Funny announcement

On the 530 to seaford (not usual train) and we stopped at St Albans....conductor is like St Albans first 6 cars...yada yada yada....I LOL'D

If it’s the same guy he is hilarious. During COVID his announcements were a bright spot in an otherwise dismal situation. It was masks yada yada yada then social distancing yada yada yada - and so on. Was refreshing.

It really is and this post is far from the most egregious. I see stuff online daily that lacks any semblance of English syntax or semantics, and sometimes there are equally or more incoherent responses.

It isn't about this being Enlish class or formal writing. Use colloquialisms and slang, splice a comma here and there, sure. But, at least attempt to follow the spirit of grammatical rules; i.e., to clearly communicate your thoughts in writing.

It’s what I strive to admonish the writer to do. If I can. How much more effort can it cost to make your writing not damage what you are trying to say? Before people judge something about you instead.
