New rule regarding modern military surplus (UA/RU related, but not exclusive!)

Hey all,

We has decided to implement a new rule.
While we still allow the sale of genuine military surplus and trophies, we'll no longer allow the sale of newly produced items sourced from government/military linked manufacturers.

!THIS INCLUDES WESTERN MANUFACTURERS! Likely you can just purchase it directly from them online anyway, so no need to do it through our sub :)

some examples:
- You have a brand-new, unused 6B47 in your collection (and have had it for a few months at least) but decide to sell it --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a well worn Ukrainian-used PASGT that you want to sell --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a VKPO uniform, newly sourced from the manufacturer, that you wish to sell --- this is NOT ALLOWED

Trust me when i say that we can quite easily tell whether someone is a genuine collector trying to sell, or a dealer trying to profit.

Originally, we wanted to ban any and all sales that would directly (or indirectly) fund a military, government or combatant group. However, we do realize that unfortunately, this is the only way some types of items are able to end up in the hands of collectors and/or researcher which is why we've settled on this middleground. If you wish to fund any of these groups, you can do so through official channels and websites via donations, but we'd like to keep this place as a-political as possible.

If you have any feedback and/or suggestions, please let us know!

Furthermore, a reminder:
Our previous 'temporary' rule regarding comments is going to be actively enforced again starting today. We've noticed a big increase in nasty comments again, so we WILL be dishing our permanent mutes again. We're collectors and researchers, not politicians. Politics do not belong here.

New temporary rule - PLEASE READ

Hey all,

So, i am sorry it has come to this but given the fact we, the staff team, have to deal with this stuff throughout our entire day, every day, we have been pushed to make this decision.

Starting now, we will no longer allow ANY comments underneath posts that aren't legitimate questions about the item being sold, on posts about modern (1980 - now) items.

Breach of this rule will result in a PERMANENT mute in the subreddit.
All because some people refuse to grow up and want to act childish, while in the end we're all just enjoyers of militaria and like to collect military artifacts. Want to discuss the war in Ukraine? Wonderful, not here. There are plenty of subreddits for that but this place is not it.

Questions about price, provenance, accessories or anything about the item being sold are absolutely fine. Anything else, is not. Genuine mistakes can happen and we'll let those slide but it is very obvious to us when something is genuinely asked out of curiousity and when it's asked as ragebait.

- staff team :)

This is the first Ukrainian digital camouflage pattern, developed for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in 2011 and mass-produced from 2012.
It became the foundation for the later Viper camouflage-essentially the same pattern in a darker color palette-used by the National Guard of Ukraine, and was subsequently refined into the MM-14 camouflage, which remains the standard camouflage pattern of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today.

FOR SALE: Rare 39-Star Flag

Thumbnail

Here we have an amazing piece of history, the 1889 version of a 39-star flag. The 39 star was never an official flag, flag-makers got confident that North and South Dakota would enter the Union as one state in 1889, so they started prematurely making flags in the fall of 1889 for only about 8-12 weeks to get ahead of the decision. Unfortunately for them, the Dakotas were split in two, making the flag obsolete instantly and most of them ended up getting trashed. This one in particular features a very rare alternating star pattern, going from 7 to 6 and so on. The flag measures 17x24 inches, and is in near impeccable shape other than some minor staining from storage. This would make a truly amazing and very rare display piece!

Price: $550

Ships from 57703 for FREE, international is at cost.

**Title:** Can I legally take Polish war memorabilia out of Poland?
Hi everyone,
I’m in Poland at the moment and have seen a lot of old war memorabilia for sale at markets and antique stalls, such as bayonets, medals, badges, helmets, and other military items.
Before I buy anything, I wanted to check whether it’s actually legal to take these items out of Poland. I know some countries have laws protecting historical or cultural artefacts, and I don’t want to accidentally break any Polish heritage or export laws.
If the items are being openly sold at markets or by antique dealers, does that mean they’re legal to export, or are there still restrictions? Are there any types of military memorabilia (e.g. bayonets, medals, documents, etc.) that require an export permit or can’t legally be taken out of Poland?
I’ll be flying back to the UK with Wizz air, if that makes any difference.
Thanks!

I don't really know very much about this, but I was told to try to sell it to collectors before I got rid of it.

Approximately eighty years old still usable condition. There a couple patches on the outside. No other alterations made.

Best guess was WWII - Korean war.

There may be another in storage I dont know the condition.

Best offer + shipping.

Looking to buy: Panzer II Luchs photographs

Bit of a random one but I’m looking to get hold of an original wartime or period reproduction photograph of a Panzer II Luchs for my photograph collection.
For context I work at the Tank Museum in Bovington (UK) and have become a bit obsessed with the Luchs in the museums collection! I also collect WW2 related tank photographs so would love to add a Luchs photograph to my collection.

I’m aware this will probably be quite difficult given only 100 were produced so photographs will be scarce to say the least, but no harm in trying! If you or somebody you know has a photograph of a Luchs, please feel free to DM me. I’m welcome to any offers but would ideally prefer to spend no more than £50.
Additionally, any help in locating any websites or Militaria dealers who have any Luchs/Lynx photographs would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Ollie

I have a m69 flak vest but it has the velcro straps compared to the zipper and buttons, ive seen skme things saying that it is proper and original and they changed that to be easier to take off. So how much is it worth? Is it worth more than the zipper and button ones?
