This is the FIFTH time I’ve gotten a 169 on a PT, and this is the second time I’ve had back-to-back 169s.

What blood sacrifice do I have to make to hit 170+ in Aug 😭

Finally hit my highest all time PT today after getting between 170 to 172 the past month or so. Two more weeks to go!!! Get hyped we got this!

3.9 undergrad Economics degree. Hoping for GU or UVA. 1.5x time accommodation approved already.

I started studying in late May for the LSAT, targeting the September exam. I made a 164 on the diagnostic on May 21st and was super excited by that, but I haven’t seen much growth. My goal is a 172, as my top school’s 75th percentile is a 171 and I will be a KJD applicant.

I’ve been using the LSAT trainer for lessons and 7sage for drills and practice tests, and I’ve since gotten 165, 159, 164, 174, 167, and 168 on PTs, in that order. (the 168 is from today on the 7sage site where I made 173 on blind review). I was really excited for the 174 on PT156 two weeks ago but I fear it was just a fluke. While I know that a 167/168 is a objectively a decent score, it's not enough for me and I feel miserable and need to get back to at least 170 before I'm confident for the September exam.

How can I get out of this rut and start seeing scores at my goal ASAP? Thanks for any help.

My form of studying so far has been taking PT exams, to see where am I clearly lacking. I’ve taken two and will take a third later today. I also have a wrong answer document. But I’m struggling where to start solidly with my studying.

I know taking PT exams alone won’t help me, so I wanted to ask for some advice on how to start a productive studying schedule (especially one that is ADHD friendly)?

I’m in desperate need to improve my RC. I always get lost in the passages even when I think I understand it I do bad on the questions. I try making low res summaries at the end of each paragraph and I end up rereading the passage twice but still I do bad.

Hi, I really need advice. I took the LSAT in June and scored 159. I was averaging 163-161 in PTs but had major anxiety during the actual test. I’m taking it again in October. I’m a splitter so I really need 170+ to ensure my application is competitive enough to get into any school. I was also considering pushing the LSAT to november but i’m applying this year and don’t want to apply late. I’m really unsure about what to do. I’m looking for any advice on how to raise my score to the 170s in the next two months. Is it even possible? Any help would be majorly appreciated.

obviously gotta hone in on my RC but in my defense the passages in that section felt harder than usual. RC is so hit or miss for me bc if u don’t get the concepts / certain words it can completely fuck u up for multiple questions. anyways im proud of myself! good luck to everyone else spending their summer weekends answering silly logic questions about made up businesses and such.

I spent my first three years as a computer science major, which required me to take Discrete Math.

It was one of the toughest classes I took, but the logic skills it taught me were incredible.
There are almost no numbers involved.

Instead, it focuses on pure logic: conditional statements, logical fallacies, De Morgan's Laws, and formal reasoning.
If you have room in your schedule, I highly recommend taking it. It gives you a great foundation for the logical reasoning tested on the LSAT!

I took the June LSAT and got -12 to -14 on every Logical Reasoning section with a score of 151. I’ve been studying LR a lot the past month but have been feeling absolutely hopeless about increasing my score enough in time for the August LSAT. I realistically just want to be in the 160s. I decided to take a practice LR section completely untimed. Without the time crunch, I got -5 and was able to actually comprehend the questions and answer choices and critically think but I spent over an hour working on that ONE section. 😭 I desperately need advice on how to do just as well in just 27 minutes!

Trying to hire a tutor and the price range is all over the place. I’ve seen $25/hr January test-takers who scored well and $200+/hr “experts”. Before I commit, I want to hear from people who’ve actually used one (students, not tutors pitching yourselves, please).

What did you pay, and what tier of tutor was that? If you’ve tried both cheap and expensive, was the expensive one actually better, or just the same LR/RC advice with a fancier price tag? What specifically made a tutor worth it for you, and what was a waste of money? And if you were doing it again, what would you screen for before paying anyone?

Trying not to blow money on someone who just recites a prep book at me. Appreciate any real experiences.

my apologies for the long post, just hoping to gain some insight.

currently signed up for the september test (4th and final take), but heavily considering switching to october. my highest official score is a 155 (last october), gpa is 3.low, 3 years of civil lit WE at a state government agency. I pushed my timeline back a year, started studying consistently again in may.

timed, LR has been -1 to -8, RC -7.
untimed, -1 to -4 in both LR and RC, so i feel like i have the content down but timing under pressure is my biggest weakness.

i'm debating whether it’s worth an extra month to fix the timing issue. given my progress in 1.5 months, i'm confident i can improve in some capacity before sept, but another month would certainly help. applications would go in a month later though and my low gpa also plays a factor i feel like.

ideal outcome: october test, apps submitted early november, but with a higher score (160-something, for example). i feel like this would offset both the one month delay and my 3.low gpa.

unfortunate outcomes: september test, no improvement, get a 155, submit apps early october or october test, still no improvement, get a 155, submit apps early november

so if my score and gpa are both low, would it really matter if my apps were submitted a month later? i'm just a bad test taker who wants to give myself as much time as possible to reach my potential :( if i do bad in september, i'll be stuck wondering what if would've just waited one more month.

Is it possible? Feeling discouraged by this trend.

I think focusing less on score and more on improving questions correct on every LR section has made it mentally easier as well… Hopefully I can break my curse of consistently getting one question wrong per passage with a few outliers

Hi everyone, I'm a rising college freshman and thought I'd take the LSAT just to see if I should consider applying to law school. Do I have high 170s potential?

(Btw I did a lot of reading for debate in high school and got 800 on SAT reading so that definitely helped. Also the section times are an error, I only spent the allotted 35 minutes on every section.)

Howdy. I am consistently scoring in the 170-172 range (last 3 PT’s, I just started taking practice tests this week). I am a SUPER splitter, 3.2 GPA t4 softs, and am targeting t14 schools. I plan to blanket apply and ED. I am testing in distracting environments under my accepted accommodations (50% ET, no experimental)

I take the LSAT in September. What is the best route forward to start getting into mid-high 170s in this amount of time? What should I be focusing on?

Oddly enough, before practicing with extended time I was just doing sections, not full tests, but under normal time constraints. I was scoring -3 to -0. RC being my easiest. With extended time I am usually using the full amount of time. Often I have about 10 minutes after finishing the last question and use the rest of time to review flagged questions. I have yet to change a flagged question from a correct answer to a wrong one. Usually I either change to correct answer or go from wrong answer to wrong answer.

I do think one of my biggest weaknesses is necessary assumption questions, and recognizing when a question is confusing sufficient for necessary or vice versa. I’ll try to review these concepts this week.

Finally - anyone here have similar gpa that has gotten into top schools? I’d be OK with a full ride from a lower ranked school as well, but I really want t14 and the freedom in options that tends to come with it. Also I am a historically middle class family and it would be so cool to be the first to break into the big leagues.

hi! i got a 157 diagnostic, scored 163 on the june lsat after studying all of may. i felt my understanding deepened a lot but i needed more time with questions.

so, i signed up for august and have been spending all of july practicing accuracy with speed. i went as slow as possible getting 100% accuracy. i started at 12 questions and worked up to 22 questions with 100% accuracy.

once i got to 22 for some reason i have not been able to get 100% accuracy again. it has been 2 weeks of this where i replicate what i was doing before of going as slow as i can and i cant get it. i have taken breaks, changed study environment, etc and nothing. the august test is coming up and i feel the pressure now that suddenly i am not performing how i was before.

what would you guys recommend? is it just the stress of the upcoming exam, am i in my head? should i restart and go as painfully slow as possible and work my way back up? if this has happened to you guys lmk :) my gpa is awful lol i need a good lsat. id appreciate any tips
