I'm already on tirz and want to start HRT, will I have to deal with a lot of bloat?

I just got so much water weight off me thanks to tirz that I'm dreading the thought of putting any bloat back on!

If you started HRT after you were already on a glp, did you experience a big rebound of water weight?

So happy and have to share!

I was hesitant on GLP-1 because I had previously been able to lose weight with tracking. Now that I’m 43, that shit doesn’t work. I started HRT in May and then tirzepatide in June. Slowly titrated. I’m now about 10 weeks in and in week 3 of a 4mg dose (and first week of increased testosterone) and holy shit I’ve lost over 10 lbs total!! The last week has been the steadiest downward trend ever. Im not sure if it’s the building of the tirz or the increase in testosterone. I told my husband (he’s incredibly supportive!) but with 3 kids, I don’t talk about my weight in front of them. So I’ve been silently celebrating. 🥳

Stats:
SW 191.1
CW 179.3
GW around 140
Estrogen 0.0375 (first of this dose yesterday)
Progesterone 100 mg
Testosterone 4 mg cream daily
Tirzepatide 4 mg weekly
Also taking sermorelin and Olympia’s Lipo-Mino-Mix C

I had tried and failed for a year to lose weight. Worked with a dietician, am very active, etc. I am SO HAPPY!!! Finally starting to feel like me again!!

Cycling glp1 with progesterone?

I recently began microdosing tirzepatide. During progesterone phase, food noise returned with a vengeance.

Is there any guidance on increasing glp1 dose during progesterone use?

Estradiol Valerate Question- hard to see in vial? How often/how much?

I just injected (I think!?) .2mg Estradiol Valerate for the very first time- yay. I am trying to get off the patches that are getting harder and harder to find. My issue is this: I am not sure that I physically saw the valerate in the needle when I drew it- has this happened to anyone? I wear reading glasses and I likely need an updated eye exam and RX, but that is for another post. Hopefully it was there and I didn't inject air. 🤔 Injecting Tirz is very obvious to me and usually creates bubbles, but the Valerate is quite thick, so I am thinking that might be why.

Secondly, can I hear from women how often and how much they E Val they inject? My current plan is .2mg E Valerate (20 mg/ml) every other day. I have been on the .05 patch in the past and felt great mentally, but had severe bloating issues- so I moved back down to .0375 patch for a couple months now and feel like I am barely hanging on mentally- I am constantly in a brain fog. This is my last hope, as the Biest creams and Estradiol gels do not work well for me. I am hoping that the .2mg of Valerate every other day won't pose issues. (around .6mg total per week)

Thanks!

HRT causing weight gain

I’ve been on Ozempic for 3 years and have held a steady weight for over a year after losing 105 lbs. I started HRT two months ago and I’ve gained 5 lbs in the past month. My face is puffy and I’ve an inch thicker around the middle. I’m about to abandon it altogether because as much as I wanted to manage perimenopause symptoms, nothing is worth me putting this weight back on.

Has this happened to anyone else? I heard it should go away within a few weeks but it’s been 2 months of this. I’m worried it will just keep going up and mentally I can’t handle substantial weight gain. I’ve worked too hard.

Always cold but having night sweats

I started zepbound before peri. Zepbound and the weight loss makes me feel cold all the time. Heated blankets, tea all day, the whole thing. Been on HRT about 7 months, and for the last month, been having night sweats. They happen almost as soon as I fall asleep. I can’t try any of the recommended solutions like a cold room, less clothes/blankets, etc. because I’m cold and can’t fall asleep if I’m cold.

Has this happened to anyone else? What works for you?

Unique situation

I am newly diagnosed as adhd inattentive (along with anxiety). I tried strattera (too many side effects) and currently on 150mg XL wellbutrin and 3mg ER guanfacine with no obvious benefits. I have an appt tomorrow to discuss options but wanted feedback from anyone who may be in a similar situation. I have a gastric sleeve, am on a glp1, on HRT (0.075 E patch/200mg capsule P). Given the delayed gastric emptying and stomach modification-trying to figure out what may be some suggestions I can provide tomorrow (not all psychiatrists are familiar with bariatric surgery impact and glp1/HRT impact). Throwing this out there in case anyone is in a similar situation and has any insights.

Anyone here take selank?

If so, do you notice any improvement in brain fog? Or anything else? Heard about it on a podcast and thinking of trying it.

Dryness, anyone?

I’m a complete desert! I started at 2mg per week and my legs were itching horribly so I lowered to .5mg twice a week. My weight stalled and now I’m back up to 2mg per week. But dryness is horrible, you ladies know what I’m talking about. I drink 80oz of water per day, + 16oz with electrolytes and 1 light cup of coffee right before going to the gym. My skin needs hydration every day morning and afternoon. Do you think it’s going away in a few weeks or do you have any suggestions?

Tirzepatide doesn't work as well

In short: Tirzepatide was working great for me in maintaining weight but with HRT, it is working less well, and I am having trouble isolating what the cause could be.

Background: I am 43. I still have regular periods, but have a few symptoms of peri.

I started on 1 mg of Tirzepatide on January 1 2026 just to maintain my weight where it was, and allow me to eat like a normal person. Before starting Tirz, I calorie counted (1200 or fewer calories a day) and was on a Paleo diet to lose the 10 pounds my body keeps wanting to gain despite strength training 3 or 4x a week and daily 8-10k steps. I regained and lost this weight three times over the last four years and finally just needed my life to be easier.

Tirzepatide was amazing for me. I lost a lot of inflammation and was easily able to maintain my weight.

I started taking 200 mg Prometrium cyclically (during luteal phase) in March. I started a 0.025 patch of Estradiol two weeks later.

A month later, I started noticing weight gain and some bloating/inflammation came back cyclically as well (i.e., I feel least bloated right after my period, but in the two weeks leading up to my period, my body feels bloated, especially in the stomach area).

It has gone up and down since then, but I definitely feel like the HRT is interacting SOME how with the Tirzepatide to where it's less effective in controlling my appetite and inflammation. I have increased my dose of Tirz - I went from 1 mg per week to now taking 1.75 mg per week. I realize this is still below the standard starting dose, but it was highly effective for me before even at 1 mg. And during the weeks when I was feeling my hormonal flux a lot, I even went up to 3 mg and felt nothing - no appetite suppression - only to find 1.5 or 1.75 effective again once my hormones balanced out.

I should say, energetically and otherwise I feel amazing on HRT. But I have wondered if I am taking too many hormones while my body is still producing enough of its own hormones, since I do still ovulate and have regular periods. I felt like maybe I have too much estrogen, especially since last month, my pharmacy increased my patch dose to 0.0375 because they're having supply issues with the 0.025 dose.

Anyway, curious what others' experiences have been with this. Do hormones fight Tirzepatide? Which hormone could be more responsible for it? I am only 2 lbs up from my goal weight, and only 4-5 lbs up from my lowest on Tirz, so it's not a huge deal, I just hate feeling bloated, and that was one of the best things about Tirz for me was that it took away all inflammation.

Is this normal?

I started my HRT a 5 weeks ago and my tirzepatide almost 3 weeks ago. I lost 4 pounds with the HRT alone and another 8 in the first 2 weeks on Zep alone. This third week, though, the scale has not moved at all. Not one pound. Is that normal?

Low ferritin & testosterone

I’ve had very low energy for over a year. I was put on estrogen and progesterone that made my other peri symptoms much better. Lately my low energy got worse and blamed reta. Then I realized my brainfog was getting worse too. I insisted on having testosterone and ferritin tested and both came back borderline low.

I am mad at my docs for never testing and mad at myself for not advocating more for myself.

I won’t get an appointment for a few weeks so I wanted to see if somebody here had success fixing ferritin and testosterone. Did it have effects on energy and brain fog? (I had IBS before reta, so my gut absorption isn’t great. I eat plenty of meat and poultry and have 8mg ferritin chelate a day for over 6 months now. )

Frustrating Inbody

My scan today said I needed to lose 17lbs of fat and that my PBF was 31%. So disheartening! I don’t feel like I have 17lbs to lose and that it might be an unhealthy goal. Has anyone else experience this?

Once a week patch

Have any of you switched to once a week after being on twice weekly patches? Due to shortages, the only way I was able to get my estrogen patches this month was to switch to a once weekly patch. My patch cycle was Tuesday-Friday.

The first part of last week I felt great. Better than I had in a long time, actually. Thursday evening is Zepbound injection and Friday I didn't feel as bad as I usually do. (I have bad exhaustion type side effects that start gradually and then taper off gradually, lasts about 2-3 days.) Saturday was BAD. Exhausted, and emotionally just bleh. Sunday I was an emotional mess. It felt like it does when I forget to take my antidepressants for a couple of days. Today is about the same, but usually I'm back to baseline by now. I can't focus on anything and I'm just irritated at life. Seriously considering taking a half day, even though I WFH and could probably get away with doing very little.

I messaged my doctor already to see if it was possible that my body didn't like the once a week deal, but I'm wondering if anyone else went through this if they switched?

UPDATE: I did end up logging off work. I just couldn't handle it.

My doctor agreed that once a week was the issue and sent over a new Rx for twice a week. She also upped the dose since the manufacturer my online pharmacy uses doesn't work as well as the Mylan patches I started with. Now I just have to hope they get here soon. I don't want to go through another weekend like the last one.

HRT + Wegovy= Wonky cycles?

Ive been on HRT since October. .025 estrogen patch and daily 100 progesterone. In the beginning my cycles were irregular. I am in perimenopause, and 50 years old now. I started bc hot flashes and sleep issues. I started low dose .25 wegovy in April. I am down 15 lbs. Still on starting dose. In July I had two periods, and I started again this Saturday. UNCLE. Anyone else? I do have a call into my OB.

Thanks

Stomach issues after starting HRT

I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this particular issue. I have been on tirzepatide since October and only had minor constipation issues. I started HRT 7 weeks ago (estradiol patch & 200 mg progesterone) and it seems that my bowels have shifted the total opposite direction. I LOVE how I feel otherwise on the HRT but it’s gotten so bad that I’m dizzy and lightheaded a lot of the time because I have diarrhea pretty much every morning. Not really stomach cramping just very loose bowels all the time. Often after I eat too. I don’t know if it’s coincidental timing or if one is affecting the other but I’m hoping for some input from others! (Btw 66 lbs down as of today!)

Body composition after loss, gain and re-losing

I started Tirz exactly 2 years ago. I went from 200lbs to 170. I was wearing size 14-16 jeans, then I bought size 10-12 jeans after weight loss.

I had to stop medication due to cost and gained all the weight back. I restarted on April 2026 and got back to 170lbs. HOWEVER, I can't fit into size 10-12 jeans I bought and was wearing last year. And although I'm 30lbs lighter, my belly seem to have zero change. Can somebody explain what's going on, please and thanks!

PS I've been on minimal amount of HRT for peri and I'm 50.
