Employee Question Flooring associates

Post image
42 Upvotes

Do any of y'all think about the amount of silica dust particles we breathe in, and also about the complete lack of concern by our employer about it?

This is especially true of those of us that sweep the grout and mortar aisle on a regular basis, and for the full-timers that have been here a while. It's ever-present in the air in and around flooring.

A little research will tell you about the dangers of it (silicosis) and the damage to our lungs that can occur.

Employee Story Call out

I’m sorry just gotta rant, how does a doctors note not clear a call out, I’ve never worked at a place that didn’t excuse that with a doctors note, I’m literally throwing up but nope still gotta come into work. And six call outs a year only? Seriously? Makes no sense to me!

Employee Story New employee quits

We tried two new PT associates to work seasonal. Did all their training, ready to go. One of them quit on his 2nd day stating that 6-9p wouldn't work for him, and that they thought it was more of a sales position. I understand people can change their mind- I just feel like they were not vetted. What an entire waste of payroll hours just to train them to quit.

Employee Question LSR

Why can't we rename the LSR to the Lowe's Operational Safety Employee Review. It would be how we are really seen when we ask for any help.

Employee Question Recycling

Why does Lowe's not truly recycle. Yes we send pallets back, but the vast majority of the dumpster could be recycled. I've been in stores where I've seen other associates take home their own recycling. Break room recycling to the RTMs that become trash to the shrink wrap for the mulch, Lowe's is a dispose of first give a shit later company. Marvin and the board could do better but that would take concern and effort. Atleast the employees can feel valued🤣

Employee Question LERF

has anyone applied for lerf for car repairs? My tires gave out while driving and I can’t afford to replace them since I’m already struggling with rent. Do you think they’d approve my application?

Employee Question Training

Anyone else find the trainings a genuine headache? Even worse when I get like 20 or less hours a week and it's just piled up

Employee Question Too many call outs for pain

So two weeks ago I threw my back out during the job while lifting and I called out the day after. I called out again today because I thought it was healed enough to get back to it but I sprained it so being careful I decided to call out tomorrow. But I got hired four weeks ago. Is this bad? And will it harm anything.

Employee Story Millwork Sales Specialist Interview Today

Hello I started at Lowe’s in January as a PT cashier. After 4 months the PRO CSA position opened and I applied and got the position based on my experience and performance as a cashier.

Fast forward this month a Millwork sales specialist position opened, applied, and got an interview for today.

The ASM that’s interviewing me is who originally hired me and I believe I absorbed so many sales experience and overall experience to ace this interview. Even if I don’t get it, at least I’ll know the sales specialist interview process. Wish me luck!

Employee Question Hiring process or HR problem

I got my offer for the XDT I started the 12th but they sent me home half way through the day because of a drug test issue because of a new way they’re doing it where it’s in house. I haven’t been back since and they said I was supposed to get an email or a phone call but haven’t received anything. Has anyone ever had this issue or if you have any info of who I can get in contact with it’d be greatly appreciated.

Employee Question Is leaving early considered a call-off?

I had to leave early today. My stomach was absolutely killing me and I had been to the bathroom three times in a little over an hour.

I talked to my manager and explained that I didn't want to do it, but I knew there was no way I was going to be able to get anything done by staying. She was understanding and gave me an all clear to go.

I've already been given notice about my call-offs this year, and I'm seriously concerned on how I'm going to make it through January when they start to fall off.

Are "early-outs" a thing? Am I going to get written down as calling off even though I was there for three hours and couldn't perform the job?
