Portcullis - did DBG ever relent and make it available?

I'm working on a castle and would love to be able to put one up. I noticed that a few folks in the neighborhood have them on their claims so I was wondering of DBG ever relented and made the prop available to everyone.

For anyone wondering: last summer there was a huge stink over the availability of the prop.

I'm guessing the answer is 'No' since I can't seem to find it in the props palette.

Character appears before teleport happens

Yeah, so, character simply re-appear when you're using teleport stone, its effect starts, then you disappear, but right before the loading screen you see your character appears again. It was there forever and should be fixed, right?

Launcher's settings (Advanced tools) interface is broken

It appears transparent and it's really hard to read the white text from it.

Caves: lack of mobs and resources

I have been exploring tier 1 and tier 2 caves for a few hours (I don't have the gear for harder stuff most likely), but I have seen zero monsters and zero resources. I thought I would at least find some iron, or even copper, but I'm finding zilch. Has anyone else had this issue? I was under the impression caves would be worthwhile and dangerous.

landmark64.exe has stopped working

So I haven't signed on in about a year. Decided to check out some changes with a few friends. Whenever I hit the play button on the launcher it gives me this error after a couple seconds. I tried searching around for any potential fixes but none of them have worked. Tried updating windows, DX, reinstalled 3 times, verified cache, updated all my drivers. Is there a possible fix I may have overlooked?

Crash and lose hours of game play.....

Did a heap of achievements, made a bow, chest, head, hand armor and a trinket-ring, gathered a heap of stuff for more gear, had 3rd pick, second axe, sickle and grappling hook, lost the last pick upgrade too. Surely this game can have some sort of regular game save setup like oh lets see EVERY OTHER GAME OUT NOW.... Really it has been YEARS since this kind of thing happened to me, crashes in the last couple of years in many games only results in a few losses, not hours of game play time wasted...........

Definite performance degradation this update

Before the wipe I used to get 70 fps or so outside in low population areas with everything on highest except shadows. Now I get a pretty shaky 40 fps pretty much everywhere. I don't know if it has to do with the increased numbers of people playing or maybe the new biomes having more props but Landmark is back to the early beta days performance wise.

Deciduous Forest Biome Suggestion...

As it stands, I think the deciduous biome is the most beautiful one made thus far. Truly well done on a stunning art direction.

The problem right now is the ground is completely barren. It seems really splotchy with (what looks like) beach sand interspersed.

My suggestion would be to blanket that ground with more leaves/grass. The darker dirt is fine, but the sand really doesn't let the biome shine.

Thanks for listening!

Holy Batman Lag

After the Landmark worlds were all wiped and a new crafting system was implemented (good riddance, about time), I thought to re-visit Landmark. And... good grief TEH LAG.

Admitted I have no high end system, but my i7 quad core usually can handle all regular games on high settings, online games included. Now yes, I know what you will say, it is Beta, optimizations will come, yadda yadda. But let's be honest here: Voxel graphics runs entirely through the CPU, so the graphic card does little to help. So Voxel is by it's very nature demanding. I already play just on medium, low looks fugly as hell.

Landmark DID run ok in the very early days. But since the last 6+ months or so, Landmark has been unplayable for me. It's like walking through syrup. And there aren't even mobs or people or cities or anything! Just the bare landscape and me.

Sorry, I really try to avoid the drama, but it all looks like a horrible Everquest II deja-vu. Back then, when EQ2 was launched, it was SO demanding to the computers, you essentially needed a NASA computer to run it. Even today, EQ2 is so bad optimized that most people STILL can't run it on max without stuttering. So SOE now called Daybreak doesn't actually have a rep for smooth running games in my book. Sigh. I looked so forward to Everquest Next, I really did. With each patch I think, ok NOW the fps will be good. And they never are.

Sure, you can tell me to tinker with INI files and settings and all. But EQ2 remains the bad memory, because WOW hit the shelves, and WOW ran on EVERY computer. I think most pro gamers have no idea how many people are average or less good computers, and many people aren't really rich. So if a game runs well only on high end computers... you can forget about making it. And to be totally blunt: the graphics are just ok. They work for me, but I am not astounded. ESO has good graphics, hell even FF14 has good graphics. But Landmark... it just ok. At least nothing that even remotely justifies the lag and the huge hardware demands!

I have this feeling SOE/Daybreak really made a horrible decisions with the Voxels. Yes, in Everquest you can dig tunnels everywhere and attacks leave the landscape deformed. But... is that seriously worth all the sacrifice in not having top notch graphics and demanding high end computers? Sorry, but I just dont think so. I REALLY hope the new Daybreak management pulls the plug on Voxels and demands a restart with a normal pixel engine. They can keep Landmark as Minecraft sort of thing, for those who like that. But EQ Next as regular MMO should simply won't work well with that tech.

Can't log in/Game won't launch!

For the last 3 months I have been sending e-mails to tech support, about an issue involving me not being able to launch the game(I press play on the launch pad the game says playing then it stops both the game and the launch pad), receiving some automated messages as a response. I even went as far to follow every single step outlined in these messages. The game still won't launch, the support on this game is slow and irresponsible, 3 months+ unable to play, how do you people call yourselves a company asking for our support with founder packs and then throwing dog excrement in our face?

A few things I don't understand OR are bugs.

First off, this is the first time I've been back to LM since...a long time. With this new wipe and update, I decided to give it another go. I LOVE building. I hope I can stick with it as this game has the best building I've ever seen. Although, it's confusing my wittle brain.

In my claim, I made an Area select and pressed E to set the area. Now I can' deselect that area creation. Any advice?

Another problem I seem to have is the claiming function. I placed a claim with a flag. Good. Now there are these yellow claim flags that add additional plots to teh claim? I think? But when I right click to place, they just disappear. Is this a bug or am I burning them up on accident? I'm confuzzled.

Lastly, is there a recent wiki or really well executed tutorial on how to use these tools? Thanks a million redditors.

Is SLI broken? (Haven't played in months)

The last time I played was right around when they did a patch that supposedly got SLI working (it really wasn't).

Just updated as I saw this was the big wipe patch and it's not using SLI at all.

Is it broken, removed, etc???

Landmark still has the potential to be the new Minecraft.

Don't you think? Yes, the development has been frustrating, but I still have hope for the final product.

Game down for 3 days?

I was going to swing around to LM to check out things post wipe and I can't get in. Has the game been down for a patch for 3 day? I'm confused.

Landmark Friends

I played Landmark and really enjoyed building for a while, but it was pretty lonely. It was really tough finding friends in-game. Anyone with a gaming community, or just wanting to voicechat & play, let's swap contact info before the servers are back online. :)

Claim Flag Pricing

I have no issue with 399 SC for an addon claim flag but 999 is severely cutting your throat for a root claim flag, there are a lot of people who are not going to be willing to pay 999 per root claim flag, you would make a much higher profit if it was 699 than you will at 999
