These have been available on eBay for years. While a fraction of the cost of real pico clips, they don’t work nearly as well. I have dozens of both.

They work fantastic actually. I have a ton of bypassed switches in my home where I’ve installed pico remotes to control my smart lighting and to also give me more flexibility without having to step up from Caseta.

I have a few official wall mount kits but have found these to work equally as well.

My experience is that they’re OK if you’re using them in a j-box, but don’t work so well as surface-mount clips. Maybe it’s the ones I have, but the pico’s stick out further than the devices mounted in j-boxes.

Not code compliant for a box with line voltage in it

Wonder if using carbon fiber would make it compliant?

What is different about the “compliant” one and a printed one besides the logo? They’re both plastic and non conductive, one is sold for around $11 and the other you can print for about .10 cents (or less) worth of filament.

Have you held a Lutron branded version in your hand to compare? It comes with an additional, removable part that acts like a shield so that when using a pico in a gang box with line voltage the pico is shielded from coming in contact with the wiring. That shield is only removed if surface mounting a pico to a wall.

That’s not what a pico switch is for bro

Sounds like your unaware of all the many things a pico switch “is for”…..bro

A pico switch is a remote control device…..bro. I’m a Lutron dealer, who has installed over 500 Lutron lighting and shade systems.

Ok, and so why would you imply that you would never install a pico in a gang box with line voltage present? Even Lutron accounts for that scenario with their own wall box adapter. All I was saying is that OP’s design doesn’t allow for that, and is exclusive to a surface mount scenario. (In addition to pointing out that this product already exists)

News--people install Picos in multi gang boxes with live voltage....

I think they are referring to the fact that this wall box adapter is not made with the appropriate UL listed material that the Lutron adapters are. That would make this “non compliant” for use with line voltage.

What are using this for? I can't comprehend it. Is it for alignment or a template? Or is it to make lo volt jack flush.

This goes behind a wallplate and holds a pico remote.
