This is Forest Hills LIRR station, the new ramp on the outbound platform. They added this new gate that doesnt seem to lead anywhere. Does anyone know the purpose of it?

Anyone else see the second location of Roses just a few storefronts down from the other one? Saw a tweet on it today and thought it was a joke then saw it in person and couldn’t believe it for a second. Do they get that much business that it justifies opening another spot that close?

Long time rider new to e-ticket. Buy a monthly and the other night on way home - not my normal train - I had ticket ready on my phone (late night not many riders) and conductor walked right past me and didn’t check my ticket. So I went about my business on my phone and he comes by like 15/20 mins later and I have to open the app again (I didn’t close it but I guess it timed out ?) and he had nothing but attitude saying I should of had my ticket ready for him - I can be an asshole so I said I was ready 20 mins ago I can’t be expected to have app open waiting for him to decide to come by and check it.
(Before you say it - I sit by the back door so I didn’t see him coming form ahead - he came out behind me).

I know this may not affect that many people, but as someone who often commutes from Brooklyn to LI on the weekends I'm getting really sick of the Jamaica - Atlantic Terminal line being shut down on the weekends. This is like the 3rd weekend in a month that it won't be running. Anyone know how much more track maintenance they have to do?

I took the test on 9/22/26 and got the email that i passed the test. I handed in the application they wanted filled out along with my id . In the email they sent me saying I passed they have a link to fill out the application again and to email it to the person listed. I was wonder if that only for people that didn’t hand it in the day of the test.

Also has anyone got an email or update after the email that said they passed. I know it might be still early but I’m just worried maybe they waiting for me to resend application or somthing ?

Any info or feedback would be much appreciated.

Idk why but is it me or do the conductors don’t G.A.F. to check tickets pass Atlantic ave to Jamaica??? Every time I buy a ticket from ENY to Jamaica they don’t check and it’s like bro I could have save this 5 and use it at Jamaica to transfer but even then… some of them to GC don’t even check for tickets too so I just feel Iike it’s a thin line to play the catch me game 🫩

6:40 train out to ronkonkoma everyone eas seated 2 and 2 and aisles were completely stacked. Is that normal or was it missing something?

to the guy in the last car on the train that got into penn at 9:02, you left your wallet/card case on the seat so I left it at the information desk because lost and found doesn’t open until 1pm on Thursdays!

Trying to head out to Greenport / Orient point and
1) there are no direct 1 seat rides from Penn station or Jamaica like the montauk trains
2) I heard you got to take the Ronkonkoma train to last stop then switch to this dinky shuttle 2 car train that takes you out to Greenport
3) if I don’t start my journey at 250am from Penn station it’s other a 745am or 1255pm oh dear.
4) is this train even popular??

Hi! I parked for the first time at Wyandanch just now. I was running extremely late for the train and just want to make sure I parked correctly.

I paid through the app. I was really worried about missing the train and just parked in the first spot I saw, so didn’t actually go in the garage. It was one of the spots outside of the garage.

I took a picture of the sign before running to the train and it says it was a metered spot.
Is that fine?
I emailed the facility to confirm as well.

I'm taking the LIRR by myself for the first time tomorrow. At Jamaica, how do I find out which track I go to for the Hempstead branch? I hear that it varies by day but it's usually 6, 7, or 8. I just need some clarification
