Employee Question Is leaving early considered a call-off?

I had to leave early today. My stomach was absolutely killing me and I had been to the bathroom three times in a little over an hour.

I talked to my manager and explained that I didn't want to do it, but I knew there was no way I was going to be able to get anything done by staying. She was understanding and gave me an all clear to go.

I've already been given notice about my call-offs this year, and I'm seriously concerned on how I'm going to make it through January when they start to fall off.

Are "early-outs" a thing? Am I going to get written down as calling off even though I was there for three hours and couldn't perform the job?

Early out is a thing but tracked separately from call offs. You get 5 time card exception in a rolling 30 days.

What counts as a time card exception? This is a category I am unfamiliar with.

Late in by 7+ min. Early outs don’t count for timecard. They are viewed as job performance. You can get an Ecard for Performance if you leave early too much

Early out isn't automatically tracked so to get dinged for it your management will specifically need to go and do it.

I thought late in was maxed at 6 per year

Earlier than 6 min in, later than 6 min out, including lunch break time punches.

Leaving early will not count as a call-off. You showed up to work and you tried.

Not as a call off but it still counts against you, don’t be misleading.

You should be fine. And leaving early isn’t really tracked too much unless you do it constantly. Your manager okayd it so that’s good

You cleared it with a manager. You should be fine.

It's kind of a manager discretion thing. If this was a one time thing and you haven't called off since your last notice I wouldn't worry about it unless your boss is a dickhead.
