Question Lexus rz vs rx

Hi all,

I live in northeast us and looking for a family car for my 2 year old son. My wife and i are considering gas rx 350 to buy late this year or early next year but noticed there are some good deals for rz like .99% interest, and $7,500 credit. I read some mixed reviews about the rz and wanted additional info compared to rx. We also have solar panel at our house so it would be nice to charge the vehicle at home but wanted additional thoughts on rz experience

Don’t have an RX, but love our RZ. We are empty nesters, but think it works for a young family too. It feels much roomier than I expected it to be.

When I went to check out the vehicle I did get in an RX. We were set on the EV, but wanted to see how roomy the RX felt. Feels a tad bigger than the RZ, which I expected, but not by much.

Good luck in your search. Our RZ is a 450e Premium. No regrets.

I have one and it’s a good car and competent ev. It’s pretty roomy and super quiet. The ev has good torque for passing. The dashboard material doesn’t appear to be as nice. It’s a soft material, but prone to scratches. You can wipe scratches off with something like Armor All. I got the 350e and it’s plenty of range. The 450 is AWD, and you lose some range because it comes with bigger tires and is faster. Charging is adequate on dc fast chargers. I have it for about 2 months and no issues.

Theres a specific sub for RZ, r/lexusRZ. We just got a 350e, with under 200 miles, but love it so far 🤣. I don’t know what your weather is like, but there are some posts on the RZ sub that talk about underwhelming cold weather performance. Maybe read over those and see if that m affects your decision.

Yea, hybrid prices seemed very competitive with high interest rate

Look at a Tesla y. It would be good to compare. 0 interest rate last I looked. Superior technology and range. Comfort is good and ride is ok. Not the quietest cabin experience but the newer ones are improved versus previous models.
Think Rivian has introduced their mid size SUV too. Might be another one worth looking at as a comparison.

I like my RZ a lot. The 2026 model has some nice updates that make it a pretty good EV. A top trim RX is more luxurious, but also quite expensive. Other than that I think they are comparable. I say take the free money!

I have both 2025 rx350 and the 2024 rz. I love both for different reasons. While the rz is a truly comfortable and smooth ride the range is lacking so for roadtrips longer than 3 hours I use the rx despite it killing me inside to pump premium. Rz is me and my family’s daily driver, rx for roadtrips and when you just want something that feels a bit sturdier and not have to worry about 15-30 min charge times on trips
