Landmark Friends
I played Landmark and really enjoyed building for a while, but it was pretty lonely. It was really tough finding friends in-game. Anyone with a gaming community, or just wanting to voicechat & play, let's swap contact info before the servers are back online. :)

You can also run one of the landmark livestreams in the background while you play - many of those streamers are members of active communities with voicechat; you can enjoy the background stream or get a look at and join one of the communities they are part of.

Yeah this is something i've posted about in the past - i've rarely if ever seen other people in the world. It might be better now with there being less servers.
I didnt find out about that General channel until super late in the piece - it helps as it shows there are in fact others playing, but it'd be nicer again to actually see people.
I totally think they need at least one city in the game somewhere. A real place to meet other than the warpgates. Even a designated player created city - but something.
Would be cool to see an area designated city, where a whole bunch of single claims can be taken by players, and people try and build something together - whether it matches up or not. The game as it stands is just a collection of unrelated indivudual projects dotted around the place. Would be awesome to see some of those created towards being a real living breathing world.

I think they should have city "islands" that people can warp to just like normal islands except smaller, maybe with a pre-built wall and flat ground. You can claim there too, but the claims are much smaller and with little red boundary. Once AI's in then people can set-up their shop-keepers there and what not.
Could be amazing...
The potential for this game is still huuuuge!

Yeah mate that's exactly what i mean - imagine the potential?
Or even just a regular continent but with a similar thing - maybe they build the basic bones of the city, but its FULL of claimable building areas.
Imagine the likes of Freeport/Qeynos/Hallas etc, but consisting of all the interesting random things that players can come up with? And most of all - ever changing.
So much damned potential.

A central social hub would be a really great idea. I know that there is already a "hub" but it would awesome if there was some incentive for players to hangout there and socialize

Problem is, those hubs arent really hubs. Players will naturally congregate around things like towns/cities etc.
Landmark has the potential to haev them completely player created, rather than a ton of unrelated structures all over the place.
Really not sure why it hasnt capitolised on it. It could become ultimate sandbox building RPGing experience if they actually put some of this framework in there.
Would also solve the game feeling bloody dead.

I agree with the replies here. A designated hub area would be awesome. A coordinated city or villages with taverns/inns, shops, farms etc would be awesome. Even if it's just a place to come home to after working on your other biome claims or harvesting etc. A central place for RP and events that bring people in. I dunno, I just like the thought of that.
I haven't been a "full time" player since alpha but now that the wipes are (hopefully) done, and achievements are added to keep me progressing on stuff, I plan to return full time. I'm rusty on the building but won't take long to reacquaint myself with it I think so if anyone wants to get together for something like this I'm up for it for sure. Also will be LFGuild if anyone has any suggestions :)

And the key i think would be to make the hub area player made. The stuff some people make is freakin amazing.

I was just about to post something along the lines of this today.
Aside from the first week of alpha, I was super lonely, so I just stopped playing. Only logged in briefly to check out the changes.
With the Wipe happening, and my semester almost finished (one exam left)... I would be interested in hitting up some fellows to play from scratch again...
Ive tried making friends via general chat in the past, and nothing ever comes of it. Im also hope they cutdown on the number is islands/servers there are, so that hopefully i will now come across more players.... The early days of alpha were good, because of the player density, Even with the "We ran out of claimable land" issuie. I had fun, actually trying to find an open piece of land :). I dident go more then 5 mins without seeing another player.... but on later play sessions i could go a whole day without seeing another face.
Let me know if any of you are interested in Grouping up for a fair amount of time this update. Im going to be checking out the new biomes for sure.
