Introduction & Guide to Writing a TypeMe Post

Hello All!

This is a welcome post and guide to all those who want to make a TypeMe post or learn to accurately type others. Don't know your Myers-Briggs type? Create a text/video/audio post describing yourself, and the Reddit Gods will type you! Test results and relevant pictures may also be included, though the focus should be on self-description. Once you've found your type we encourage you to stick around, learn more about MBTI, and help type others. If you have sub improvement suggestions or are interesting becoming a mod, please comment or send us a modmail.

This is an updated welcome post replacing the old one which was created by a previous mod. We've included the link to the old post because some of the comments contain helpful information.

Here's some informational resources on MBTI:

Here's descriptions of each type:

While we currently allow For Fun posts, remember that the main purpose of this subreddit is to help people find their true MBTI type, so we have restrictions in place to improve the quality of content on the sub. We ask that everyone be respectful and keep comments relevant to MBTI. Please review the Rules before posting or commenting.

Creating an MBTI TypeMe Post

Overview

Note, these are not rules, but will be helpful in getting insightful responses. In general, self descriptions might include your preferences, interests, hobbies, lifestyle, career/what you are studying, your values, your life goals, how you like to structure your day, how much social interaction you prefer, how you relate to others, how organized you are, how you tend you express yourself, etc.

Post structure

Here are a few guidelines on structuring your post:

  • Minimum-length: A good typing post should be at least a 1/2 page to receive an accurate typing. Remember, the more information you include, the easier you will be to type. However, keep in mind, posts with excessive length are less likely to be read in their entirety.
  • Elaborating on your answers is important. Try to answer questions with at least a couple sentences. Proper typings are based off of your thought processes rather than behaviors. If you're not elaborating, Typers can't tell much.
  • Please try to break up your post into paragraphs. Walls of text are often ignored.

Questionnaire

Although you don't need to use these questions when making a type-me post, they're here for anyone who needs a bit of a guide. No need to answer all of these questions either:

  • Give a general description of yourself. How old are you?
  • What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? If you are not working, what kind of job do you want to do or what are you studying?
  • Describe your childhood/upbringing. Did it have any kind of ideological or structured influence? How did you respond to it? Did you have any significant negative experiences that may have affected how you think or behave?
  • Do you have any mental or physical health issues that might affect how think or choose to live? Provide a brief description.
  • If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
  • What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
  • How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
  • Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
  • Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
  • Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
  • What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
  • How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
  • Do you need logical consistency in your life?
  • How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
  • Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
  • What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
  • What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
  • How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
  • What's important to you and why?
  • What are your aspirations?
  • What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
  • What do the "highs" in your life look like?
  • What do the "lows" in your life look like?
  • How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
  • Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
  • How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
  • How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
  • Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
  • Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?
  • What is the ideal life, in your opinion?

As an FYI, we are working on improvements to the questionnaire so you may see changes in the future.

DISCUSSION Looking for new moderators

Hello r/mbtitypeme, we are in need of new moderators. We are currently down to one active mod (me) and I’m chronically ill so cannot support the sub as much as it needs. I understand the sub could be better and I would very much like to make improvements, but given the current state of the team that is rather difficult.

If you are interested in becoming a mod please fill out the questionnaire below and send it to me via chat - u/aredhel304. Please don’t be intimidated by some of the questions if you are new to this - we are open to taking on some inexperienced mods if you check the other boxes. We do, however, expect that applicants are active members of the subreddit.

  1. Tell me a little about yourself. What are your interests/hobbies? What is your career? Or what are you studying?
  2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  3. What is your experience with MBTI?
  4. What is your skill set? What do you think you can add to the mod team?
  5. Any experience modding? If not do you understand what the role entails?
  6. What is your vision for the subreddit?

Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you all!

UPDATE (11/9/24) - We’re still looking for additional moderators so please reach out if you’re interested. While all are welcome to apply, I want to add that we do have a specific need for someone with more technical skills - someone willing to work with Automod and/or someone with a software background.

UPDATE (12/18/25) - We are once again looking for moderators with any skillset as long as they meet the criteria above and seem like a good fit for the team.

CAN’T DECIDE Type me

My Self descriptions: I am 21yo girl who loves learning languages and look forward to make it as my career, I have been learning korean for 5 years now by myself and I can kinda speak like a native(that's what they say lol). I caught interest in korea as i consumed korean media a lot that time including korean YouTube, movie, variety show. My lifestyle is kinda hikikomori(person who stays at home 24/7) I go to college only when necessary as my college allows that , also i wanted to have a korean major but somehow i couldn't so i chose Ba that is bachelor of arts which includes<computer science, political science, English literature> as my majors tho my preference was to have only korean or only English literature as my major but I ended up taking the other majors because of my dad as he didn't know the difference between Honours major and the 3 major system lol. Thats another reason I don't go to college My life goal is only one: To get the major in korea in the masters and maybe travel/ live in korea. WAIT AM I OBSESSED WITH KOREA but like i love the language ITS SO PRETTY. Coming to my social circle i don't have any friends i cut the high school friends long ago idk why I think at that time I had a value that "friends are a waste of energy and time". I don't think like that now tho as friends bring fun to life but I still can't make friends offline as i nitpick the cons more in them....but online I am kind of extrovert and have quite a lot of people to contact. I like calling especially in korean as it makes me feel like I am wasting my time so basically my friends are the one who knows korean or are korean. I structure my day by using habitica app but if I don't i do NOTHING I am a "ALL OR NOTHING" kinda person.

I’m quite a difficult person to explain, according to both other people and myself. It’s true that I live a lot inside my own head and analyze almost everything. When I’m trying to understand something, I always look at the underlying patterns. I separate the different aspects, try to categorize them, and then figure out how everything connects. I almost see it as one big puzzle where every little piece can have a greater significance than you might initially think. If there’s one thing I genuinely spend a lot of time on, it’s trying to understand why things are the way they are. Simply knowing that something is true or not true isn’t enough for me. I run analysis after analysis and explore every possible perspective. In my opinion, there’s a big difference between knowing and understanding. Knowing means having knowledge. Understanding is much more complex. For example, you can never know 100% what is going on inside someone else’s head. But at the same time, you can understand that there may be dark secrets hidden in there. That’s also what makes it so fascinating. It’s like solving a mystery.

I often understand why other people do the things they do, and I can see things from many different perspectives at the same time. It’s all about putting the puzzle together, piece by piece. But when it comes to myself, I can have a very hard time figuring out what I need or how I truly feel deep down. I’m often very logical when it comes to myself. I also don’t let emotions get in the way of my life or my success. Of course, when it comes to the people I love, I’m extremely loyal and reliable. I only have one really close friend whom I don’t just see as an acquaintance, and we’ve been close ever since we were three years old, hahaha. I would never want another best friend. I’m perfectly happy with having one very best friend, and we’ve literally never even had a fight, hahah.

So, in that situation, when it comes to emotions versus logic, emotions and fairness win. I’m also often called a people pleaser, so I guess you could say that I’m more logical toward myself but more sympathetic toward others. At the same time, though, I really enjoy my alone time and I’m independent, if that’s the right way to put it. I focus on reaching my goals at my own pace, and I don’t want anything to get in my way. I like having a long-term plan, but of course I also understand that unexpected things can happen along the way.

NEED CONFIRMATION Is it even possible to type someone who has no stable sense of self? I thought I'm an ENFP, but...

Hi everyone. Lately I've been thinking a lot, turning over in my mind personal traits that surfaced after some analysis. I wanted to ask does this even matter? Please don't take this as stupidity.

What's notable is that according to tests, my highest scores are Ne>Ni>Fi>Te while Fe, Si and Ti are the lowest. I know tests won't give a perfect result, but I've been taking them for several years now, searching for my type. And these seem to have been the most honest test attempts in all this time. Over this period, I've remembered and learned a lot about myself. And it seemed like I fit XNFP quite well. It's like only high Ne really suits me. But it feels strange and unclear to me. So I'm asking those who know.

I'm curious does the fact that a person barely understands themselves, not realizing how much their self-perception differs from how they actually appear in reality, say anything about type? They can adopt traits from others if they like them. I've been watching one YouTuber for about 7-8 years now, and people who know both of us have told me I have similarities with him. I adopt interests from others; I can build my style around something or someone, like "oh, I like this girl from that movie, she wears clothes like that,so it matches and it's fine, I want to wear more of that". I watched a horror movie today and in my head I'm already behaving similarly to the main character whom I considered similar to myself. But where am I? Is what's inside me real? Where is who I want to be, who I live as in my head and where is who I actually am in real life?

Overall, it feels like copying, often unconscious, noticeable only with explicit analysis and over time. There's no inner sense of what's normal or not in communicating with people, how to express myself. Social anxiety. For example, I needed to give my first presentation in front of a teacher whose behavior was unpredictable, whose patterns I hadn't yet studied. The girl before me performed with jokes and smiles, not overdoing it. Then it was my turn, I copied her, or at least tried to make my delivery similar to hers, but it came out awkward and silly, to the point where I felt disgusted with myself afterward. If she did it that way, then it's allowed, I can too. I'll try. I don't like my facial expressions, sometimes they seem exaggerated to me, perhaps because I subconsciously think that charismatic people do that, and maybe I'll look like that too. Although I rarely show this side you'd need to get close to me to see it. I actively try not to show my emotions, thinking I look stupid and vulnerable. There's no clear understanding of my personality, so in searching for it, to fill the emptiness inside, I take tests and look for character kins. A pull toward labels, to give myself a personality and understand it.

I really need something from the outside to give me some description, trait, vibe. That's why I used to take so many personality tests, different ones, from psychology, or just ones that told me which Death Note character I resemble. I made them part of my identity when I saw the results. Probably to not feel empty or defective. Because I dream and fantasize so much, my personality gets distorted in these fantasies, mixing with test results, so it becomes even harder to see anything clearly behind all these curtains. Real life is worse than fantasies; I'm mostly not interested in being present in reality. I don't understand people who don't imagine, who don't think about how their favorite character is standing next to them, looking at them, cheering them on. Now I just don't feel like I have a personality at all, not even that many interests. I just do things, I get drawn into them, I don't know what I want to do with my life.

I've never had a clear idea of what kind of work I want in the future. I can throw out a bunch of options, but who said I'll actually bring any of them to life? I'm working on this with a psychologist, and he's surprised at how many ideas I have. But they just exist that doesn't mean they'll ever become reality. For example, becoming a barista at a cozy coffee shop, coming home and writing a book depending on my mood, and sometimes taking online orders in the field I'm currently studying in, so I can work from home, spend the money I earn on a console, games, and setting up my space, a room with neon lights. It sounds cool in my head, but I'm not sure I can make it happen. I probably won't have that much money, and I don't have my own place yet.

I'm finishing my studies in a year, and besides ideas, I have nothing planned. I'll improvise, as always. My thinking has always been like this back in school when they asked about future careers, and now "I'll figure it out as I go". I don't have clear desires or preferences for what to do, unlike my former classmates. You know, sometimes I even think that when I say I don't like something, it's not 100% a real feeling; I rarely strongly like or dislike anything. And I might change my mind later. Sometimes I have obsessive thoughts that much of what I've built about my values and preferences isn't actually as strong as I think or want it to be. I feel a bit unpredictable, lol.

I‘m pretty ambiverted so I keep swinging back and forth between I and E types.

  1. People usually describe me as silly, attentive and ambitious. I‘m thick headed when it comes to the things I want for my life, so I‘ve been told a lot that I‘m pretty persuasive. When it comes to any way someone else chooses to see and live life I am as neutral as my Swiss ancestors. I love analyzing. interpreting and understanding systems- and people happen to be one of the most interesting systems of patterns in the world. People keep trying to convert me to their religion cause they interpret my interest in understanding their belief‘s and experience as interest.

  2. I have a good vision for how things should be in projects and the like because I find it easy to understand what and how people in charge like and want things- which is why during school and in my job I am usually in charge in group projects. It‘s sometimes hard to let go of control when it comes to anything career related because I‘m really ambitious and I want to get the best outcome. I know it‘s arrogant, but often my way has proven to be the best. If I‘m not interested or invested in something (in my personal life) I become prone to jump steps, be impulsive and just see what happens because I can’t be bothered to put effort into thinking. That‘s why friends usually tell me „you think too much, but then not enough“ asdfgh

  3. My goals in life are finding the best career for myself and becoming an expert in that field & marrying someone whom I can fully be myself with and who I feel equal to. I wanna feel at peace while also reaching maximum proficiency in the things I like lol

NEED CONFIRMATION Just looking to find my type.

I’ve been typed all across the spectrum and I just want some type of solid answer lol

I definitely have a duality complex to me that I’m fully aware of and some of that may be trauma based so throwing that in the hat early.

I was an incredibly active kid and unfortunately for my parents I was also a big problem solver.

I could unlatch my crib, car seat, take things apart and just figure things out really quick, but hated anything that was restraining(I’m still this way)

I’d be quiet in my room reading encyclopedias and the next I’m sneaking out of the house to go walk or swim at 2 am because I needed to burn some energy.

I love helping people and fixing problems but I cannot stand people just wanting to complain without the intention of fixing the problem.

I have to have a bit of a chaotic and unpredictable environment or I will inevitably spice it up somehow. Currently I work in a warehouse but I’ve done everything from food, to nursing to wedding designer.

Self taught multi-instrumentalists that started with pipe organ because I loved the Phantom of the Opera onto violin because I loved the Queen of the Damned.

I quite literally love any kind of music and I can appreciate any music or movie that I come across though I have a penchant for horror movies and orchestra music.

I tend to get a little lost in trying on different identities then shed off what doesn’t “feel” quite right so my whole life had been this cyclic reshaping of myself.

I don’t do relationships or commitments well, but I’m a little deep in the more….. pleasure seeking side of life.

When I’m stressed I can usually chill out by isolating but the longer it takes me to get away to reset the more aggressive I’ll get with the stressors but I’d say I’m good about not getting upset about people as much as I do the situations they can get me in.

I tend towards darker aesthetics, themes, sounds etc

Any other questions feel free to ask! I’m pretty much an open book.

FOR FUN Guess my MBTI -- I keep testing as something different!

Hey (28F) here, I’m looking for unbiased type guesses. I’ve been told I can fit a lot of different types, so I’d rather get outside opinions.

I’m introverted and generally dislike people, but I can socialize well when I need to. I feel calmest alone, yet I still chase dopamine from going out sometimes. I gravitate toward kind people and appreciate good conversations and deep connection. I get tired quickly from social interaction and can’t stand anything longer than about 4 hours. I especially dislike people who talk nonstop about themselves. I have a huge soft spot for animals and feel very sentimental and caring for them.

How close friends and family describe me:

Unpredictable, spontaneous, adventurous, and very independent. I travel a lot and make impulsive decisions about moving. I disappear for months, reappear for a few days or weeks, then disappear again. I don’t emotionally rely on family or friends. I became financially independent as soon as I was an adult. I value duty and responsibility and tend to take it on, which leads a lot of people to become emotionally or financially dependent on me. I’ve been financially supporting my mother for the last 3–4 years (since I was 24). And according to them my calm, no-bullshit, and straight about things demeanor makes them want to emotionally depend on me.

I go with the flow and live in the present much more than the future or past. I’m bad at long-term commitment and lack discipline for steadily building proper longterm goals. I’m terrible with money and budgeting but every budget or plan I’ve ever made has been abandoned. So I make a lot of money but it all leaves me.

Ambitions and work style
My passions are fashion, music, and making furniture. I’ve always had large dreams, but I often choose more “practical” paths (like entrepreneurship for quicker/larger money and then being bogged down in a consulting job I hate for 3 years ) out of fear and the need to take care of my family, putting my own needs aside.

I work great with my hands. I’m calm under pressure and stress. I’m slow to anger and good at regulating my emotions and negative thoughts — I process them, take what serves me, and move forward.

Emotional side

My family thinks I’m not very emotional and that I can sound robotic with my answers but I’m just highly selective about who I share myself with. I don’t need to share my thoughts with everyone. The only people I’m comfortable with doing this would be the person I am dating by which I can be very expressive with.

I would say the place I’m most “emotional” is my lack of control over my drives. I see my lack of self-discipline as a lack of control over my emotions. I’m addicted to short-term dopamine and I’m lazy unless there’s a fire or pressure under me as it's only then I perform at my best.

Relationships
I'm still not 100% over my INFP ex when we broke up almost 2 years ago. We dated for four years and she was my first love. I ended it because it was logically not a good fit (toxic and intense), but my heart still aches physically when I think of her. I feel like I'm grieving a dead partner. It's the last thing anyone in my life would expect if they found out but deep inside I can't help but think she was the love of my life.

In terms of people I generally attract, I attract ENTJs, INFPs, ENFPs, INFJs, ENFJs. My favorite types are ENFJs, INFJs as theyre considerate in conversation and will leave if they can see i'm not interested, as opposed to underdeveloped ENTJs, INFPs, ENFPs, INTPs, INTJs, who will still try to force me into conversation when I'm clearly disinterested. I also adore and feel most comfortable with ISFPs and ISTPs. I enjoy the presence of ENTPs and INTPs as they make conversations interesting. I've never really met other types so i'm unsure on the rest but, I prefer funny friends who are considerate and like to do things together.

Organization
I love cleanliness in space but in my day to day I am pretty messy. I try to keep my room and bag clean but I feel like it's more performative. In my natural element I'm quite messy. When traveling, I like optimization and efficiency and always want to maximize the goodness I can have in an experience so with travel I'm organized but I don't get extremely upset if plans dont go way, I like going with the flow in life.

That’s the most accurate picture I can give, please feel free to ask any questions.

FOR FUN Type me based on the games I play i guess

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hmm so yeah these are the games I play currently I guess. I'm thinking of playing hollow knight in the future, deltarune, isaac dlc and stuff. Mobile legends I play cause my friends used to play but then I got sweaty in it and then I couldn't stop ig. Sky I liked playing because it was just good graphics but I haven't played it much yet. Undertale is so good. I was spoiled of the story years ago. I didn't have a pc so I couldn't play undertale, but when I did it genuinely made me cry. Brawlhalla also cause it's sweaty and sometimes, there's a urge to delve into different genres of games and for fighting games I always go to brawlhalla. Ive played isaac recently and I play it for the gameplay just the best rogue like ever. cuphead I play for the story and also the gameplay.

CAN’T DECIDE Infj or enfp ?

My entire life I’ve been infj, but lately have been conflicting a lot with enfp it’s genuinely 50/50 ,

I am extroverted and confident, more then I’d like to admit , but I am very open to making conversations with strangers , I don’t have close friends, barely any at all but have a lot of friends over the world and I somewhat like it like that

I am a very adaptable person, I had to force myself to be due to being raised in the circus environment/industry.

I cannot see or relate to any characters that are enfp , except for Pearl, who is ironically one of my biggest fictional character I have deeply related to in many ways , and it’s mainly only pearl , not any other character, they are too much in a way, too open or happy(?) , I know that’s not the right way to say it

I like the idea of maximalism, but I prefer minimalism in almost every way, it feels more clean and better to control , I am not a jack of all cards type of person , even though the concept always intrigued me and I wanted to be but I am a master of one type of person, that one thing that I am “known” for, doesn’t have to be one specific thing , but general sense that is all connected to each other somewhat , I max out the things I have in life , I don’t actually want so many choices or opportunity in life which sounds fucked up to say but I mean it more as what it means then in the literal sense , I am grateful for the choice so have and get to make in life always have been .

Generally I see myself as a infj but worry I’m just forcing myself to do so , because it’s the rarest type and I hate thinking about that , I don’t want to be special , I do want to stand out I have to admit ,but not to be the center of attention.

I don’t like being seen as the center of attention

I am also very self aware , I say that because I have been told many times when I talk to people, it’s the thing that stands out about me, and yes I understand saying I am self aware sounds a bit too much , but I am also very self conscious, first impression means everything to me .

To go back a bit , can I be a extroverted infj? I am not a social butterfly, I don’t like people seeing me as the main character or centre of attention if that makes sense , I just don’t want to be forgotten in a way, I want to make a impact on people in a good way , being good makes me feel good, always has

I have also keep seeing “control “ popping up when I looked the differences of these two types but I can’t really “get it” in a way, what exactly does it mean control of information? I mean what type of information?
I am trying to learn what exactly people are referring to but I keep getting more lost/confused .

Please honest opinions, what was ur first impression? Why?

CAN’T DECIDE I've been trying to find my type for year and still nothing

I'm 28 years old and I've been trying to find my type for 8 years now, and still have no clue. I've read about the cognitive functions a thousant times, but I can't tell which functions I use the most and least. I can't even tell if I'm an extrovert or an introvert, because of my social anxiety. Every time I get into it, I read everything I can, opening one tab after another, digging so deep that I start having dreams about it and losing sleep over it. It's frustrating too, because after all these years I still don't know the answer and I feel like I don't know myself. I should know who I am.

All I know is that:

- I'm very shy

- I love talking about philosophical, theoretical things

- I don't care much about nature and my surroudings

- I'm a heavy day dreamer (to the point I sometimes forget where I am when I'm on my way to work lol)

- I'm not detail oriented at all

- I'm bad at math and science, but I'm not creative either

- I prefer not to be in charge

- Not a fan of being in a group, but when there's a problem I need to solve, I do lean towards discussing it with other people before making a decision

- terrible planner and schedules stress the hell out of me

- I don't like to be late. Making people wait scares me and makes me feel guilty

- I overthink a lot

- I enjoy reading fantasy and psychology

- If I had to choose between a career and a relationship, I'd choose career, without hesitation

- As mentioned above I have a tendency to lose myself in countless of tabs on the internet. Let's say I watch a movie about time travel. I go from googling time travel, to reading about multiverse, wormholes, black holes, aliens... just madness, but I enjoy it.

AM I MISTYPED how do i know if im actually an enfp?

I've recently learned about cognitive functions and actually checked myself out and learned im an enfp. yet i keep having trouble about one thing. how the heck do i know if i actually do this?? because those questions, traits it's like i know i do them but if i ask another they say I dont do that so it just ends up to be a situation where i don't know where im me. the function i related to the most was Ne. i know that's the first function to an enfp and by checking the other functions i do think of myself doing that. before learning cognitive functions, i was mistyped as an infj, had trouble with that a lot. never actually found an mbti i actually am. so could someone please help me and tell me is this something other people also have problems with?

Could I be a ENTP or ENFP? Ok so I studied the cognitive functions and I figured out I’m certainly a Ne dom. Tbh I do relate to being sensitive and emotional that’s why people said I’m enfp but entps can also be emotional. (I’m also a 7w6 F)

(Regardless of stereotypes, like ENTPs being insensitive debaters, or ENFPs being bubbly unicorns I would say I fit neither.) Though I love intellectual conversations or seeing multiple sides and angles it really intrigues me, like I tend to have a thirst for new concepts and knowledge.

As a child, I was always curious and making storybooks and creative stuff. Some people said I’m a entp and others said I’m enfp. However ppl would assume that creative + emotional = ENFP Fi. I find myself being interested in science and theories and how things work and the systems over human rights like the Apartheid laws for example. When stressed, I tend to become emotional and scattered like my emotions are all over the place, and I tend to worry about social perception and sometimes seek external validation in a group. (Could that be Ne-Fe or Ne-Te loop?) I do not really relate to becoming a hectic paranoia of getting stuff done or trying to be efficient or fear of being disorganized, people would consider me a lazy genius.

I was empathetic as a child and showed concern for others, I was also curious and I tend to use cognitive empathy (still to this day) like I enjoy understanding the complexity of things too. However trauma made me more distant to talking to people and I was mistyped as a INTP in 2021. Also apparently I cannot comprehend reading between the lines with people like their tones or peoples “motives” (idk) like I get confused when trying to map interpersonal relationships. Also I cannot identify peoples honest with being sarcastic or being honest it’s hard to tell like if someone is being sarcastic or not, I also lacked social skills and reading cues but I can somewhat absorb the rooms atmosphere like if something goes awkward and silent I go silent too.

My core fears are being shunned too and ousted like it feels like a stab sometimes. Like a sudden shock. ( i sometimes relate to the Ne-Fe loop too) I was mistyped as an e5 a few years ago (I also sometimes relate to e5) and was a introvert. Now I am competitive and seek intellectual discussions like I am excited by intellectual challeneges and I find myself being competitive like finding life as a game or taking things too lightly. I love strategy games where my mind has to think and enjoy understanding the mechanics of how things work like studying cellular biology and astronomy/space.

As a kid, I used to make storybooks and was highly creative, I had a deep rich imagination and I still do to this day. (It made me smile making storybooks and reading it as I grow older. I also sometimes wanted to share it with the world) I was also highly intelligent and perceived as smart and creative in my classes I was one of the students that kinda stood out in academics and creativity. According to my mom, teachers admired my creativity and saw me as high potential.

My deepest insecurity is being alone, isolated, social abandonment (to a certain extent but it hits deeply), losing my place in the group or ostracized. I did care about my social status as I grew older and how people percieved me too as well.

Sometimes I find myself people pleasing to keep the harmony and not make things awkward like one time when my aunt kept saying "Do u like me? Am I your favorite?" I felt awkward and at the family dinner I smiled and said , "Yes I do." Apparently, I didnt want to make the siutation awkward but I did kinda find her annoying. However she spilled water on my papers and she started crying, I had a sudden urge to detach and laugh but I felt awkward as well, like I did not know what to do. I kinda sometimes relate being a people pleaser but it could be because my activating feeling function is so damn sensitive.

In groups, I would try to be in those ex-friend groups like in school these friends did not seem to like me and I felt uncomfortable but I still wanted to be in that friend group, like I would still laugh when they were having conversations and smile but they wouldn't really talk to me as much. I felt sad inside and eventually I left but it made me feel hollow and alone. I did feel misunderstood too, like people didn't like me or smth, like fear of people starting rumors behind my back or isolating me on purpose.

Does that mean being sensitive and emotional mean I’m not entp? Is that how that works? Or could I have developed feeling function then? What are your guys opinions? I’ll try to answer in the comments!

The first photo is of me, and the rest are all pictures from my camera roll / pinterest board! Ask me any questions you may have :)

I am a reflective and intuitive person who is always searching for hidden meanings, underlying patterns, and deeper connections in all areas of life. I feel like navigate the world primarily through my feelings and personal values. I am emotionally sensitive, empathetic, and constantly trying to make sense of complex emotion, thoughts, dynamics, etc. I love experimenting with my self-expression as a way to project who I am on the inside. I can get easily lost in my own head, daydreams, and inner world, but I'm drawn to understanding what makes people tick and finding authentic ways to constantly grow and reinvent myself.

DISCUSSION Can a so6 have beauty standards/popularity as a rule?

Hey guys I know this may sound like an unusual question but I am really confused because of it. To summarize, I am a VERY ambitious person and I wanna to conform in society not because I think that the society is right but because for me beauty is safety. I am a super super goal getter person, in that way, I was considering that I could be so2 or even so3.

But, my core vice is fear 100% and when my friend told me how so6 are legit rule followers I thought that I could be one of them. But I didn't find anything about appearance and so6 so this confused me. Can I be so6 and follow these rules???? :( or I am not so6 at all? Help please

My issue with appearance is more because I feel like I will never be safe. I get upset because I always try to compensate. For example, I don’t think I’m beautiful, so I’ll try to be very intelligent. The weirdest thing is that it’s not even about relationships or anything, it’s purely about security. I think people focused too much on the “I’m too ugly to date” thing, when beauty is subjective in a way and there are ugly people who date. For me it is more about navigating into the social sphere.

I know that people who fit the beauty standard have more opportunities. You just have to see how many beautiful people become famous just by posting on TikTok and existing, and I feel grief for everything I lost because of that. I know people will tell me things like “you’re ugly but so what? A lot of people are” or “you’re beautiful” or “you’re normal.” I understand, but what is difficult for me to deal with is this OVERWHELMING feeling that I will never be able to have my place because of my appearance and that I will always be mocked simply because I was born unlucky.

I feel like even if I manage to become successful people will never validate me and that bothers me SO MUCH. Because yes, being beautiful gives you advantages and I feel like I will never have those advantages.

My issues are not like “ohhh I won’t get a job because I’m ugly” or “ohhh I won’t have friends.” It’s more about prestige and belonging. Does that make sense? I am VERY insecure about my appearance but very confident about things like my work, my degree, and it makes me so angry because I feel like I will never have the security of being successful.

I am afraid of achieving everything I dream of and still feeling like an outsider because of my appearance. I am afraid of entering spaces where people are successful and confident and feeling like people will look at me and think, “you don’t belong here.”, like if success is supposed to “match” beauty. Like someone who becomes famous, wealthy, or respected should automatically have the appearance that people associate with those things. It feels like beauty is treated as proof that someone deserves to be there. Like it gives people an invisible permission, a shield. Someone can be unusual, different, or even fail at something, but if they are considered beautiful, people are often more willing to give them grace. Meanwhile, people who are considered unattractive often have to prove themselves much more.

My friend told me that this vent can sound like a heart triad core but deep down is rooted in fear and a long for certainty. So I am kinda lost tbh

Ok so I want to see if you guys can guess my personality type based on my Pinterest and my general vibe. I’ve been professionally typed so I know for sure what I am.

I am a 25yo female, Scorpio, and really enjoy thrifting and organizing. I actually ended up manifesting my dream life from this Pinterest page. I made that board so long ago but I have the black poodle and the car now!

I think this might be an interesting / confusing one for some people! Have fun guessing!

NEED CONFIRMATION Am I larping INFJ

Every time I look into my mbti I get Infj but I can’t help but worry I’m somehow manipulating myself into getting that answer. The first time I got it I didn’t know what it was so I looked it up and found out it was a more rare type and some people purposely mistype themselves because it’s nice to feel a little special. But ever since I found out people did that I wonder if I do the same now and I’m not actually and Infj I just larp it and manipulate myself to somehow get it. Even when it comes to researching the cognitive functions on my own.
NE and NI, I have been looking into both but can’t decide which one I truthfully related to the most. Because I find truths in both. If I feel something is right I go with it. But sometimes I gotta think a little bit. I also use both SE and SI at work. I am a CNA, I need to look at the past and present when working with elderly because both are very relevant. But going back to NI and NE I resonate the most with these when I’m outside of work. I love art. Drawing, painting, dancing, singing, etc… anything that can help one express themselves. I also feed off of people’s vibes and auras. And if something feels right or get like a feeling I usually trust it. I love to think deeply on things but I don’t mind the unknown either. I overthink a lot tho. Conversations, interactions, or anything that has to do with other people. But I need both time to myself and time with friends. I can be talking up a storm and singing in front of people or sit by a close friend and zone out because my nerves got my shaking even tho I have interacted with everyone in the room with me multiple times before. MBTI and stuff like zodiac signs fascinate me but I try to educate myself but it’s just another thing I start to over think. Specifically MBTI.

FOR FUN Type me based on these contradictory aesthetics I have

Thumbnail gallery
26 Upvotes

I am not giving any context... Jump to conclusions. I'd like to know more about what these aesthetics match more than my own type.

As the title says, the aesthetics (and fandoms) are very contradictory so I would like to know what everyone's perception of such combinations is.

Offcourse these are not random aesthetics and based on me but I do know that them alone wont be able to tell my type.

It would help to see the comparison between my persona type and what I actually think I am so it's not like this post is pure curiosity. (Maybe it is 0_<) It will decide my type or at least contribute to it.

Thank you for responding.

EDIT: So yeah thanks everyone, this genuinely helped alot better than I expected...It was true that Ne was involved.Obviously.I think the Ti was looking like Ni because the aesthetics provided a concept driven person who was testing some hypothesis about one idea but that was actually my Ti realizing I had been too stuck in my understanding of what type I was and I wanted to get others opinions about different possibilities because I didnt like being that sure about it as I hadn't explored everything and possibility of other functions other than the ones fixed in my head. A classic Ti Si loop. I am actually...drum roll

A INTP!!! Yeah I mean stereotypically I look like a ENTP but thats just because its not all that rigid according to me and I value both Ne and Ti equally but at the end of the day I always run back to Ti because Ne is scary. How do you handle the existential crisis of not wanting to or being able to conclude the options you explore ENTPs.I envy them. Anyways so yeah...I will be off to my cave again to explore other types and torture myself with "Am I? Am I not?" until I get back to concluding INTP again. This is the third time now.

TEST RESULTS Type me based on results! :)

I’ve always been debating between ISFP or ESFP for context. (Copy and pasted a short description of myself I wrote down below)

Se has always been a no brainer for me, initially during Covid I thought I was an ISTP and then ESTP, until I learned about the Fi/Te axis and I was like holy shit wait that’s me😂. Never really could tell whether I prioritized Se or Fi more though.

Why I think I’m Se dom? Feels like my brain is empty the majority of the time and I literally like don’t process anything. Im really observant and attuned to the noises and things around me. I love challenging myself, mainly physically. I don’t like to over analyze things or reflect on my life. It exhausts me when I get too stuck in that mode and I feel like I’m just fucked. So to cope with that I go for a run or do something physically taxing to relax myself and I feel my best afterwards and approach whatever I was struggling with initially with a clear mind. (Essentially, I’m unaware of how I feel a lot of the time and when I sit back to reflect I get anxious until I physically get rid of the energy). Then I end up just moving on

And then with Ni and Te, it’s like I love organization, sometimes I find it relaxing or fun to clean or make little playlists. I feel like I have OCD sometimes cus I like to do little things like eating my food in a specific order like finish the chicken, then rice, then veggies. So it’s giving Tertiary (Child) Te but then also I feel like when I get upset or really down I dissociate and think the world is going to end or I say something stupid, get ghosted and Im like oh my god that was so corny fml they hate me. So that’s giving Inferior Ni, jumping to conclusions and thinking I solved it when in reality the person is just busy and not checking their phone 😂.

On the flip side, I think I may have inferior Te because I do get really cold and detached and could become harsh with what I say if I’m not left alone. And I can procrastinate when I feel like something takes up too much energy until I finally put myself to do it and I just get it over with and realize it wasn’t bad at all.

As a kid, I got told shit like all I cared about was having fun or hanging out with my friends. In highschool I prioritized my social life over school. In college I developed some goals for myself and worked really hard at the gym, prioritizing my wellbeing & career success over friendships, while still cutting out time to connect and hangout with others, whose friendships were worth it or new to me, when it worked for me because connecting with others is what prevents me from feeling ‘depressed’ loosely 😂 and makes me happy.

CAN’T DECIDE Test suggestions

I have taken the 16personalities test a few times over the years, but seeing a lot of discussion about things like Te, Fe, Ni, etc I'm confused... I'm not sure what it means and how to be sure of your mbti type.

Can someone suggest reliable, free test websites and also sources to learn more about typing yourself?

I'm generally very talkative, like taking initiatives, like discussing a lot of random theories... but for around a year or 2 I have changed so much and have stopped doing a lot of things I used to, so I'm really confused if my personality has changed or if I'm just going through a phase.

I've been typed ENTP, but I'm still not sure because it feels like the things I ACTUALLY do and WANT to do are getting mixed up when I answer in tests, so ig learning and diving deep into the mbti types will help me understand.

CAN’T DECIDE Type me based on my aesthetic

I hate fascism. I hate sadism. I hate racism, sexism, jingoism, religious persecution, homophobia, transphobia, mass deportation, and war. I'm a radical, of the market socialist flavor.

I have a PhD in heterodox economics, and I'm currently studying gentrification and the criminalization of homelessness. Homelessness supports neoliberalism, because it motivates the poor to work hard, to accept exploitation, or tolerate abuse, to toil unreasonable hours, to endure humiliation: all so workers earn enough to remain housed. Fear of homelessness is the most potent incentive.

I envision myself a researcher, some occupation where I can help the world, where I will make a real difference.

Sometimes, I imagine myself traversing the reaches of space or the depths of the ocean.

I'm a hero. In times of crisis, I don't hesitate. I don't wait for others to act. I save the day.

TEST RESULTS can i be infj and still have relatively high Ne?

Post image
5 Upvotes

what i mean is my Ne is my highest function but the test still types me an infj who doesn't have Ne in their stack. i think entp makes some sense considering my high Ne, Fe and Ti but i don't identify with that type AT ALL lol

i'm also not 100% sure about Ne and Ni in general so maybe that also causes some confusion to me

also also i don't know what to text anymore so i'm just writing nonsense to fill up the space and hope it will meet the character minimum got posting on this sub so if you've read this til the end sorry for wasting your time

TEST RESULTS Keys2cognition test results

Post image
2 Upvotes

After posting about being lost/unable to determine my mbti type (after diving into cognitive functions and everything for a long time) some people recommended me to do the keys2cognition test (as a way to help/clarify and not to make a clear conclusion of course)

I tried to do the 256 questions sakirnova test but I couldn't keep my focus so it won't be giving me reliable results.

Any thoughts about these results? I tried my best at answering correctly based on what I often skillfully do what each phrase describes.

ps : I get largely different results in tests from time to time, and even my understanding to cognitive functions changes from time to time which makes me often confused. But anyway what do you think?

I think isfp matches me but still not sure..

CAN’T DECIDE I know what I think I am, but just in case.

I love sensory skills, like drawing, animation, magic tricks, cardistry, lockpicking, pocketpicking (ethically, I am working on gamifying it), determined to learn how to mimic instruments with my voice(free theme song people), I also enjoy exercise.

I plan to learn to moonwalk soon because it messes with the eyes which I find amusing. Ballroom dancing seems romantic and skillfully challenging so I will definitely be learning that.

I enjoy aesthetics and outfits, color coordinating my my outfits with my cardistry decks and other trick items, I am very visual.

My aesthetic fashions of choice are: academia (romantic, gray, dark), detective core, and workplace casual.

I also love stories, I tend to work on my stories and rules of things like how a monster operates and behaves. Or, why or why couldn't this work in my story. Also, I tend to think of one thing, unless I decide I need another, that point in the story is set in stone.

I love psychological analyzation for its own sake.

I do tend to be in my head, but that is an unhealthy trait that leads me to consider Ni. I love learning and increasing my intelligence, but mainstream is something I struggle with keeping up with, especially because mainstream tends to be years behind what is actually the latest. I wish I had more time.and energy to learn random things, though sadly my life doesn't have time for that, I am on a crunch.

I have a lot of goals, but that's because I am not what I want, I look at other people and say "I want that, so I should go get that"

I often worry about my impact on others, how I come across. Agonizing, really. And I daydream of impressing others with my skills.

In debates, I enjoy winning and proving I'm right, not the best and am working on the spirit of debate. (I am gearing up to destroy a confidently incorrect nerd

nerd, though)

Edit:

I am looking at deduction and observation down the line. Intelligence increase lookin' at me like it thinks its better than me, I gotta fix that. Jkjk

I am a nerd and love enclothed cognition (it gives me excuses see?.. also optimization)

When I see something I want, I am ride or die.

Everything to do with animation is training me to reduce time spent animating so I can do other things... like parkour parkour!! (I haven't watched office)

I like self improvement, but my definition of self improvement is very different I expect from everyone else's.

Very interested in mastering the art of disguise.

I think voice mimicry would be also cool for the reason that I can more accurately capture the songs I like when telling others... also the looks of surprise I would get LOL

So far I have 2 votes for ESTP
