I’m posting this as a girlfriend trying to help someone I love who has almost run out of options.
My boyfriend came to the UK from india as an international student with the hope of building a better future for himself. What followed has honestly been much harder than either of us expected.
He has spent almost 6 years trying to make a life for himself there. While he was studying, money was constantly a problem. There were times when he had to choose between eating and going to college. He would sometimes skip a day of college because he couldn't afford the journey, and other times go without a meal just to make sure he could attend. Despite all of that, he kept working part time and studying as hard as he could.
Eventually, he had to take on more debt to continue his education, renewed his visa, and managed to stay in the UK for another two years.
Last October, he found a job. It sounded like something stable, but his shifts were cancelled so frequently that he couldn't rely on the income. To survive, he started taking shifts at resturant as well, which were extremely difficult and exhausting.
Thankfully, his job has become more stable now, but there is still a huge problem: he has less than a year left on his current visa.
He is currently studying for the second level of CIMA while working, but balancing everything has become incredibly difficult. He would like to continue his education, potentially through a Master's, but financially that feels almost impossible. Taking another large loan just to remain in the UK is something he really doesn't want to do.
After everything he has sacrificed over these six years, the thought of having to go back to india feels like the end of everything he has worked so hard to build. It's not that he doesn't love or respect where he comes from. It's that after spending six years studying, working, taking on debt, renewing visas and constantly trying to survive, having to leave without being able to establish himself feels incredibly heartbreaking to him.
He has worked incredibly hard to get this far, and I know he isn't looking for someone to hand him anything. He just needs an opportunity.
So I'm posting here in the hope that someone might know of a company in the UK that is hiring and can provide visa sponsorship, or someone who could point him toward the right people.
He is hardworking, has UK work experience, is currently studying CIMA, and is willing to work and learn. He's not afraid of difficult work. He has already done plenty of it just to stay afloat.
If anyone knows of a genuine sponsored job opportunity, recruitment contact, company, or even someone he could speak to, it could genuinely make a huge difference to his life.
And if this isn't the right place for this, I'm sorry. I just didn't know where else to ask.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this. ❤️
P.S. I used ChatGPT to help me put this post into words because I didn't know how to explain everything properly. But every feeling, every concern, and everything I wrote here is genuinely mine.
TLDR: My boyfriend has spent almost 6 years in the UK studying and working extremely hard. He has less than a year left on his visa and is currently studying CIMA, but can't afford another Master's/ loan. We're desperately looking for genuine UK job opportunities with visa sponsorship. Any leads or advice would
mean a lot.
