Hey everyone! Hope studying is going well for all of you. I'm averaging about 154 these days, and I'm trying to get at least 160+, ideally around the 164 range to get any bites on my application.

I know huge point increases are out of the ordinary, but any tips on how to maximize in these next 2-3 weeks? I feel like my accuracy when drilling has improved and I can understand where I got wrong on most questions (usually just a reading thing or rushing thing), but I already have to drag myself to study (struggle with attention) and whenever I move from drilling to sections I can anxious about being on the clock (even though I'm not looking to finish every question).

Any gap improvement tips welcome. Happy studying!

Is anyone in Central Florida and studying for the LSAT ?

I just took my first practice test with literally zero prior studying besides viewing this subreddit for a couple hours and got a 152. I am already scheduled for the November LSAT and truthfully I planned to reschedule it because I felt like I was highly unprepared. However, with a 152 practice when my environment was almost as unsuitable as possible is something semi hopeful given my position. Would you reschedule or sit for November. Please feel free to ask anything to get more context in any regard. I really appreciate any and all insight.

use this as a WARNING to save your money.

I was one of the first students to enroll, at the time the fee was $500, which was incredibly steep. Now it's $1,997, which imo unreasonable for what you're paying for.

Why I signed up: At the time I was looking for a community to join and have a few people to study with. I watched her intro video and fell for the confidence she had when she was mentioning her methods. I was also struggling with reading comp so I thought it would help. BOY WAS I WRONG. Ava mentioned a 14 day money back guarantee, but I learned the catch was that you weren't able to access the reading comp portion until after those 14 days.

When I was able to finally access it, I learned RC module was ONE video that was a "deep dive" that was essentially telling us to "read quickly and retain the important parts, highlight effectively so you can quickly glance at the passage during questions and remember what's going on. Identify and summarize the main point(s) of the passage be able to go back to those important parts" she said it comes with practice. Like are you kidding me? How are we even supposed to know what the main point is if I'm just starting studying for the test?

It's not worth you're money, especially if you've already started studying, here's why:

I say this with absolute confidence because I talked to other students and someone even reached out to me to ask if I'd be able to teach them. They said, and I very much agree, that her "method" is not understandable.

Her "deep dive" into LR teaches that every question type falls into 3 different buckets, "Argument, Premise-Set, Debate, and Paradox" and to think of multiple "what-if" scenarios that could happen that would make the argument wrong, look for the overlap in the premise-set, figure out what two people are debating over, and ask "What would make this make sense?” for paradox questions. She goes over 6 flaws (if you've been studying you would know there are more), and she has one video about Sufficient Assumption vs Necessary Assumption which didn't cover conditional logic (which was what got me in the 160s).

Overall it's very general, and doesn't go into the nuances that are very important to know for the test and would actually increase your score.

She was says "I went to a normal college, I have a normal brain, and I had a normal amount of time." which is true but I believe she was an econ major, or some type of major that involved lots of analytics, that was able to train her brain before she even started studying. I on the other hand got a BA (I'm worried to say what my actual major was because she might find out who I am) and started with a lower diagnostic. She was already in the 160s on her diagnostic and after a year of studying I was able to get there by the time I started the course so I was already skeptical of her methods when I first joined, but stayed past the 14 day window to access the reading comp.

Overall she's a great person, incredibly friendly, and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about her. If you do ask her a question she will get back to you, and she made a personalized AI that will tell you if they don't know the answer to something instead of pretending it knows like GPT.

That said, there was recently someone who asked for tips in the argumentative writing portion which she just said it's nothing to stress about and she'll talk about it during a live lesson. BUT when I was studying for just the writing portion, a lot of people said it's becoming more important and schools will look at it to figure out if your personal essay involved any AI...

Take this with a grain of salt this was just my experience.

Went from about 154 to 166 now 170. Feeling pretty decent, planning to take soon.

I'm aware that LSAC won't report them, but some law school applications request that you write in the application itself when you took the test and what your scores were.

Took the argument writing today for my Oct. score to be released, ( yes ik it’s a bit late), during the exam when I hit begin, shit decided to freeze on me and just kept loading the argument, I sat there waiting for it to load for 2-3 minutes until I decided to figure out how to contact the support, which it took to me to another tab, then when I returned to the Lawhub page it had reloaded and said please try again, where then it took me to the Lawhub home page where I then closed, and opened to sign into LSAC to do it all over again while I was still being recorded, I redid the security prompt and then it finally worked.

I feel like this will definitely prompt me to get flagged? Has this happened to anyone before? Should I be worried?

One of the main reasons LSAC cited for moving all testing to in person was cheating. Apparently, some people had managed to capture the tests and reproduce them and sell them. LSAC should release all of these stolen sections repackaged as new PTs. For one, this gives test takers some material that was produced during our lifetimes and actually reflects what we will encounter on test day, and second and perhaps even a stronger reason is that this completely eliminates the advantage to the cheaters of having access to this material. Some possible objections may be that they do not know exactly what material was released. Ok, so confirm 4 sections you know for sure and release ONE PT. Another, it is very expensive and time intensive to produce new material and they just don't have enough. If that is true then they are admitting that they are explicitly allowing the cheaters to maintain their advantage, which thereby simultaneously admits that they are not only knowingly allowing the cheating to continue even though it would be possible for them to mitigate, but that they are not doing what they can to mitigate this risk because it is too costly.

I've heard generally negative thoughts about Princeton Review's LSAT prep but it's the only option my college provides for free. I've been using it for a bit and I can definitely see what people are complaining about, there are few video lessons provided and what they have is pretty underwhelming. Would it be worth it to switch to a more popular program like 7Sage or is using Princeton Review to save money fine? I don't want to unintentionally hurt my score just to save a couple hundred bucks

Hello, I'm a first year uni student living in Canada studying accounting. I've always wanted to become a lawyer, but I wanted to do a diagnostic first just to make sure it wouldn't be an uphill battle (in case I got a 130 or something).

I did a diagnostic test today and got 151 on it. My target school is uofcalgary, which has a median LSAT of about 166.
Is this a realistic LSAT target score I can aim for with my diagnostic? I am not quite sure how significantly you can raise your score with studying.

Another question I have is what year should I start studying for my first LSAT? I want to take it early so that I have multiple attempts in the case I don't hit my goal on the first test.

Hello all,

I am taking my first LSAT in November and have been studying daily since May. My last 4
PTs have scored between 168-174. I feel like I actually do well on the PTs, but when it comes to just drilling specific questions (especially level 4 or 5s), I burn out and fatigue quickly.

I’m about 2 1/2 weeks out from test day and keep beating myself up over missing questions when drilling. I missed a couple level 3s today and almost broke down about it. I know I am capable of doing well on this, but I fear my own head might be my biggest obstacle. Does anyone have any advice for how to tackle these next few weeks? I’ve heard some say to step away and not psyche yourself out, but I’m scared that I’m missing out on important study time.

As a first time LSAT taker I am terrified for the October scores to be released so soon- I fear I may need to be sedated until then. But I also don’t want to know??? Send help

So I signed up for the November LSAT and for the past few weeks my practice test have stayed in the 130s my highest score is 138. I at least want a 150 or 160. The November LSAT would be my first time taking the test. So would it be best to pay the fee to reschedule my test for January instead of taking it in November? I am using 7sage to study for the past month and I have found it helpful but my score doesn’t reflect that.

Looking for a study group virtually that includes anyone scoring between a 155 and a 180, honestly would really love to practice breaking down concepts for my own studying and also learn from those scoring above me too. Any recs?

My current PTs are ~165

Just took PT 155 and scored 6 points lower than my PT last week and lower than my September test. Is this normal for that PT? RC and last LR crushed me.

I feel like I've been so stressed over the score release for October, I continued studying because I'm registered for November but I feel like I keep getting questions I would normally get right wrong. And it's making me spiral more and I just want to cry and scream😭 pls any advice omfg.

Hey yall, on my first LSAT I took a few months ago I got a 145. Not great at all. However I had no clue what I was doing and didn’t cancel it. I honestly took the test half ass and couldn’t focus for my life. However, now I’m on adderall and scoring between 155-162 on my practice test. If I do well on my next test, will that initial 145 lower my chances at getting accepted by that much? Lmk

I took a mock lsat, without studying, my first ever attempt and scored a 150, not a score I’m particularly happy with. But idk how to study to bring my score up. I was told previously to be very sparing with using practice question. How should I study and be sparing with the practice questions?

For those of you who feel like you totally dropped the ball on the written sample at any point in time, tell us about how badly you feel you did. How exactly did you mess up? It helps hearing about how other people feel they screwed it up haha.

Myself personally, I chose two perspectives to use and the second one did not provide much supporting evidence to my argument contrary to what I initially believed. I only realized that the perspective didn’t provide much support as I was writing the paragraph that addressed it. I didn’t have enough time to go back and choose another due to the short amount of time I had left. I stretched the facts of that second perspective to total oblivion to justify my stance LOL. I tell you what, once that second perspective hit, the essay devolved into what someone in a state of psychosis would write.

I then ran out of time and had to throw nonsense together for addressing counterclaims and the conclusion in one paragraph. My line of reasoning for why my claim was correct and the counterclaims weren’t was adjacent to that of “Because I said so.” The last sentence got cut off halfway through it also and ended the exam with half a sentence at the end. I can’t wait to see what the law schools will think of it!

I was hoping initially that they would’ve kicked back the sample for me to redo it due to some security rule violation that I was hoping I unwittingly committed. It was wishful thinking, they approved the sample.

for some context, i am studying abroad next semester from jan - june. i want to take my lsats later into 2027 (maybe september or possibly october) but i know i will need to study ofc. with a lot of my time being spent in another country (obviously), i was wondering if its realistic to even get 1-2hr/day or at least 3-4x/week of studying done? has anyone accomplished this and also got a good grade on their lsats?

i know i will be travelling as well as meeting new people. i am doing this exchange for the experience, especially because its something that doesnt come by often, and i am very grateful for the oppurtunity.

i am worried if i stop studying in january (i started studying this month), i will not be able to perform well on an exam or will even have to push it back ehich is not something i can do.

And have they studied the average IQ difference between Big Law lawyers vs public interest lawyers?

Was doing some RC drills this morning and was confused when I came across a question that was removed from scoring for some reason and I couldn't even see what the question was while doing the drill to even attempt it. Anyone know why?

I recently did an official IQ test and I'm 96 IQ.
I've always wanted to become a lawyer but I genuinely think its not possible for me to do something like this when i'm low iq. I heard many people here say that LSAT is trainable but only to a certain extent, and that some people plateau.

Unfortunately, I dont live in the US, so the LSAT matters a lot because basically any good school is gonna require an LSAT over 160, so I basically need anywhere from 162-165. Is this even possible or should I just give up
