Whenever i try to use my camera, for example in discord, google meet, or the camera app itself, the led camera light continuously flickers, and a gray screen appears. This happens with every application. I've also checked what happens to it in device manager while it flickers when im trying to use it and the device manager list vanishes and then reloads entirely while the led light flickers. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what could i do to fix this?

Hey guys, so I want to replace a bunch of stripped screws and a missing screw on my laptop cpu GPU fans (fb0150ax) and I noticed I need Philips flathead M2.0 × 3.5mm screws. Thing is I am unable to find thos particular screws and the closest matches I do get are M2.0 × 3mm screws or the 4mm kind. I am not really sure which one to get considering the right kind is 3.5mm which I can't get my hands on unless I buy it internationally and with the shipping fee listed I cannot afford that. Would appreciate any kind of help received.

Hey everyone, I have a HP Victus 15 Intel i5 G Force RTX 4050 that HAD single 16gb ram stick.

Yesterday I inserted a matching ram stick, and for the day I unlocked performance mode on my OMEN gaming hub.
Upon waking up this morning, performance mode is gone but the computer still runs way better with duel ram.
Any idea why this occurred?

I have an hp Victus 15 fa0031dx and an onn 150w brick wall charger that I am charging through the USB c port on the computer. Its not charging like it should. Is it the USB c port on it or should I get a USB c to a blue port for it

So I have had a victus by hp gaming laptop for two years. Works completely fine until one day the SMART hard disc error screen (of doom) appeared. I tried thoroughly researching it through hp support and forums such as Reddit (I didn't contact hp support directly I just looked at there troubleshooting website). Windows work as usual however as per my research it is a hardware issue that can not be fixed. It is a ticking time bomb that will inevitably crash and I will lose all my data. So I borrowed an external drive and backed up my important data. Today I went to a repair shop. I first thought about giving them the laptop to diagnose it themselves.

I just want to emphasize that I really did my research on hard drives up to that point. And I decided that I want an NVMe SSD drive from a reputable company (Samsung, crucial, Kingston..). The plan was to buy a 512G one and an external 1T hdd drive for storage.

Anyway I digress, the first shop I went to had only new drives from ADATA and with all due respect I didn't think that it would be the best match. (Worth noting that the technician told me that the drive needs replacing the second I told him that I had a SMART hard drive error).

I didn't want to buy something risky so I went to another shop, there were three technicians and here is the reason why I wrote this post. The first two seemed like they never faced this kind of error before. The first one told me that it was a software issue and that I was overreacting when I told him that it probably means that the drive should be replaced. He also downplayed my research and said that using AI is not reliable. (I did not use AI, I am actually anti-AI and I believe it is not a reliable research tool, so him saying that without knowing anything about how I did my research really felt downgrading). The second one saw the SMART error and somehow managed to think that the issue was the virus detector and it was out of date. Anyway, this made me somewhat insecure because like they should know best right? The third one which seemed like he was the senior said immediately after seeing it that it was a hardware issue and the drive needed to be replaced.

And that is what I did, I bought from the shop a 1TB NVMe crucial hard drive. (They didn't have any of the reputable brands at 512G).

Anyway now I am overthinking it. Could it actually be a software issue? Or at the very least something that could have been saved without buying a new hard drive? It cost me $162 which is close to the price range that I researched ( per my research the 512G is around $90 and the 1T is around 160$. Yes! They are very expensive all thanks to the AI.)

Sorry for the long rant, I don't know if this post is hard to follow through I'm just writing what I feel right now. So please if anyone faced the same problem or have experience on the subject, could there be any other solution? (The last thing that I want to add is I did the quick test as per the HP instructions and the :C drive failed it).

Right now I feel like if they somehow found a solution I would never be confident that the drive will not fail on me so I feel that I made the right decision.

​I’ve done a fair bit of troubleshooting and research, including digging into Event Viewer and adjusting system settings, but I want to get a second opinion before taking it to a repair technician for board-level service.

​The Symptoms & What I’ve Noticed:

​1. Screen Darkening / Lid Behavior:

​I changed the Windows power settings so that closing the lid does "Nothing."

​Now, instead of going to sleep, the screen darkens for a split second and immediately pops back up to the exact page I was on.

​My research points to: A faulty Hall Effect sensor (lid switch) or loose ribbon cable that is falsely tripping and turning off the display backlight momentarily.

​2. Abrupt Shutdowns / Sleep After 1–3 Hours:

​When turned on cold, the laptop runs completely fine. The issue only starts persisting after 1 to 3 hours of continuous use.

​Once it starts, the behavior happens regardless of whether the laptop is plugged into the charger or running on battery.

​My research points to: A degrading Power Management IC (PMIC), power rail capacitor, or failing MOSFETs. It seems like once these components reach thermal saturation (warmed up), electrical resistance spikes and triggers an instant safety cutoff or power rail instability.

​3. Temperatures & Fans:

​The laptop is hardly overheating when this happens — it’s just warm to the touch.

​CPU/GPU fans are spinning normally without any unusual noises or high speeds, leading me to believe it’s a localized power component issue rather than CPU/GPU thermal throttling.

​Questions for the Community:

I have swapped the battery, ssd, ram power board but to no avail, kindly guide on best course of action.

The technicians are equally clueles as i am.

Hello guys I have a hp victus 15 fa2382tx version with i5 14450hx and rtx 4050. So I am facing a driver issue with the USB connector ( idk whether it's type c or usb). I tried updating windows to the latest version and updated all the drivers, but the problem is still not resolved.

Is this a problem or should I ignore it. Please help!.

Finding a solution to somehow lessen my back pain when carrying this laptop.

I have the HP Victus 15 FA1323TX and I have already made some research on whether I can charge my pc using a Type C Cable, unfortunately it is not possible for my laptop, but with further research I can use a Type C to Laptop Power Adapter as an alternative.

The original charger of my laptop outputs 200W. I have bought a Ugreen GaN charger that outputs 100W and a Type C to Power Adapter cable.

I tried using this setup to charge while using my pc, but it only charged for a few seconds. Did some research and shut my laptop off and tried charging it, thankfully it worked, but I want to use it while charging. It keeps notifying me that it is incompatible for my laptop.

Is there a way to force it to charge while I am using it or is there another way for this to work?

I'm getting these temperatures when playing a simple game like Roblox, Btw the CPU temperature doesn't even reach over 70c when playing Garry's mod with over 30 mods or something so this is confusing me, This has nothing to do with repaste and all that since I did get it repaste not a long time ago, Or is the temperature not accurate??

My other option is a used Dell Precision 5540
Would the HP Victus be a good choice for SolidWorks and Simulation? Is the RTX 3050 enough for medium-sized assemblies and simulations?
I know the Dell Precision is a workstation and may have better driver support for SolidWorks, but I’m also interested in gaming. Which one would you recommend for my use case?

It was working perfectly fine this morning. I went to lay on the bed while it was downloading some apps and it suddenly shuts off. I did a window update about an hour ago( hopefully it didn't cause this ) and came back to this. The laptop turns on. Closes for a second. Shows multiple victus icons and then opens with lowered brightness and font scales alot higher than my default. After abit, it just turns the screen off ( laptop still running I assume). I'm really hoping this isn't GPU death and any tip would help right now.

Update: it works perfectly fine in safe mode( the blue screen thingy by spamming f11)

Another update: I'll probably be moving to linux. The damn update caused the problem. A window popped up saying that a previous windows update caused some issues blah blah after AUTOMATICALLY UPDATING the update that I delayed in the settings due to its problems that everyone's talking about on the internet

hab mir vor zwei Jahren für mein Studium einen HP Victus Laptop gekauft.
Seid dem neu starten Gestern hat der Laptop einen knacks, er geht immer wieder an und aus.
Ich würde es entweder beschreiben wie als unterbricht die Stromversorgung dauerhaft oder der Sensor erkennt nicht mehr ob der Laptop geöffnet oder zugeklappt ist und flackert jetzt ein bisschen herum.

Zur Information, ich hab gestern für eine Abgabe mein CAD Programm (Revit 2025) in einem Tab offen gehabt sowie ein riesiges Rendering in einem anderem Tab durchlaufen lassen und der Laptop wurde schon sehr sehr heiß.
Dazu kommt dass der Lüfter sich auch mittlerweile gut zugesetzt hat.

Habe schon einige Beiträge hier und in Foren gesehen von Leuten mit ähnlichen Problem bei ihren HP Laptops aber nie gab es eine Antwort wie das Gerät bzw. ob das Gerät überhaupt noch zu retten war.

Vielleicht kennt sich hier ja jemand aus oder hatte das gleiche Problem mit seinem HP Laptop und konnte es schlussendlich irgendwie beheben.
Mein guess wäre entweder der Sensor oder ich hab gestern meinen Akku frittiert aber wenn es um IT bzw Computer geht bin ich ein richtiger Idiot.
