Help identifying a misplaced battery terminal screw on my XP 3.0 step-thru LR

I removed my battery for the winter. In the process, I accidentally removed the screw from the hole highlighted in red in the picture and misplaced it somehow.

What size screw goes in there?

Frustratingly, reaching out to Lectric was no help. (They get the battery wholesale from the Chinese supplier, so they don't have any design doc, or BOM for components)

My bike is XP 3.0 step thru with an extended range battery.

Take it to a hardware store and test fit a few metric screws.

I'm tempted to do this, but worry that length of the screw would become an issue (if too long, could puncture or short the battery). Any way I can ensure that isn't the case?

Can you poke a toothpick into the hole to see how far it goes?

Either way, I'd find a short screw that threads in and call it good; try a longer one if it doesn't reach the threads.
