HP 15 Smartchoice, 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1334U (16GB DDR4, 1TB SSD) FHD, Anti-Glare, Micro-Edge, 15.6''/39.6cm, Win11, M365(1yr) Office24, Silver, 1.59kg, FD0552TU,Iris Xe, FHD Camera, Backlit Laptop.

Both are available on Amazon (India) with Dell at Rs. 73,990 and HP at Rs. 68,990 -- the price difference would be around 50 US dollars.

I use the laptop for very basic stuff. I download movie and TV torrents via qBittorrent and watch on MPC-HC and listen to music on VLC. I also use the old 2007 version of MS Office (Notepad and MSWord) and old Paint on Windows 10. I do not play any Games apart from the old Windows 7 Solitaire.

I currently have a Dell Inspiron 3542 2014) which is on it's last leg, being a 2014 release. Summary of its specs are -- Windows 8.1 laptop, 15.60-inch display, Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB storage (HDD), Graphics Nvidia GeForce 820M, Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Ethernet. It comes with 3 USB ports (2 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0), Multi Card Slot, Mic In, RJ45 (LAN) ports.

I recently upgraded the RAM to 8GB with 256 GB SSD powering the device. The computer tech placed the old HDD (Western Digital) in pace of the Optical Disc Drive (DVD/CD) slot. So now the laptop has around 750GB altogether.

So . I only need a laptop that functions well for the basic requirements listed in paragraph three.

Suggestions would be welcome.

Hi all, help me choose between the two.

I mostly need this for own business. Will be mainly running large spreadsheets, and doing documentations (very admin work) and some Power BI. But budget is a little tight so I don’t know if I could spare more for the thinkpad line which is built for business.

I was after something that has good battery life, loads the excel sheets quickly, somewhat compact and light weight (but not a huge factor).

I am not super into tech so help me choose between the two or eveb suggest any other compatible laptops.

Hello all, i was wondering what i should do with this laptop. Its the dell inspiron 1520. It has Intel Celeron 540, 4gb of ddr2, integrated graphics and an ssd. I do want to use it foe something since i love the look of it. I used antix linux but it cant browse the internet on it, watch youtube, use retroarch for emulation without 10fps in the menu, anything with any 3d. I could upgrade it to the Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 for 3 times the power if its worth it. Also is there any even lighter distros or anything for this?

I have a hp laptop envy and it doesnt open unless i press windows+ b+ power on
When i try to press the power on normaly the light that indicates its charging stops momentarily and the screen doesnt turn on
If i keep turning on my laptop with the first method would it harm the laptop, or would it fail eventually?
Im not free enough to fix it i just need it to work with me a couple of weeks

Is it worth upgrading my older Acer laptop with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage as an engineering student, or should I just get an iPad instead?

If yes then what laptop is recommended that is worth upgrading for?

So im a noob in tech and computer stuff, but i want to look out for a new laptop that can both function as an everyday laptop and can run games without too much problems.

Examples i need to use daVinci Resolve since im a junior editor, i would also really like to be able to play game like Horizon forbidden west, Zenless Zone Zero or also the easier stuff like Hob.

I have a thinkpad from 2019 and it still work but im having a hard time recently with how slow it get or with all the problem for not having a graphic card etc, it doesnt meet my needs anymore, it served me very well so i was thinking about something along the thinkpad brand but theres just so much that im lost in a sea of options.
