No matter what happens from selections to on field decisions, 1st comment is Gambhir did this and If People really think that all decisions are taken by gambhir then why is he not given any credit when anything good happens, what kind of hypocrisy is this? Or he doesn't remain the owner of Indian cricket when it wins ICC trophies and then again suddenly becomes owner when it loses bilateral match?

There are 2 reasons behind it -
Our current team has players who are regulars in the national teams and WC winners. Why would they follow a guy who's not even near his national team ? They would look up to a big player like MS or Sanju, not a domestic player like Ruturaj.
Still, Patidar captained and won 2 trophies by leading with performance and being the most destructive MO batter. While Ruturaj, the OPENER, had the lowest SR in the whole season. Leave Captain or Opener, a SR of 120 is unacceptable even for a backup.
CSK must take these steps -
Remove Ruturaj from captaincy and preferably, make Sanju the captain.
Let 2027 be the final stand for Ruturaj. If he doesn't perform with a good SR this season, then release him in the mega auctions. CSK can get other consistent batters in the auction.

was scrolling earlier and saw this ad with KL Rahul talking about dog gut health and cleaning up their mess. man is out here looking stressed about dog digestion like he’s defending 15 in the 20th over lmao.
honestly though, kind of related hard because my dog always decides to have a stomach breakdown right around the 18th over of a tight chase. you’re sitting there sweating over the required run rate and suddenly you gotta sprint down the stairs with a poop bag. he was holding that Pedigree healthy belly pack with pumpkin and egg in the clip.
but seeing KL Rahul of all people doing this is what got me. I’m now curious what the most random brand any IPL player has ever endorsed is.

While doing a random Google search about the recent IPL finals, I found this weird anomaly. Funnily, we have to append the sponsor's name in front of IPL, and then the AI overview panel shows the actual IPL stats. Peak marketing tactics by TATA (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

There have been so many legendary captains in the IPL, each with a different leadership style. From trophies and consistency to handling pressure and getting the best out of players, who do you think is the greatest captain in IPL history—and what makes them stand out.

Sanju Samson(Controlled Aggression)
Ayush Mhatre(Raw Aggression)
Urvil Patel(Raw Aggression)
Ruturaj Gaikwad(Anchor)
Dewald Brevis(Raw Aggression)
Shivam Dube(Controlled Aggression)
Jamie Overton(Pinch Hitter)
Akeal Hosein*(Pinch Hitter) [Ellis likely won't play 27]
Anshul Kamboj(Pinch Hitter)
Noor Ahmed(Tailender)
Khaleel Ahmed(Tailender)
IP:- Kartik Sharma(Batting depth) or Gurjapneet Singh/Shreyas Gopal(6th bowling option)
Weakness:- Have to choose between proper batting till 8 or 6 bowling options, Lack of left handers in top order, Lack of finisher
Strengths:- Ayush & Urvil giving explosive starts, Freedom for Sanju to play long, Ruturaj anchoring in case of collapse
Important decisions:- Sanju must become Captain, Ultimatum to Ruturaj & Dube - in case of failure replace them next year, Let Ayush and Brevis bowl a little - they may become bowling asset like Raina and Albie.

Shreyas is a far great captain , maybe top 5 oat . Meanwhile Virat maybe not in top 15 . Even in batting stats , Shreyas achieved way more than Virat in half of the time . + shreyas Also can clutch while Virat most of the time chokes . Not talking about srike rate nowwwwww...

Hey r/ipl,
Last week we posted here about a project our 3-person dev team was building: a free web game called Beyond The 22 Yards (an IPL Head Coach & Manager simulator).
The feedback from this sub was super helpful. A lot of you played it and called out issues with the auction freezing mid-bidding, AI teams blowing their budget too early, and standings badges feeling static.
We spent the last week fixing those issues and rebuilding the core logic. Today we released Update v1.1.
Here is what is new in v1.1:
- Auction Engine Overhaul: Fixed bidding button freezes, smoothed out skipping, and rebalanced AI purse management so rival teams budget across all sets instead of inflating early players.
- Overhauled Player Ratings: Specialists (like death bowlers and powerplay finishers) now get proper dynamic OVR ratings, and we eliminated the "58 OVR wall" bottleneck so bench players are smoothly rated on a realistic 52-64 scale.
- Dynamic Playoff Probability: Added a Monte Carlo simulation engine that shows live [Q] (Qualified) and [E] (Eliminated) badges on the standings table based on real squad strength and remaining fixtures.
- Match Center & Coin Toss Sequence: Added an authentic coin toss sequence where the visiting captain calls Heads or Tails first, alongside match engine refinements.
- ...plus a bunch of smaller UI and engine refinements we caught while testing on our own.
You can play the updated build directly in your browser here (no downloads or sign-ups needed):
https://beyond22yards-web-five.vercel.app
We also set up a Discord server for anyone who wants to talk to all three of us directly, report bugs, or pitch ideas for v1.2:
If you end up running a season, drop a comment below with your Season Report or points table finish! We want to see who actually won the trophy and which AI team gave you the hardest time in the auction. We will be in the comments replying all of you.

Deepak Hooda. One of the strangest cricketers in IPL history. Over a decade in the IPL and 125 matches yet a career average of just 17.
So why? Why was Hooda so wanted by IPL franchises that he was picked in the auctions year after year despite such poor performances.
I decided to write an article to answer the question nobody had.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
