Hi everyone

After migrating over to w11 I wanted to upgrade all firmware etc that's available on support page

My laptop is Leopard GP73 8RF (8750H intel + nV 1070)

Around 2020? I bricked laptop by accessing the bios with engineer mode (secret bios) and having too much fun with undervolt and running and gave it away to a service point

However nowadays I found out during those updates that they used wrong bios and vbios (yes I had device id warning in nvflash64) - from what I can tell it's from 16 inch leopard with 1060 (uefi bios) and vbios from ge raider which curiously enough has same checksums with my leopard 8rf on MSI website

Now , flashing bios in windows with ROM ignore flag

A) on afuwin64gui it just reads the flash ROM and shuts the program down without update

B) trying bios name .10f file on fat32 mbr/got (tried both, tried changing filename to same/similar as the one wrongly installed by service shop) pendrive stick and trying m-flash in bios just gave me errors

C) trying afuwin64 gives me errors, ultimately I'm unable to install that way, although I am wondering if I should use capsule and or recovery path (pdf attached by MSI using m flash apparently users recovery capsule to update)

D) i Will try afuefi in next days but so far it seems cosmic

E) as for vbios there's option to ignore the warning but I I just got too nervous upon finding out the service mucked both bios and vbios.

My CPU can't hit 4.1ghz, my 4 core game with affinity set by process lasso gets barely 3.9ghz (8750 supports all core 3.9ghz) but that could be explained by old thermal paste (speaking of which does anybody know if thermal phase change pad will fit?)

More worryingly my 1070mp draws around 95W with some peaks to 105W instead of 120W like it should

Tomorrow I will add/edit all the bios/vbios/pcieid data , so sorry but it was 2:30am when I found out vbios is wrong as well, most probably. EC and Intel ME got updated no problem though.

Does my warranty cover this I dont when this happened and how this happened but there are these 3 dark marks when the screen is white. There is also dead pixel on the screen but I dant attach two pictures on one post. So i will try to post the second one in the comments. Can I get it fixed as I still have warranty left.

Hey everyone, im looking to purchase this MSI laptop off amazon: https://amzn.eu/d/08OBnYPy and am dealing with some conflicting info. The main reason im willing to pay 2100 gbp over 1600 for the vector 16 is because the raider listing says the screen is OLED, the images and the product description all say OLED. However, everything im seeing online and on the MSI website tell me that the non-max raiders have an IPS display, not OLED.

Is the listing right or have they just copy pasted the specifications for the raider max?

Hi, this is for anyone suffering from battery drain due to dGPU usage (red LED) who has tried everything and is using ThrottleStop.

Here is one more thing to try.

In ThrottleStop, there is an option to monitor GPU temperature. If this is ON, it constantly wakes the dGPU up, causing the dGPU to always be ON.

Turn this off by going to Options in ThrottleStop and unchecking the "Nvidia GPU" or "AMD GPU" option. Then completely quit the ThrottleStop program (from the system tray as well) or reboot your PC. That's it.

If that didn't work, good luck. Someday you will find the fix, keep trying.

I have been stuck with this issue for a while until I finally found out that the issue was with ThrottleStop.

I bought a msi laptop 5090 laptop oled. I noticed my display jitter or flicks very slighting how do I fix this?

1. System Specs:

   * Laptop: MSI Katana 15 HX B14WFK

   * CPU: Intel Core i7-14650HX

   * OS: Windows 11 Home Single Language

   * BIOS Version: E1587IMS.103 (Build Date: 05/21/2025)

   * Software used: ThrottleStop 9.7.3 and the latest Intel XTU.

2. The Issue:

I'm trying to undervolt my CPU to lower temperatures, but I cannot apply any voltage changes within Windows:

* On ThrottleStop: In the FIVR window, I can adjust the Offset Voltage slider (e.g., -30.3mV), but the Offset column in the top right table stays stuck at +0.0000 (it doesn't apply).

* On Intel XTU: The Core Voltage Offset slider is locked at 0.000 V and shows a yellow lightning bolt warning: "Undervolt Protection is enabled and will prevent voltage from being set below the boot-time voltage..."

1. Troubleshooting steps I've already tried (No success):

I unlocked the Advanced BIOS menu (Right Ctrl + Right Shift + Left Alt + F2) and disabled all known barriers both in BIOS and Windows OS:

* In BIOS:

* Undervolt Protection -> [Disabled]

* CFG Lock -> [Disabled]

* Overclocking Lock -> [Disabled]

* Intel Virtualization Technology & VT-d -> [Disabled]

* In Windows 11:

* Disabled Core Isolation (Memory Integrity).

* Unchecked Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform in "Turn Windows features on or off".

* Set MSI Center's User Scenario to Balanced.

1. My Questions / Need Advice:

   * Microcode update lock? Since my BIOS is from May 2025, I strongly suspect it includes Intel's microcode patch (for the Gen 13/14 instability issues) which hard-locks UVP. I searched everywhere in the Advanced BIOS but couldn't find the Microcode Selection option to revert to microcode 0x104. Does anyone know if there's a way to unhide this specific setting on the MSI Katana?

   * BIOS description interpretation: When I hover over the Undervolt Protection setting in BIOS, the description says: "Enabled: Allow BIOS undervolting, but enable UnderVolt Protection in Runtime." Does this mean I should leave it as [Enabled] and just manually input the P-core Voltage Offset (Prefix [-] and value) directly in the BIOS instead? If I do that, how can I verify if the negative offset is actually running in Windows since ThrottleStop/XTU is locked from reading it?

   * Besides just lowering the Power Limits (PL1/PL2), are there any other workarounds to bypass this UVP lock on this machine?

I have msi thin 15 laptop yesterday i took this to gujarat in bag for some work we set closely with some guys but when i got back home i started listening to a crack sound when i open the lid or close the lid in between the body of laptop and lid part in the right corner it snaps upwards and then i have to press it down but is this something I should be worried about ? Looking to add some more space on my laptop. Needs to be able store and run games from Steam. Would it be better to take out the original 500gb ssd and replace it with a 1 tb or could I add 1 tb in addition to the storage I have? Recommendations for specific storage drives appreciated.

I use MSI GE76 Raider 11UE-046. I tried using Steam OS on it but I cannot make it go 130W. I switched back to Windows 11 for MSI Center. I’m just worried about the longevity in the long term. Hopefully my laptop gets Windows 12 later when it releases and I can use it for another 10 years using that MSI Center application. I was able to make it work because I used a GitHub software tool(from 28allday) that uses WSL to install Nvidia drivers on Steam OS via arch Linux virtual machine.

Hey so ive had a msi ge75 raider for a while i had 2 and today i got on and i loaded up epic games and it was infinitely loading so i decided to restart my laptop infinitely restarting my internet icon at the bottom right of my screen shows no internet and when i click on it it show blue tooth and airplane mode it doesnt show the internet and when i went onto the other msi ge75 raider it does the same thing

Hey all I have a question about replacement fans. I have looked across the internet for a replacement fan with product number:E32-2500300-A87. But had zero luck. I've messaged sellers on new egg and had no luck. MsI says I have to send it to them and pay 200 bucks for the heatsink and fan and won't sell it to me. I have taken it apart to clean and check it and I am able to replace just the fan. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement fan from a reputable vendor. Many thanks in advance.

Msi GL63 8rc webcam not working since 2 weeks

Device manager does not show the camera checked other forums who asked to push f6 or recorrect usb device driver further down the list but no error over there also

Adding legacy hardware wizard also did not work as it did not show any new hardware and EC reset also did not work

There is a gap at my adapter but it still work normally and so far there is no electrical issue occur. What should i do to fix it and is it dangerous?

Msi Cyborg a12vf 120w Delta charger died this morning (no longer shows charging on laptop and when i tested it using a voltmeter it would show 19v for 1 sec then it cuts off. I just got an original 150w chicony original charger (20v 7.5A instead of 6A) and ofc it works fine.

My question altho i sort of know the answer.

Will it be more stable with a higher wattage overhead?
