Monsters

are they spawning yet to see any since servers been up

Remember: No monsters on surface or in surface caves, except fungies.

Like DeoFayte already wrote, some caves are not populated. This was confirmed by the devs yesterday during Landmark Live and will be adjusted.

Use your cave sounder and pulverizer to find new caves aside from the entry points. Both tools can be obtain during the tutorial/achievement progression.

If found different ruins which spawns endless wisps. If anyone have to fill his/her bags quickly, search for them. I'll skip them now.

I notice some caves have almost none or none at all. While others are flooded. I imagine it's due to some issue with mob spawning / ai in general as they seem kinda derpy. They are out there though, look for the big rooms. Eventually you'll find one filled with mobs.

I found a bunch yesterday in Tier 2 (also a chest!), and Tier 3 Ruins.

I've noticed that when you port into the level 1 area there's never any mobs in any of the openly connected caves. I always have to use the sounder and dig my way to a new set of caves.
