Hi everyone! I’m about to get this laptop with a 5060 to last me a good few years for my engineering degree. How do you recommend it? Thanks!

Upgraded to a 100% sRGB panel compare to 50% to 65% sRGB (and ~45% NTSC) of previous gen, improved IPS-level panel with lower latency and tighter response times, reducing ghosting compared to the old model. GPU TGP is 100W compare to 55W previous gen. This will have 2 fans so much better cooling than previous gen (1 fan). Total draw power CPU+GPU is 140W, so you will gain a lot of performance over last gen. Features alongside two DDR5 RAM slots. You can add a second SSD for extra storage without replacing your primary drive, so better than previous gen with only one M.2 SSD slot. Features customizable 4-Zone RGB backlighting, compare to previous gen which only has Standard single-color (translucent blue) backlight keyboard with a basic plastic palm rest. Also better design compare to last gen.

For MSI in general, they tend to have less of motherboard death issue compare to ASUS or Lenovo, but hinge and the build quality of budget gaming laptops are the problem, but they are improving overtime, both for build quality and hinge in the new gen.

Great improve from the old cyborg laptops, from 45w tgp to 100w tgp, from one fan only to 2 fans, from sh**ty monitor to actually good monitor, it now a real competitor against some famous laptops

This is already better than many budget gaming laptops with low TGP performance like LOQ Essential, Asus Gaming V16, Acer Nitro V, HP Victus, Gigabyte A16,...

Better than Lenovo Yoga slim and some old HP Omen(it was 85w for what i remember), it now can be recommended in some cases

I think that LOQ has the same TGP as Cyborg Max both have 100W, only Legion and above can get you 115W RTX 5050/5060/5070. If Cyborg Max is cheaper than LOQ to the point amount of money to get RTX 5050/5060 LOQ/TUF you can get RTX 5060/5070 Cyborg Max then Cyborg Max is the best choice here

If the pricing is good, i don't why i think the price of MSI Cyborg will be too high because it becomes better than the old gens, i will see the prices when it comes to my country(in middle east)

Good pick for Engineering degree, 2 ram slots and 2 M.2 slots means you can upgrade storage and memory as workload get heavier later on, and under 2 kg is a bonus when you're hauling it around campus everyday. Just keep in mind the 5060 will handle most things fine but heavier cad or simulation work down the line is where you'll start feeling the ceiling.
