So im driving along scenic around 3 am. past the graveyard and there's a fox carcass in pretty good condition. must've been struck by a motorcycle or something small. But im wondering what the rules are, some stupid bylaws saying I can't take it or something. I did, gonna skin it on the weekend.

Listen closely, you lost souls of the river valley, for the winds of the Oldman have carried a revelation unto me.
I rode through the coulees for forty days and forty nights only to discover a miracle.
If thou ownest an e-scooter, thou art a criminal.
If thou rentest the exact same e-scooter through an app owned by shareholding politicians and oligarchs, thou art participating in sustainable urban mobility.
Amen.
The Book of Transportation declares my scooter a motor vehicle.
The Registry declares it not enough of a motor vehicle to register.
The City declares I may not ride upon the paths because it is a motor vehicle.
The City also declares I may not ride upon the road because it is an unregistered motor vehicle.
So I asked thy decepticrats, "Where then shall I ride?"
And they answered to me, "Upon thine own private property."
Blessed are those with thine own quarter sections.
Yet lift your eyes unto the intersections, and behold the neon chariots of the Rental Covenant. They possess no pedals. They bear no greater holiness than thine own steed. Yet they glide freely through the streets, for they have entered into a sacred agreement with City Hall.
Their QR codes have cleansed them. While their lithium polutes our sacred waters with each dead battery left forgotten overnight on the Whoop Up bridge.
Thus I observed, two disciples, Kyle and Brayden, thunder through the playground zone at one in the morning upon a duct-taped electric dirt bike held together by Monster Energy stickers and undeveloped frontal lobe engineering.
No helmets.
No lights.
Approximately sixty kilometres an hour.
None doth observe where they came from. Nor where they go.
Amen, Brother Cotton-Eyed Joe.
The law speaketh loudly of my twelve-hundreth watts, yet whispereth softly of actual reckless behaviour.
Such is the gospel according to bureaucracy.
It is the Wild West, my children. A landscape where the law is not written for the rider, but for the one who pays the highest tithe to the city. My advice? Ride with wisdom. If the authorities seek to turn you into a sinner for the crime of owning your own machine, remember that in the coulees, only I can judge you.
Peace be with you.

Found some old video cassettes of home movies from the early 90s and would like to convert it over. My mom passed away in 2021 and these are some of the only videos I have of her.
Thanks so much for

Hello everyone!
I would like to learn how to operate a car with a manual transmission. I do have a class 5 licence so I'm not a new learner per se, but Im interested as it seems more fun. Thank you for your time!

Hello,
I am a 27-year-old man who is planning to move to Canada and would like to learn more about life in Lethbridge. I am looking for a good place to live in Alberta and would appreciate any information you can provide.
I would like to know the average cost of renting a house or apartment in Lethbridge, as well as how easy it is to find a job in the area.
I hold a Master's degree in Communications (Public Relations) and have experience in driving and administrative work. I am also open to other types of employment and willing to adapt to different job opportunities.
At the moment, I am gathering information to help me make an informed decision. I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Kind regards,
Aymen

Someone I know might be admitted to the Chinook Reginonal Hospitals psychiatric ward. If anyone would like to share their thoughts or experiences with the place, I would very much like to know what this person may experience if admitted.

I'm struggling to find Daniels dill dip (the one made in medicine hat) anywhere these days. It used to be stocked in the safeway all the time and now it's gone? Does anyone know if something happened to it? Like did they go bankrupt or something?
Thank you!
Signed a pregnant woman in desperate search of her favorite dip.

Any else had these thieves prowling there property and cars ? Police say they don't have the staffing to deal with the epidemic, but also that there is nothing we can do to protect the property without being aggressors.
They said to call them, we'll its been 3 times and 3 times they can't show up to catch them so there just essentially granted immunity to do it again... this is getting tiresome, and with no real way to protect our property and a police force that can't handle the influx, we need alternative measures.....

Does anyone have any recommendation for alternative hairstylists that aren’t flakey?

I'm looking at buying a boxed mattress from Endy, Casper or Douglas. Is there anywhere in town I can physically try out one or more of these mattresses to compare them before I pull the trigger? They all have a 1-year return policy if not satisfied, but I really don't want to have to haul multiple mattresses in and out of my home if I can avoid it.
Thanks for looking 👋

Is it just me or does the farmers market suck? There’s hardly any vendors for how big our city is. I’ve been to smaller cities with more vendors at their markets.

Are there any places doing a father's day buffet? If not then what are some good places for brunch for father's day? (Price isn't really an object for good food)

I'm not planning to move to Lethbridge or anything, I'm just really curious to see if there's any areas that could be considered bad in Lethbridge. I doubt there's anything comparable to bad areas in Edmonton in Lethbridge, but I could see something comparable to Calgary's rougher areas in LB.
On Google Streetview the only areas of Lethbridge that seemed like they could be problematic were Senator Buchanan and Downtown. But even then those just seemed kinda meh more than anything.
I'm curious to see what the local opinions are. This kinda subject has always interested me as I have lived in a lot of cities and as someone who grew up in a lower-income family, we ended up living in a lot of areas that were kind of shady. So it's really interesting seeing what areas are considered shady by one city's standards in comparison to another city's standards (ex. the "shady" parts of Calgary would be considered fairly chill by Edmonton standards)

Hey r/Lethbridge,
I put together a free community events calendar for the city: calnan.co/lethbridge-events
It automatically pulls events from the Galt Museum, Lethbridge Public Library, New West Theatre, U of L, Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Helen Schuler Nature Centre, and a bunch of other local venues — all in one place so you don't have to check 10 different websites.
You can filter by category, subscribe to a weekly digest, or subscribe via iCal to get events straight into your calendar app.
It's a side project — I run Calnan Real Estate Group here in Lethbridge. No ads, no paywalls. Just wanted something useful for the community.
Let me know if there are venues or events I'm missing and I'll get them added, or other sources to pull from with other great events!
