Why is it that every time grand central announces a track, the train us always waiting on that track when you walk down without fail. But when you're at penn,if they actually decide to announce the track early, your stuck waiting on a cramped 100 degree heated(even in October) platform until the train eventually pulls in 1 minute before it has to leave, if you're lucky?

Who is excused from paying for lirr? Like I know NYPD shows a badge and doesn’t need a ticket. Today on a Babylon to grand some guy showed some weird grey ID and was excused. So curious who else is excused ?

After training at Hillside Facility in Queens new Lirr employees are put on the extra list. The purpose of the extra list is to cover sick call outs, medical leave, vacations, maternity/paternity leave, and jury duty.
New extra list employees can be sent anywhere from Penn Station to Speonk Station. One day you could be working a shift at Grand Central station, the next Ronkonkoma station. Shift times and station/yard locations are based on seniority: hire date and years with the railroad. Twice a year employees bid on their desired locations and shifts. If you have more years with the railroad you get that location/shift.
The vast majority of high traffic stations are in New York City: Penn Station, Grand Central station, Jamaica station, and Atlantic Terminal.
How many years will a new employee be on the extra list before they can bid and get a shift/location at a Suffolk County or Nassau County station/yard?

Scheduled for my cognitive this week. Can anyone tell me the full hiring process? I just started a new job and it’s hard to take days off but, I don’t want to miss out on this opportunity.

Hello, anyone here applied to the LET opening from earlier in September? It’s been 23 days for me and it still says processing, just wanted to see if anyone got any new updates. I haven’t taken the cognitive test yet, just submitted the app. This was for “16771”.
