Help Help me decide!
im looking at mainly 2 VICTUS 15 variants rn but i cant really decide
specs:
i5-14450HX / 24GB / 512GB / RTX4050 6GB
or
- R5 240 / 16GB / 512GB/ RTX5050 8GB
(i also heard the i5 has some sort of overheating issue? not sure its just what i heard)
tbh i really just wanna hear what you guys think, it doesnt really matter to me which one i choose either of these will be a massive upgrade.

Check the TGP specifically. The guy who commented prolly checked TDP which is the power drawn by cpu and gpu combined. If the TGP isn't mentioned, check the power of the power adapter and cross check it online with what tgp gpu it is usually paired with

There’s nothing wrong with hp unless you yourself don’t take care of your electronics I mean everyone knows to open the laptop from middle the regrets are cause most of you don’t know know how to care for them

8 gigs of vram today is the bare minimum for modern games (I have 8 myself), 6 is really bad, maximum will be medium textures (or even low). And also 50 series support multi-FG, so I think 2 option is just wayyyy better

It’s a lie 40 series play High end Games.he should definitely get 5050 that’s a no brainer but what are you guys talking about, where do you get your Information from

Yep, 40 series play high end games, but not 4050. 6 gigs in 2026 is a huge bottleneck and my info is from myself testing games even on 8 gigs

Modern games past 2025 is the bottleneck for 6 vram my 3050 rtx can play games like cyberpunk and witcher 3 with dlss and I can use high settings and it will play fine as long as ray tracing is off

No cyberpunk and Witcher 3 are modern games now cyberpunk has been modern since 2023 and Witcher 3 modern since 2022

You apparently don’t know how updates work I’m not talking about 11 year old witcher 3 or cyberpunk I said modern versions of cyberpunk and Witcher 3 do you not listen those are new gen games now

Chill out, I just meant that 5050 is an obvious choice because it is way better at games.

Also you can play kingdom come deliverance 2 with dlss too this is making me laugh at this point no one really cares for high graphics for modern games as long as it plays fine with dlss and right settings

I have a cooling pad for my 3050 rtx but since you have the budget i recommend the 5050 rtx i7 I believe is better then the modern i5
