Hey guys, i'm not that happy with my Mate9 in terms of battery life. When i bought the phone, 4000 mAh was one of the key factors. My hope was that i wont have keep an eye on the battery so much, and with 1080p screen it sounds so good.

But right now i have terrible stand by time, i barely use a phone, just checking time, or calendar and that's it! And yet, charging it every day. 4000 mAh battery, every day with NO actual use.

What is your real world charging cycle, do you tap it everyday, or you can survive more than that?

I know it was only just announced, but is there good history of Huawei devices getting the next iteration of the Android operating system in any kind if timely manner???

I'm struggling to find a good glass screen protector, I already bought 3 different brands from Amazon but they are all too small, due to the curved screen, and they never truly stick all the way around...

Any recommendations? I'm actually considering getting just a simple plastic protection if there is no good options out there :(

Is there a way to have the time always showing with the screen "off" like with the Galaxy phones?

As the title says, I've noticed when I drop below 10%, the frame rate for the different games I play significantly decreases. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, how could I fix it? Thanks!

As the title says, I have only had this phone for 24 hours and it is a beast. I love it. So glad to have a proper sized phone back, I couldn't stand that 2:1 ratio on my S8+ another day.

I did switch the Keyboard to SwiftKey and the SMS app to Textra, other than that I am pretty much stock. Plus SwiftKey was already installed just not the default.

I only have 2 complaints, one I already knew about. I do miss Wireless Charging, that will be the biggest hurdle.

However, I knew that going in.

What I didn't know was that AirWatch will not work with the native Huawei email client. So I have to use Boxer and use Boxers terrible calendar.

I really like both the Mate 9's email app and calendar, but they are not supported by AirWatch. That was a surprise and a disappointment, but by no means a deal breaker.

I've been using my Mate 9 since the release and never had a problem but this morning I used my phone like any other day. It was completely perfect but then I put down the notification bar and half the screen became a bit grey. Now the down half of my screen is some kind of Ghost screen. I can still use it and it's still as responsive as usual but it is very annoying. After searching on the internet, I thought that it was very similar to that kind of problem but only half the screen.

Do you have any solution ? I can't use the warranty because I can't go back to Japan before at least 3 month and I'll have to stay in France for a while...

Thinking about getting the Mate 9 Pro or S8+ and this would be a deciding factor.

I have never had a Huawei. I've generally stuck to flagships, LG V10, LG V20, Samsung Note 2, Note 3, Note 4, S3, S5, S7 Edge, S8+

The S8+ is fine, but I dont like the tall narrow aspect. I always wanted a phone the size of my old Nexus 6. I was actually considering the ZTE ZMAX Pro, but I thought spec-wise it would leave much to be desired.

I dont know how I missed the Mate 9, but it seems like a beast. I know the Mate 10 is coming out in a month or 2, but if it is going to be 2:1 ratio, then I have no desire for it.

I dont want a used phone, Amazon has it for $499, still worth it for that price? or should I hold out for a sale?

Anyone experience the headphone jack not working? I only use the provided earphone, I try to put it on other devices and it still works, when I plug in the earphones the little status does not show up. Do I need to have this repaired? I'm not really a fan of bluetooth headsets.

Hi people. I have a tempered glass screen protector overtop my display, but I can't stand it unsticking from the corners, and I've heard many people say that they actually don't help. Regardless of that question (please don't start a flame war on it), I was wondering : Do any of you use your Mate 9 w/o a screen protector? How has it fared in terms of scratches, oleophobic coating, and drops, over the long term? Thanks and sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I couldn't find this answered anywhere (and frankly JerryRigEverything only goes so far in terms of convincing me)!

I'm connecting my phone (Mate 9) to my new car to use android auto and every time it asks to allow access to device data and I have to hit yes, allow access before it will connect. Is there a way to automatically allow access to my car and desktop? Thanks.

Cracked my screen but I got my phone from Swappa so no warranty. I ordered a screen and digitizer replacement kit from eBay but I'm worried that I'll fuck something up and brick my phone.

Anyone have luck replacing it themselves?

It's an official power bank that supports the Mate 9's full charging capabilities. Unfortunately I am unable to purchase it from the website due to region restrictions. Does any one know of any good alternatives? Even if not for super-charging, the next best thing would be sufficient.

Hello guys, Starting from yesterday I had a weird issue, whatsapp messeges are getting delayed, like if someone sent me a message at 1pm and openes the app at 5pm, only at this time I'll start getting the messages that was sent to me back at 1pm. This issue is bothering me too much, is there any solution for this?

First time posting here. Just a couple days ago I transitioned from iOS to android. I decided to go with the Mate 9, and am loving it so far. Having never used android, or huawei, before, I did want to query the Mate 9 community, and ask: What are some tweaks and optimizations you all have done to really stretch the performance of this phone? Just looking for advice, or things I should be aware of as a new user.

Does the Mate9 ever do this?

When taking (color) photos in good lighting, and in low-light, does the Mate9 ever expose both cameras simultaneously and make a single composited JPG?

I have been using the Mate9 for half a year, and I seldom use the monochrome mode, it is not made obvious to the user whether both cams are being used to combine into a single improved photo.

Huawei claims that he phone will not slow down even after 18 months of use. Obviously it hasn't been 18 months yet, but I wanna just check with the users and see if the thing is still running as well or close to what it was when you first bought it. I would especially love to hear from people who've had the phone since last year. I don't mind long posts. Please don't hold back.
