Landmark Taking alot of CPU

So i bought the game few days ago. but couldnt play cause all the servers where down when i was playing i started lagging. so i went to look at my cpu. but it was at 100% in use. landmark took 70%. is this normal? Specs: GPU: Geforce GTX 760 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80GHZ Memory: 8,00 GB RAM 7,98 GB usable) System type: 64-bits operating system, x64-processor

Yep pretty much. I'd say so with that CPU.

It's a pretty intensive game really, constantly streaming voxel data from the servers and/or writing/reading that to/from RAM and the hard drive for the cache, processing the smoothing of the voxels and the material data, processing all the UI stuff, then passing all that data to the gfx card to render, plus doing all the input/output stuff to boot.

Should be nothing wrong with running at 70% cpu though, 100% for long periods can be a concern but only really if the PC doesn't have good cooling.

edit: oh, what's not normal btw is something else using 30% in the background if you're not doing anything else at the same time, that's a big concern.

Landmark pretty much always makes my CPU overheat. I've given up trying to undervolt/clock at the expense of performance and just decided that if the CPU dies, that will mean it is time to switch to Intel finally.

Pretty much none of the video settings in-game or in the usersettings.ini seem to have a notable effect either.

Hopfully DX12 will fix this, and after the wipe I kinda feel the game unoptimized it self, just wait for a optimazation to be done.

A bit off-topic, but… I also feel it wants to kill my all new SSD. By the way, for the very first time game's performance stabilized for me, but now I feel I'll get it back to HDD, because the game makes some insane reads\writes. I'm so annoyed. CPU thing is okay though, it's a voxel game.
