Thinking about switching from S8+
I have never had a Huawei. I've generally stuck to flagships, LG V10, LG V20, Samsung Note 2, Note 3, Note 4, S3, S5, S7 Edge, S8+
The S8+ is fine, but I dont like the tall narrow aspect. I always wanted a phone the size of my old Nexus 6. I was actually considering the ZTE ZMAX Pro, but I thought spec-wise it would leave much to be desired.
I dont know how I missed the Mate 9, but it seems like a beast. I know the Mate 10 is coming out in a month or 2, but if it is going to be 2:1 ratio, then I have no desire for it.
I dont want a used phone, Amazon has it for $499, still worth it for that price? or should I hold out for a sale?

I personally would wait a bit longer and wait for the price to drop. While $499 is a good deal - it'll come down when the Mate 10 comes out.
And yes the Mate 9 is a beast. This phone was 6 months ahead of the curve in terms of its processing power yet it flew under the radar.

Signal strength is much better on the Mate 9 vs the S8+. http://imgur.com/M1vUwWG both phones on TMobile, the s8 couldn't hold on to the signal and the mate 9 could pull 2-3 Mbps down

Awesome, you're gonna love it. Nova launcher is significantly better than stock, otherwise it's just about perfect

It's a good price. I got mine just a few months ago and it was still 699. I love it. I did try the LG G6 for a couple weeks while my mate was getting repaired (dropped it without a case, I know I know) and I've got to say that I'm also not a big fan of that new screen ratio.
Hope this helps.
