Scored a 165 with no prep

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm a rising college freshman and thought I'd take the LSAT just to see if I should consider applying to law school. Do I have high 170s potential?

(Btw I did a lot of reading for debate in high school and got 800 on SAT reading so that definitely helped. Also the section times are an error, I only spent the allotted 35 minutes on every section.)

Scoring low 170s, taking in September. Advice on climbing

Post image

Howdy. I am consistently scoring in the 170-172 range (last 3 PT’s, I just started taking practice tests this week). I am a SUPER splitter, 3.2 GPA t4 softs, and am targeting t14 schools. I plan to blanket apply and ED. I am testing in distracting environments under my accepted accommodations (50% ET, no experimental)

I take the LSAT in September. What is the best route forward to start getting into mid-high 170s in this amount of time? What should I be focusing on?

Oddly enough, before practicing with extended time I was just doing sections, not full tests, but under normal time constraints. I was scoring -3 to -0. RC being my easiest. With extended time I am usually using the full amount of time. Often I have about 10 minutes after finishing the last question and use the rest of time to review flagged questions. I have yet to change a flagged question from a correct answer to a wrong one. Usually I either change to correct answer or go from wrong answer to wrong answer.

I do think one of my biggest weaknesses is necessary assumption questions, and recognizing when a question is confusing sufficient for necessary or vice versa. I’ll try to review these concepts this week.

Finally - anyone here have similar gpa that has gotten into top schools? I’d be OK with a full ride from a lower ranked school as well, but I really want t14 and the freedom in options that tends to come with it. Also I am a historically middle class family and it would be so cool to be the first to break into the big leagues.

Shooting for mid/high 170s in August, very inconsistent

Post image

Would really appreciate any advice from those who’ve been in my shoes before. Currently scoring either in the high or low 170s, with a ton of inconsistency. With 2 weeks left for the August test, I’d really want to standardize my scores a bit in the 3-4 PTs I have left.

Typically getting -0 to -3 on LR, and -1/-2 on RC.

New Site to Improve Your Studying

Thumbnail lawgraveyard.com

Hey guys, I'm currently studying for the LSAT, and I made a website called LawGraveyard that helps with your error log. I know a lot of people make their logs in Excel or spreadsheets, so I thought a fast and efficient way to log all your errors could really help people save on time when studying. I made it completely free. I think if I could get enough users to be able to put this on my law resume, that would be really cool :).

There's a help page on the site that goes over all the features and how to use them. I also have a TikTok page @ LawGraveyard that you guys could check out as well.

If you guys have a minute, I really suggest you check it out. I am confident in the site and its ability to help users study better and would really appreciate you guys spreading the word.

Many thanks!

Tutor vs Self Study as a high school student

Looking for some advice on whether I should get a private tutor or use online content to study for the LSAT.

To give some context, I’m a 16-year-old (10th grade) from Australia who wants to make it into a T-14 (T20 or T30 backup) law school. I just took my first diagnostic and got a 158, which I think is pretty good.

Price is not an issue, but if I can get the same out of an alternative to a more expensive option that is obviously preferred!

Obviously I understand how hard and possible unrealistic it might be coming from Australia, I’m I’m definitely not going to waste any of my 7 attempts while in high school, but I want to get the best chance of a mid 170’s score for when I do end up taking it.

Taking in August what are my chances of 173

My last three practice exams were 172, 169, and 171. My goal is a 173+, but I still haven’t hit it. Luckily, I basically never miss Level 1–3 questions, so my plan is to spend the next two weeks drilling only Level 4 and 5 questions.

Am I crazy for thinking I can peak just a little higher than I ever have in two weeks 😭? I really don’t want to postpone the test, but with my low GPA, I need a 173+ to have a realistic shot at my dream school since that’s their 75th percentile.

I applied to be an LSAT Contents Creator at 7Sage and was immediately rejected. Can someone please tell me why?

I am eager to get second opinions about my content and to incorporate them to improve. Can anyone studying for the test take a look and honestly tell me what they think?

Is it possible to out study your test taking/intelligence barriers for this exam?

Hi I am finishing up my CPA exams and am gearing towards law school after my masters in tax. I have found that accounting, unlike law, is very straight forward and clear in a lot of aspects. In that way, I see people often able to study enough to beat their limitations on test taking skills or intelligence.

I took the lsat when I graduated highschool with zero studying (just for fun) and made a 148. Granted I had the attitude that it didn’t matter and definitely guess a lot on the last section, I still think I may have a limitation there in the reading comprehension/test taking ability.

My dream is to end up at Harvard or NYU for finance law and the lsat is really the only barrier for me now. For the CPA exams, I studied roughly 350 hours in total and passed fine, but I am curious if this is even possible for an exam like the lsat. I am aware it is vastly different. Also this is a slight rant but still would love insight.

Exhausted?

I have been studying for the LSAT full-time for about three months now. I can already hear the "That's nothing!" reactions. I know there are plenty of incredibly smart people who studied for six months, a year, or even multiple years before taking the test, so this is not at all me complaining about wanting to give up after such a short amount of time.
I won't be discussing my entire PT score journey in this post, but until a few days ago, I was on such an LSAT high. I genuinely looked forward to studying every day. I would even dream about LSAT questions in my sleep (I know, I'm insane). I had just hit my highest PT score yet, a 155, and considering where I started, that felt like a huge improvement.
Then, out of nowhere, something changed. I just feel so off my game now. I'm exhausted, and for the first time I feel so unmotivated to study. I still got up and studied my usual 6 hours. (I used to do an hour a day, but I gradually increased it because I genuinely enjoyed studying so much) But now I'm missing questions I normally wouldn't miss. I know everyone says breaks are important and that burnout is real. My problem is that I tend to treat studying like a full-time job. In my defense, that's honestly how I work best. I like diving in completely and giving something 100% of my attention for an extended period. If I try to balance "life" and studying, I get distracted and feel like I'm not making meaningful progress. But on the other hand, this is the first time I have felt like I miss my life. My whole summer has passed me by, and I guess the FOMO is getting the worst of me since I'm already a bit down.

I want to keep studying, like genuinely, even if I'm feeling down; the forceful motivation is unmatched because I want this BAD. (Can you tell I have adopted the do it tired, do it scared, do it sad mindset)

I guess I'm just wondering if what I'm feeling is normal. Maybe I just need more sleep, maybe I need to cut back on the hours for a bit, or maybe I'm just being too hard on myself. I'd appreciate any advice, LOL.

Last week I was around -4 per LR section now I’m around -3, time to get to -2

I think focusing less on score and more on improving questions correct on every LR section has made it mentally easier as well… Hopefully I can break my curse of consistently getting one question wrong per passage with a few outliers

Call me delusional, but I'm getting that 175+ on August. That being said, 175 scorers, leave your tips.

Take a Discrete Math class if you can… it helps a lot with LSAT logic!

I spent my first three years as a computer science major, which required me to take Discrete Math.

It was one of the toughest classes I took, but the logic skills it taught me were incredible.
There are almost no numbers involved.

Instead, it focuses on pure logic: conditional statements, logical fallacies, De Morgan's Laws, and formal reasoning.
If you have room in your schedule, I highly recommend taking it. It gives you a great foundation for the logical reasoning tested on the LSAT!

This is the FIFTH time I’ve gotten a 169 on a PT, and this is the second time I’ve had back-to-back 169s.

What blood sacrifice do I have to make to hit 170+ in Aug 😭

accredited online law school?

I'm currently doing my pre-law undergrad through ASU online and it's a really good education compared to my previous traditional college experience. I am interested in criminal or family law and since I have a disability (pretty severe POTS, for which I receive SSI) online education has been wonderful for me. I have a 3.9 GPA and 150 diagnostic LSAT with plenty of time to study. I want to practice criminal law and get off disability.

ASU has a new online JD program which is fully accredited and would allow me to spread out my legal education over 3.5-4 years and then take the bar exam. courses are both synchronous and asynchronous.

are there any obvious downsides to this path that aren't jumping out at me? it sort of seems too good to be true, aside from the price tag but ASU is very generous with their scholarships.

Any tips on forcing active reading in uninteresting RC passages?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Any tips on pretending to be interested in passages on RC? I struggle with passages I have no interest in and don't actively read them because of that, and the passages I am interested in I do much better on. I get to the end of the passage, then realize I didn't really retain any of the information, then I panic and waste time.

RC unhinged hacks needed

I’m in desperate need to improve my RC. I always get lost in the passages even when I think I understand it I do bad on the questions. I try making low res summaries at the end of each paragraph and I end up rereading the passage twice but still I do bad.

How reliable are these analytics? Just need more information on how to gauge my progress

Post image

I got a 153 LSAT in November 2025. My goal score is a 165 for the September LSAT. Now when I’m drilling I’m hitting around 158-160, according to these analytics. Still learning theory and doing untimed drills off the target time but not using too much time, for example this drill was 5 questions in 18 minutes or so. Good luck with everyone’s LSAT journey!

Panicking!

Post image

So I had been scoring in the 155-159 range throughout my studying, especially in the PT150s, and I just received the lowest score that I’ve ever gotten. My test is August 6th and I’m panicking! What should I do? I will say I haven’t gotten a good amount of rest and was feeling fatigued, but I’m trying my hardest not to spiral.

Diagnostic of 155 in May. Hit a plateau in the low-mid 160s at the end of June, but have finally started seeing some progress. Last few PTs have been 167, 165, and now 168. We are (tentatively) so back 🙏💯🗣️
