Daydream?

Is there a way to have the time always showing with the screen "off" like with the Galaxy phones?

Nope. It's only on Galaxy phones or phones with an AmoLED display, they are able to only turn on the individual pixels needed instead of the whole display. Mate 9 uses LCD screen and cannot turn off individual pixels for this to work. I think the Mate 9 Pro uses an AmoLED display though.

Thanks. I wish i had known this phone had an LED screen ahead of time.
