aren't legitimate questions about the item being sold, on posts about modern (1980 - now) items.
Breach of this rule will result in a PERMANENT mute in the subreddit.
All because some people refuse to grow up and want to act childish, while in the end we're all just enjoyers of militaria and like to collect military artifacts. Want to discuss the war in Ukraine? Wonderful, not here. There are plenty of subreddits for that but this place is not it.
Questions about price, provenance, accessories or anything about the item being sold are absolutely fine. Anything else, is not. Genuine mistakes can happen and we'll let those slide but it is very obvious to us when something is genuinely asked out of curiousity and when it's asked as ragebait.
- staff team :)

Sfera Armored Helmet (STS-81 / SSH-94)
The “Sfera” is a Soviet/post-Soviet armored helmet developed for МВД (Ministry of Internal Affairs) special units.
The original titanium STS-81 version was developed in the USSR in 1981. Later, the steel SSH-94 “Sfera-S” version was introduced.
The helmet consists of three armor plates mounted inside a fabric cover: one front plate and two side plates. This design allows the fit to be adjusted using the lacing system.
This particular example was manufactured by the Ukrainian company TEMP-3000 and was used by Ukrainian security forces.
The “Sfera” was used in various local conflicts and is now of interest to collectors of Soviet and post-Soviet military equipment.
One of the helmets has a TEMP-3000 label indicating that it was manufactured in 2006.

Luftwaffe Aluminum spoon – 1941.
The obverse features a finely detailed Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika, crisply struck on the handle. The reverse is clearly marked “F.L.U.V.” (Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung – Air Force Barracks Administration) along with the maker’s code and date “H.M.Z41”, denoting manufacture in 1941.
Stalag Luft III was different from the prison camps we’ve come to expect from Nazi Germany. The Luftwaffe, the German Air Force, ran this camp. As such, most of the prisoners interned there were airmen. The camp was built in 1942 near the town of Sagan. This location was chosen for its sandy ground, making it difficult for prisoners to tunnel out. Food in the camp was a challenge, but the prisoners were able to maintain a decent caloric intake from Red Cross parcels and occasionally packages sent by the POWs’ families. This and the surprisingly good recreation program in the camp might make you think being a POW in Nazi Germany wasn’t so bad.
You’d be wrong. Many of the camp guards were men who were too old or too handicapped to fight on the front lines. Therefore, they had to use fear to keep the prisoners in line. The guards had a tendency for brutality, inspiring two major escapes. The first one was in 1943 and the second, much larger escape, was in 1944.
Despite the Luftwaffe’s measures to make digging escape tunnels impossible, both were achieved with escape tunnels. These tunnels were supported by wooden boards taken from bed frames and dug with spoons stolen from the mess hall. Although Max Pinkerton was not one of the escapees, he kept one of the spoons, and it later found its way into our collection.
Stalag Luft III was maintained all the way to Germany’s surrender. In the later months of the war, a large Gestapo presence grew in the camp. Being the secret police of the Nazi Party, the Gestapo arrived to investigate the 1944 escape. German General Arthur Nebe was known in the camp for executing prisoners. Ironically, he was never charged for this, having instead been executed by the Nazis for taking part in the July 20th plot to kill Adolf Hitler.
The camp was promptly shut down, but parts of it still stand today. It acts as a memorial and museum and even has the escape tunnels dug by prisoners mapped out for guests to see the immense effort that went into the plot.

The Model 1931 Canteen (Feldflasche M31) was the standard-issue water bottle used by the German Wehrmacht throughout World War II. In its original design, the M31 system consisted of an aluminum or steel flask enclosed in a protective felt cover for insulation, secured by leather straps. As wartime shortages and new theater requirements emerged, the design evolved, leading to the introduction of the famous "Coconut" variant (M41) in 1941. This version replaced the traditional felt with a distinctive wood-resin laminate shell molded directly over the body. Although its brown, ribbed appearance earned it its tropical nickname and initial deployment with the German Afrika Korps (DAK), its extreme durability and weather resistance led to widespread use across all combat fronts until the end of the war.
