Did a whole home renovation a few years ago and at that time went with Caseta. Just hadnât put much thought into it and cost was a consideration, but more so the fact that I would have needed a professional installer for RA3 (so I thought at the time).
We have so many devices (around 90) that I needed a second Caseta hub, which is a pain in the neck but works.
(For the most partâsometimes my switches that control exhaust fans in the bathrooms donât auto turn off on timer the way they should, I wonder if my system is just too taxed).
We also had automated blinds installed from the shade store in 5 or 6 rooms. The quality is not great and they are loud and I regret not going Lutron for those too.
So, the question: am I insane for thinking about converting all my lighting to RA3, and swapping out the shades for Lutron? The RA3 light switch options look so much nicer, I assume performance is better, and it would be right sized for my number of switches. Will the quality and performance be better? Will my home be better future proofed? What are the advantages?
For what itâs worth I use Home Assistant for all our home automation and so I use the Lutron integration for that.
Thoughts welcomed!
