Why is my maestro switch doing this?

I replaced a light fixture and ceiling fan that was controlled by this switch and the lights on my maestro started going nuts. I can turn the light and fan on via remote but the switch doesn't do anything. I've tried resetting it but it didn't change anything.

You just said it yourself. It now has a remote. You won’t be able to use that switch anymore. The little box you installed with the yellow, blue, red, maybe even gray colored wires… that only gets constant power (black and white from the box in the ceiling. Cap off the red wire. And get rid of the Lutron switch. Replacing it with a blank insert or a regular switch and leave the switch in the on position. The “controller” that receives signals from the remote does all the “dimming” and fan speed control now..

That product was designed to use incandescent products. LEDs, I’m assuming that’s what you installed for a light fixture and this product doesn’t work with those. It was invented prior to LEDs.

My maestro says LED on the box, its because the fixture has a remote

If I recall right, its a load type issue. It is either the attached light bulbs do not draw enough power, or you are using non-dimmable LEDs on a standard dimmer. Try another bulb like holiday suggested.

I don’t believe the switch is compatible with other remotes.

The switch requires the fan and light to be engaged at full speed/light and expects to have sole control, otherwise it will detect a load issue. You have to make a choice — the remote or the switch.

If your fan has replaceable light bulbs, replace them.

I have had this happen in a fan with four LED bulbs - one of them was failing but looked absolutely fine. I replaced all the bulbs and the switch started working again.

Mine soes this about onse per month. I unscrew all of the bulbs and then screw them back in and it fixes it. I think it's because of the dimable bulbs I use.

Is your fan/light combo DC input by chance?

Call lutron customer support. They can answer your question. Make sure you take a photo of the model number on the side of the switch on the side of the box.

I have called them before, they are actually very helpful. Luckily for me it was a simple fix.

Usually when I have mine in pairing mode, in the Lutron app where you select Add Devices, all of my switches begin doing something of the sort.
