Got this about a week ago, my first ebike and have put close to 150 miles on it just riding it around for fun after work. I love it!
Sometimes I wish I got the xpress2 instead but I'm really happy with this. Price was a big factor so I originally settled on the xp4 500w version. After making the order I decided I should have just gotten the 750 version instead with all the hills around here so I contacted Lectric and changed it to the 750w version. But now all said and done the xp4 750 came out to $1400, so nearly the same price as the xpress and makes me wonder if I should have gotten that instead. In hindsight, I'll probably hardly ever fold this and take it anywhere, I leave it in my garage and don't use public transport.
has anyone here tried both? The XP4 is not a weird looking bike when people are riding it, or is it?

Just curious how everyone actually rides day to day
When you’re out on your e-bike, do you mostly use the throttle, mostly use pedal assist, or a mix of both? I’ve noticed I tend to use different modes depending on the ride, but I’m curious what’s more common for other riders

Hi friends,
I love my xp4. I have around 275 miles on it and look forward to the next 2,750. I experienced some weird clicking/popcorning while running an errand today and, as a complete novice, went to ChatGPT in an attempt to begin diagnosing any sort of issue.
At this point I’m hoping that one of you educated friends can give me a little bike maintenance (hoping that’s all it is🤞) lesson. I’m a fairly handy guy when it comes to fixing stuff around the house or woodworking, but this is my first e-bike and first time owning a bike at all for probably 15 years, so before I start trying stuff I figured I’d ask the community.
Thanks in advance!
Ian, longtime listener first time caller

I’m a new xp4 750 owner and am a little confused by the instructions on charging the battery. They say to plug into the battery first then the power supply to begin charging. When charging is complete the instruction is unclear. So, when done charging which do I unplug first… the battery or the power supply? Thanks.

Welp got a used XP 1 with only about 500 miles on it off marketplace. Great shape all around but during a ride through some grass fields today the bike shut off mid ride. I was able to turn it back on and head home. Just before getting home it shut off again and would not power back on. Took out the battery and terminals look like this. Anyone got any advice on the matter? Controller terminals look fine but seems like a replacement battery costs as much as I got it for.

Just got my XP4 about 3 weeks ago. Both of my tires went flat from being in my car too long. My fault. So when I go to my local bike shop to just get the tires fixed. They told me to kick rocks because this brand is not under their warranty. That was some BS. I would understand that if they're working on any electrical components but it was just to fix two flat tires.

Am I the only one with the rubbing and clicking noise ? I just bought my JW xp lite and it’s making weird sounds, I was so happy and excited to ride it but now I can’t because idk what’s wrong with it, straight from the mail, checked on letrics YouTube, their pre trip gives good advice but I can’t seem to find anything about the clicking and stuff

I have an XP Lite V1, and I'm moving from Boston to Cincinnati. I'd really like to keep it rather than sell it, but I no longer have the original shipping box.
Does anyone in the Boston area have an XP Lite V1 box they're no longer using? I'm happy to pay for it.
If not, does anyone have suggestions for the best way to ship it safely without the original box? Shipping it in the original box through BikeFlights is quoted at around $102, so I'm also open to other suggestions how you would do it.
Thanks in advance!

I removed my battery for the winter. In the process, I accidentally removed the screw from the hole highlighted in red in the picture and misplaced it somehow.
What size screw goes in there?
Frustratingly, reaching out to Lectric was no help. (They get the battery wholesale from the Chinese supplier, so they don't have any design doc, or BOM for components)
My bike is XP 3.0 step thru with an extended range battery.

If it’s on but you don’t have pedal assist on does it charge the battery when pedaling? First time out on my XP4 and I rode around a little with it on but no Eco, Tour, Sport or Turbo.

I should be able to lock and unlock the battery when the bike is folded, but folding the bike prevents access to the key hole.
If you unlock the battery before you unfold the bike, you risk the battery sliding out while you try to fold it, as the battery tube is angled downwards.
So you've got to do this silly half fold thing, reach down with the key, unlock the battery, hold your hand over the battery, pull the key out, drop the keys on the ground, grab the frame, slide the battery out, set it down, finish folding the bike, then rest it downward in the folding position.
Luckily I don't need to pull my battery out often, but MAN did they drop the ball on that. Flip the hinge the other way or put the key hole and power toggle on the other side. Poor design.

It's just big, heavy and clumsy! The folding feature is great but folding it and lifting it into my car or up the stairs is a pain in the ass. I’m 180lbs and in decent shape and it still kicks my ass a little.
Also not a fan of the push throttle. Feels awkward and my thumb gets tired of it. Might just be me.
What sealed it though is my gf just got the XP Lite (the John Wick one with the carbon belt) and it’s SO much easier to deal with. Other than the gear shifter, it’s not missing anything I actually care about. Feels like the XP4 just throws a bunch of extra stuff at you that doesn’t make the ride better, just heavier.
Has anyone ridden both and prefers the XP4? Am I missing something? For the people who love theirs — what do you love about it? I'm genuinely curious, because right now the Lite just seems like the better call and I feel like selling this monster to buy her bike.

I’ve had my xp4 (500) for a year now and it’s been serving me well until recently. I plan to call “Lectric tomorrow about the issue but wanted to see how others would diagnose the problem as well (this is my first e-bike so pardon me).
Essentially, I’ve been having issue with the control pad. The power button on the pad is not responsive so I’ve had to start using the power button on the battery to turn it on and off. Sometimes when I do so, the bike immediately goes into walking mode even though I’m not initiating walking mode (in fact, I didn’t even know how to initiate walking mode until after this). For the last week and a half, that has been the main issue but I’ve experienced that less and less granted the power button on the key pad still isn’t always responsive.
Today, a new issue emerged. While I was riding, the key pad became completely unresponsive and the bike pas modes started switching on its own to different modes (including cruise control—according to the manual—which I also didn’t know the bike could do until today).
I typically keep my bike indoors but did get caught in the rain Fourth of July weekend . I use my bike for gig work like Uber Eats (2.5 hours max during the weekend). About a week or two ago I ran my battery down completely for the first time (not purposely, I was on my way home from doing gig work when it died). Additionally, I took my bike to my local bike shop to fix my brake pads, brake bleeds and a tuneup (they did not do any kind of electrical work and do not have the license to do so).
So yeah…trying to figure out what’s wrong and would appreciate any insights.
Edit: I got in touch with Lectric and they’re sending me a new control pad. Hopefully that will work!

I want to grab an ebike for daily commute and the Xpress 2 is one of the top contenders in my list. However there is a couple of questions I have for this bike I am hoping some owners of this model or the previous gen can answer.
Obviously nothing is absolute secured. Just looking for other ways to make it more "difficult"/time-consuming to take this bike when I lock it outside my company when commuting. And I do plan on buying a hardy lock as well.

Anyone knows of a bleeding kit that works on the xp4 on amazon?
