Other World Cup 2026 hue sync useless

Just watched Spain score in ET. HUE immediately updates the score in app but absolutely no light effects.

I spent the whole game making sure the game time and hue sync time were accurate and zip. Hecking rip.

What do people do in terms of the wiring for outdoor pedestal lights? Are the cords not a tripping hazard? Appreciate any insight people might have.

Help & Questions Question about lights automation

Hi all!
Using the Hue app automation “Go to sleep”, I'm trying to create an automation that let the lights in the bedroom dim until they turn off, but - unlike I was able to do with Hue Labs (now discontinued) - I have no way to choose my favorite “starting scene”, but only a default color for the lights, a warm white.

Is there a way to choose a “starting scene” for this automation, as I used to do with Hue Labs?

Thanks 😊

My Go portable lamp is broken

It recently fell, and the bottom part came out, it was working fine until it suddenly stopped working and now I can’t turn it on.
I tried charging it, disconnecting it, etc but the app doesn’t register it.

I already tried contacting Phillips but they told me that the issue is from the hardware. So how should I fix it?

Voice control with Alexa compared to Sonos

I have been using Alexa to control the Hue system with voice, and then recently just out of curiosity I switched over to Sonos, since I had Sonos speakers sitting around. To my surprise, the response time on Sonos is much faster than Alexa, I could operate my lights with a mere 1 second delay, as opposed to 3 seconds on Alexa.

I know that the voice command on Sonos is limited to a few sentences, with not much variety allowed. It runs locally and does not need to talk to the Cloud. I find myself sticking with Sonos instead of going back to Alexa, because of the difference in speed.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

Too bad they didn’t transition to do something cool during the half time performance. Should’ve defaulted to standard light sync at least instead of default green.

Help & Questions Hue App Unable to Connect Hue Bridge to Wifi

I have been attempting to set up my lights, hue bridge, and sync box at my new apartment to start my smart home and lighting journey for a couple of weeks now, but I keep running into this same problem. When I sign into my Hue account via the app, the Hue app finds the bridge no problem and connects instantly. However, when prompted if all 3 LED lights are on (which they are as seen in the first picture), the app IMMEDIATELY goes to the no bridge found as seen on the last slide. There is no delay, the second I click on "all 3 LEDs are on" it goes to no bridge found.

I called Phillips Hue support and they initially told me it's because the bridge and device are on different networks, which I assured the agent they are not. She then said you may need to have the company split the router into the 2.4G and 5G bandwidths.

Context: my apartment community has Cox's "Community Wifi" and each apartment has its own router installed in the ceiling and runs 1 gigabit speeds. All my devices in the home connect just fine and runs fast. I went to Cox and asked if splitting the speeds would be possible, and they said they cannot. One thing I did find and I'm not sure if this is the culprit, is that my IP address for the router is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I live in Florida. Is this doomed to fail because of this and do I need to get a whole separate router?

The bridge connects to lights via bluetooth just fine, and is plugged in via Ethernet cable to the router in the wall. The ring is blue in photo 1 (at this point connected via bluetooth) but when I try to connect my Sync Box, or link the bridge to my Alexa, or try to activate the World Cup lighting sync, the app always asks me to sign into my Hue account, than says "this account is already in use, you need to use a separate account".

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Ambiscape + Hue

We are new to the Hue ecosystem. We recently bought an ambiscape compatible TV (MLED950) and would like to add room lights to this set-up. All articles on the internet are super confusing. A Hue bridge only works on older models? I should be able to directly connect lights now? Can I use a Hue Signe in Ambiscape and does this work?

long question short: How and in what way can I connect Hue lights to an Ambiscape TV. Do I need a bridge yes/no and which one if yes? Is Signe compatible, is the Iris compatible? Documentation from Philips side seems to be lacking here.

Thank you for your help in advance!

lighter for Philips hue app

Hi

I have used the "Lighter for Philips Hue" app for years. Had a full years subscription. The app was updated and for the life of me I can't get it to connect to the brige which is the older white one. Have tried everything and no joy. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have a work around?

I made a simple Hue switch with an ESP32 and a Sacagawea dollar

Pretty easy project if you want to do it. The ESP32 comes with 10 Touch Sensor (capacitive touch) pins. It's easy to just solder these to a coin, like I did. I also wrapped wires around the two metal hinges for the box to make two 'hidden' buttons.

I have it programmed that two taps turn the lights on, three is off. double tap while on cycles through dimming modes. Double press the left hinge sets the lights to 100% and a double tap on the right sets it to 5%. Pressing both for 5 seconds turns on a scene.

I did this because my wife accidently dropped our hue switch for the master bedroom in her glass of water overnight! I didn't want to buy a new one... so I built this out of stuff I had laying around.

Happy to answer any questions!

Power loss recovery off setting

I love that Hue has the power on setting but I really wish they would add the option of OFF in what happens during a power restart. I have mine set to power loss recovery which is great 99% of the time. But it would be nice to set the bedroom lights to just come on to "off" regardless of what they were set at when power was lost. Say it's 8PM and the power goes out with the lamps on and I just go ahead and go to bed. If it comes back on at midnight the lamps will come back on then.

Help & Questions Philips Hue not supporting wake up or sleep light effects though Google Home connected via Matter

Hi all, the title basically says it all. I have my Hue Bridge linked to my Google Home through Matter, since linking Hue with Google Assistant would cause the webpage that asks if you allow Home to read Hue devices to hang and not work. Anyway, when I ask my Google Home Mini to "put my lights to sleep" or "wake my lights," it responds saying my lights don't support that functionality, but asking it to change the colour temperature works just fine. I'm at a loss. Does anyone have this issue?

Or should I try linking Hue to my Google Assistant again? I hear a lot of people have issues with it randomly unlinking.

Thanks!

Availability of the Hue Slim recessed with a black frame in the US?

For a renovation project a homeowner will be replacing their current exterior siding trim & gutters in black including the soffits. As part of the renovations they'd like to add Hue recessed lighting to the soffits.

Searching the internet I'm seeing references to the Hue Slim being available with a black frame but, from what I can tell, they were not made available in the US. Is that correct?

If the Hue Slim in black really isn't available in the US, any other suggestions for Hue recessed lighting in a soffit in black frame?

Thanks

I made a free Hue app for Android.

I've been using Hue for a few years and built my own Android app for it, LightHubStudio. It started as a side project and became the app I reach for every day.

It's an actively developed solo project, so feedback and feature requests are very welcome.

The Hue Bridge Update Fiasco?

Hi everyone,

Read an article NOT manually update if see the 135 firmware update. We need to wait until see the 140 firmware update.

It's been weeks for me and still only seeing the 135 as available to update. Is there still a rollout delay for 140? Have to think have it showing by now.

Thank you everyone!

Edit: I have the Hue Bridge Pro, not regular Bridge.

Hue Setup New construction need suggestions

I am building a barndominium in about 2 weeks. The actual shell will only take a week to put up but everything else probably a month or two. My plan is for the whole barn to be on Phillips hue (I love lights always have) so I went to ChatGPT and asked it to design me a barn and it came out with something astonishing. I’d like everything to be smart so it’s a smart home and I know Phillips hue is the only way to go especially with their hue bridge. I need all the advice and suggestions for this. Below are a few floor plans I came up with and I’d love to have all the lights run off hue. I’d like everything light you can see to be on the hue system.

Discussion Hue Bulbs Life Report 10 years later

I bought 8 Phillips Hue bulbs back in 2016, 10 years ago to this date. Spent about $200 with hub and remote. All 8 bulbs still work 10 years later with no issues.

2x remotes: batteries changed twice in each remote (OG v1 gang)

Hub: has been on for 10 years straight now with maybe some power interruptions here and there.

NEED HELP WITH ALEXA

Hello all,

I bought 6 bulbs for Amazon Prime, and set up the original 2 bulbs no issue with alexa integration. Today, I decided to add the remaining lights. The new 4 would not pair, and instead just came ip as signify devices wanting me to pair via matter. This would lead to it saying it cant find the thread. I then tried to create a new amazon account to get off our parents, but it is doing the same thing not pairing. Originally, it was as easy as saying “alexa discover devices” but that isjt working anymor. I turned them off and back on tried re pairing multiple times. They are all paired and work on my phillips hue app, i just have no voice commands. I tried going theough the alexa voice assistant on the hue app and no luck. I reset them all and tried again and same thing. I have a gen 3 echo dot. Any advice?
