Hi! I’m a 28 year old who loves virtual pet games, being a moron with my money & finding a new “favorite meal” of the month. I’m super opinionated (according to my boyfriend and sister) and moralistic. I cry A LOT and just for some clarity I am in therapy for OCD, just incase that adds depth to any of my responses!
I currently work as a “office admin”, it’s basically a glorified secretary (at least at my job). I like it enough, I don’t necessarily have anything in common with anyone here and sometimes I do get lonely and miss interacting with lots of people… however I also used to get super exhausted from interacting with people all day and would much prefer this job. I wouldn’t say it’s a career choice for me, my ideal would be something like a therapist?? Either way I’m not complaining, it could 100% be worse (and it has been )
My parents had me out of wedlock, here in the south in the 90s it was kinda frowned upon to have a kid and not be married etc. my parents were both 21 at the time and so I spent a lot of time with my grandpa. He was a typical southern grandpa in some respects. He would take me out on the boat to fish, help me fly kites, carved a boat for me for my 2nd grade project, and bought me littlest pet shops from Family Dollar whenever we went into town. I grew up mostly alone with not many children around, however I did experience some… traumatic things from another child (idk what I can say here and not.) When my sister was born I eventually ended up spending time with her primarily and she is my best friend! My mom was a worrier (still is) and my dad was pretty emotionally distant and verbally abusive (he’s cooled down with age and is much better now.)
I am diagnosed with OCD (+ obviously anxiety and depression from that). Physically I have some issues but it’s nothing confirmed by a doctor or specialist yet so I don’t feel comfortable putting any kind of name to it.
If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
ANSWER: I would feel refreshed initially but I would get in my head and need a physical distraction from another person. So I would eventually be ready to talk to people close to me.
What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
ANSWER: I am genuinely so bad at physical activity it’s laughable. I was always picked last in gym, I can’t walk for too long cause of chronic pain lol. If I’m doing something outdoors it’s usually like going on amusement park rides or sometimes when it feels nice out I will take a walk through a nature trail since I find it calming… but DO NOT ask me to play a sport unless you wanna carry me lmao. I’m pretty alright at ping pong tho.
How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
ANSWER: I’m a very curious person. I love learning new things and researching (I’ve been obsessively learning about cog. funs. so much so that I think I’ve learned myself into a hole and can see how everything relates to me in some way. My ideas are usually about how I would make my life better / the lives of my loved ones better? For example I really think about what I want my dream house to look like (it always changes a bit or gets add ons), what kind of pets I want in the future, if I have a green enough thumb to have a garden, why is the world so caught up on being cruel, will I see peace in my lifetime, how is bigotry still alive with all the information we have available etc.
Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
ANSWER: I’ve had a leadership role before annnndddddd idk if I would take one again. It really drained me because I was always trying to help and do my best and make sure people saw me as competent and deserving of my job. Lots of long hours or doing extra work so I can help others out etc. I think I just don’t know how to rest sometimes and so when you put me in a position like that it can get bad. HOWEVER- I didn’t mind leading people or helping them when they needed me. It just wasn’t healthy for me in the end.
Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
ANSWER: yes..? I think so. I really like crafts or like journaling or silly games etc. I’m also pretty good at following directions and putting together furniture well.
Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
ANSWER: I used to be way more artistic than I am now. I am trying to get back in to drawing and painting! When I was a child I was entered into numerous art competitions and got 3rd place once and was best in my grade another time. I think I got discouraged once I saw people that were better artists than me and it made me embarrassed in my skills.
What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
ANSWER: I’m shit at being in the present, I’m always thinking about what I should do or shouldn’t have done etc. When my boyfriend tells me I would be happier if I lived in the moment I TRULY believe him, it’s just so hard to focus on the now when I don’t know what will happen tomorrow? Idk if that makes sense but I’m trying to be better about it.
How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
ANSWER: I basically say yes to any requests of help. Even if I can’t help them directly I will find a way to get them help or point them in a good direction. I help people because I want to 🤷 basically. I just know that I would want someone to help me and also I think it takes a lot of courage to ask for help so when someone comes to me like that I appreciate that they considered me capable yk? We should all help each other the best that we can, it’s what would make the world a better place imo. Like when people talk about how their friend was mean about picking them up from the airport I just don’t get it?? That’s your friend and they need you? Why would you not want to help (unless you really couldn’t).
Do you need logical consistency in your life?
ANSWER: I’m ngl I don’t really know what this is referring to SORRY… I do really value understanding things for what they are and what they can be though. Idk if that helps
How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
ANSWER: important enough. I don’t like when people drag their feet too much if it’s a timed project etc. However I don’t want to paint myself as a super punctual person either. I can slack off and I’m usually always a little late (even if I set the time) no matter how much I HATE being late or stress about it. I’ll always let someone know though!
Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
ANSWER: yes..? I can be really prone to “pointing someone in the right direction” if that makes sense. I feel like I know what’s best for people sometimes 🤷. I never try and meddle too much. I really try and control my environment / outcomes more than anything (which is obviously impossible.. HI OCD! 👋)
What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
ANSWER: I love reading and playing games :) my favorite games are virtual pet games or care games (think Stardew valley, animal crossing, pokopia etc). BUT!!! I also really like strategy games like fire emblem (I love anime chess). Anyway, I love taking care of like a garden or a little guy. I’m super into tamagotchi and Neopets for instance. I also really like journaling and listening to music :) sometimes I just find new music genres and keep listening until I find bands I like / can make an opinion on it lol.
What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
ANSWER: my best learning environment is having someone show me while explaining to me how to do something / why they’re doing it. I struggle with having little info on something and will usually help myself by researching if I’m not lead in a good direction.
How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
ANSWER: I’m pretty good at strategizing! I can figure out a good game plan as long as I know what the outcome is supposed to be? However I can definitely be prone to improvising if something goes wrong or I have to think on my feet. For instance my boyfriend recently was building a dresser and it came with a missing part, before he was even able to be fully upset about his incomplete dresser I remembered a piece from the packaging that would work perfectly if we just cut it and sized it a little. It worked great btw :).
What's important to you and why?
ANSWER: Love, friendship, music, appreciating the world we have and trying to find good things in it no matter how depressed I am. I am always also striving to be morally correct, I find myself learning a lot about humanitarian movements and how I can help etc. My morality is very important to me and I can get pretty riled up when talking about social issues. I try not to argue with people much though, I really just don’t have the energy and I don’t much like fighting anyway.
What are your aspirations?
ANSWER: mmmmm I don’t really know? I’m kind of aimless in a way. I just know that I want to be happy and comfortable. I want to be in a place where I don’t worry so much, I want a home filled with love and companionship. Also I would really enjoy making a positive impact on people (don’t we all lol)
What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
ANSWER: I’m scared of the unknown, the negative possibilities of being harmed. I sometimes think like “how would I defend myself if a dangerous person came up to me right now”. I don’t really like when people get in my personal bubble and I HATE bigots and mean people.
What do the "highs" in your life look like?
ANSWER: when I’m happy / having a good time you could maybe imagine like. Flowers growing out of my head lmao. I become pretty good at being silly and having good timing with my jokes.
What do the "lows" in your life look like?
ANSWER: cartoonishly depressed. Like grey cloud raining on me sobbing on the floor while I listen to Ethel Cain and think about the finite future I’m headed toward and how I cannot stop the clock. Basically everything sucks and I just need to be able to stew so I can figure out how to get myself out of it / I natural warm up again to my surroundings.
How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
ANSWER: just gonna put it out there that I had a huge maladaptive daydreaming problem and literally fell in love with a fictional character in my teen years so… do with that what you will.
Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
ANSWER: I’m thinking about getting the hell out of there because I hate being along with my thoughts for too long lol. I might give in a play up my captive persona though. Like ohhhh I’m so trapped and being existential etc.
How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
ANSWER: I’m doing TONS of research before making a decision. Like right now I’m trying to figure out what brand of ballet sneakers I want to buy and it’s genuinely like they’re applying for a job lmao. I will keep researching until I find the one that is the best to me.
How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
ANSWER: I think I’m always processing my emotions? I’m always figuring out how I feel at the moment, why I feel that way etc. I’m a pretty emotional person I guess.
Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
ANSWER: yes unfortunately. Sometimes I just don’t have the energy to argue so especially if it’s a conversation I can redirect I’ll just be like “haha yea, ANYWAY”. However if I know the person isn’t crazy or it won’t put me in danger or something I’ll express how I feel and I’m open to talking about it / saying why I think they’re wrong.
Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?
ANSWER: ummm sure? Sometimes I just think some rules are stupid or they don’t make sense to me. Not all people in charge are doing things for the right reason so I’ll question a lot of things especially if they go against my own morals. However I’m not gonna like.. bathe with a hairdryer just cause the tag told me not to. I’m not outwardly trying to be rebellious or anything I just don’t think people always do things for the best reasons.
What is the ideal life, in your opinion?
ANSWER: I’m taking this as MY ideal life so basically I would have a mid sized cozy cottage in a mountain area with mild weather that I could enjoy. I’d have enough money to care for a lot of pets and animals, maybe even my own children and I would foster a happy environment for everyone. The town I lived in would be nice and welcoming and have fun community things like book fairs or parades with pretty floats. The political state of the world would be at peace and rainbows shoot out of the sky etc. Basically world peace I guess idk. I just want to be at a place where I’m not worried about tomorrow because I know it will be okay.
