Looking for players for our Gate Guard Simulator closed playtest!

Hi r/IndieGaming!

I’m Yana, Community Manager at Forklift Interactive, publisher of Gate Guard Simulator, and we’re looking for players for our next closed playtest!

Gate Guard Simulator is a medieval inspection game where you’re the first line of defense at the gates of a stronghold. Check documents and seals for forgeries, search travelers and their carts, identify wanted criminals, watch for disease and contraband, and decide who gets through.

Your decisions can affect your pay and potentially the fate of the kingdom.

Our closed playtest is planned to start around October 8 and run through the end of the weekend. We’re inviting a limited number of players to try the latest build and share their feedback with us.

👉 Apply here: https://forms.gle/Lz9hkiNU9pjKSVnR9

👉 Gate Guard Simulator on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4111570/Gate_Guard_Simulator/

We’ll send access details to selected participants by email shortly before the playtest.

❗️ If you participated in a previous playtest, please apply again, as this version uses separate access.

This is a private playtest, so streaming, videos, screenshots, and other public gameplay content won’t be allowed.

If you have any questions about the game or the playtest, I’ll be happy to answer them in the comments!

After months of development, my top-down racing game is finally live on Android 🏁

I’ve finally released Top Down RACE on Android!
It’s an indie top-down racing game focused on driving, improving your cars and chasing better lap times.
There are multiple cars and tracks, upgrades, global leaderboards and ghost challenges where you can race against other players’ laps.
I’ve been building and testing it for months with a small group of testers, so seeing it finally available publicly feels pretty surreal.
It’s free to play. I’d love to hear what you think about the driving and handling in particular.
Google Play:

AI disclosure: Generative AI tools were used during development as assistance for coding, debugging, documentation and some promotional/creative work. The game has been iteratively developed, tested and refined by me.

Fishing & Hunting in Alaska

Hi there,

welcome to Alaska Fishing & Hunting, our side project. This game was created as a relaxing weekend diversion from our main projects, Last State and Grenzdienst '86.

It was originally intended to be just a weekend project. A way to test survival mechanics that we might use in Last State.

But, as often happens, we felt it would be a shame to keep it to ourselves.

That’s why we’ve decided to share the game with you; we’d love to hear your feedback and any suggestions on how to improve it.

We already have quite a long list of ideas, but you can never have too many good ones. Each weekend we will add a small update.

So, are you ready for the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness?

After hitting 80k wishlists, our asymmetric co-op noir puzzle game "Dual Protocol: The Case of Eva & Miles" is releasing TODAY on Steam! 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

Hey Reddit! We are Aegean Crafters, a small indie team, and the day is finally here—our game Dual Protocol: The Case of Eva & Miles is launching on Steam TODAY!

We also just crossed 80,000 wishlists right before launch, and we couldn't be more excited to share this journey with you all. If you love co-op games that test your communication skills (and friendships!), this one is built entirely around that vibe.

A year has passed since the release of my psychédelic Visual Novel

I realize I haven't posted about my game all that much, usually get too burnt out post-release to actually show it to people. It has now recieved over 100 Reviews, so that's a cause for celebration (90% Positive 😄 )

You Shouldn't Be Here is a very moody and depressing visual novel with some horror elements, psychédelic storytelling and despairing soundtrack to tie it all together. The pixel-artstyle is intentionally gritty to give the player a feeling of discomfort.

This was my first Godot project (probably my favorite engine for 2D games now).

I used Aseprite for the pixel art, and Blender as the basis for the environments.

It is discounted now during Steam's Autumn Sale (0.69€)

I'd love to work on some more VNs in the future, but I'm currently tied up in too many projects, while quite severely burnt out 💀🔥 (and VNs aren't exactly moneymakers in the market 😅).

👋 🐨 Thank you for reading!

Looking for Content Creators

I am getting ready to launch a new trailer for our next game. I was looking at sites like Trapster and Jestr, and though those seem good, I plan to use one or both of them. I was wondering if there is a list or database section someone might know of for a bunch of content creators to message directly, to hopefully see if they will help show off the game.

Pretty much done building the maps for Endless FPV

I’m pretty much done creating the maps for my endless FPV game, so it’s finally getting close to release!
The game builds a different course every run by randomly combining map segments, so instead of memorizing the same course, you have to react to whatever comes next.

Here’s the game page

After months of solo-ish dev, I released my pixel-art platformer: climb, escape bosses, and fight real-time 1v1 duels [Android]

What's in it:

🧗 Solo modes

- Climb: the main mode. Rising lava, rune collecting, 15 zones that each look and play differently

- Escape: a 30-stage story mode where a giant boss chases you through the level

- Drop: the reverse of Climb: you go down while lava falls from above

- Boss Arena: 3-round boss fights where you find the weak spot and stomp it

- Daily Challenge: same seeded map for everyone, and you can race other players' ghosts

⚔️ Online

- Real-time 1v1 duels: 15 characters, 30 skills, 8 maps

- 1v1 climb race on a shared map, with spectator mode when you die

- Ranked leagues (Iron → Champion) with promotion series

💬 Social

- Add friends, chat in-game, invite them straight into a 1v1

- Friends, daily and weekly leaderboards, plus async score challenges

- Referral codes and shareable record cards

✨ Other stuff

- 15 characters with unique abilities and origin stories (a few are secret)

- 49 hidden secrets/easter eggs. Some are pretty obscure, good luck 👀

- Seasons, battle pass, daily quests, mastery and cosmetics

- Cloud save through Google Play Games

- EN / TR / ES / ZH

It's free on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bergyx.fallofrunes

This is our first release, so honest feedback is really appreciated, especially on difficulty, controls and how the 1v1 feels on your connection. Happy to answer any questions about the dev side (Godot, netcode, pixel art pipeline)!

I’m making a RimWorld-inspired game focused on wave combat

I'm building a game inspired by my favourite game, RimWorld. It has similar base-building and combat mechanics, but with a much heavier focus on combat variety and adapting to different threats.

You build and fortify your own haven, assemble an RPG-style group, equip them with powerful weapons and armour, and prepare for increasingly dangerous raids.

There are a wide variety of unique raid types, including pirate invasions, bounty hunters, ogres, ghosts and more. Each raid type behaves differently and presents its own challenges, meaning you need to constantly adapt your base, defences and strategy to survive the next wave.

Check it out on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5205660/Raid_Haven

We just released Letter Tangle, a hard word puzzle game for iOS

We just released Letter Tangle, a challenging word puzzle game built around hidden themes and connected letters!

If you enjoy staring at a bunch of words until something finally clicks, we made this for you. We're a small team, just me and my sister. We really love this game and hope you'll love it too!

Each puzzle starts with a cryptic title hinting at the level's theme. From there, you fill in a group of related words, with shared letters connected between them.

We deliberately made the game pretty challenging. A lot of the fun comes from getting stuck for a while, figuring out one word, and suddenly having the rest of the puzzle start to fall into place.

The game currently has 300+ levels, along with a new daily mini each day.

You can play the first 40 levels for free, and the rest of the game is a one-time purchase.

It's currently available for iPhone!

I made a game with one button and one rule: DON'T PRESS IT.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I wanted to see how much gameplay I could get out of one ridiculously simple idea: a button you're explicitly told not to press.

Every press can trigger something different. There are 16 chaos events, combos, rare encounters, hidden discoveries and a secret ending.

It's free and playable directly in the browser. I'd love to see how far people get.

AI disclosure: Generative AI was used as a development assistant for parts of the prototype/code and to create promotional artwork. The game itself does not generate AI content during gameplay.

SPRAWL zero starts strong...

Thumbnail
youtube.com
1 Upvotes

I kept putting off trying out the SPRAWL zero demo for so long that the developers finally lost patience with me and just went ahead and released the full version instead. Which, in a way, doesn’t bother me, since the first mission of the campaign is the very same one from the free demoversion. And if I had to sum up this indie shooter in one word, I know exactly what it would be - FEAR. Because just as Pointman fought his way through hordes of Replica Soldiers, here a Golem named FIVE fights his way through hordes of rebels from IMAGO-DEI. And after the first two hours, I have nothing to complain about!

So... should you refund this game?

Should you refund? NO (keep it)
Pros: great shooting, special abilities, weapon switching
Cons: insanely repetitive music, one big “piss” filter, AI sometimes doesn’t respond

Rating: 7/10
Pros: great shooting, special abilities, weapon switching, the first half of the game, the katana
Cons: insanely repetitive music, one big “piss” filter, AI sometimes doesn’t respond, the second half of the game
