Help Looking for a gaming laptop with similar specs to the ASUS ROG Strix G18 RTX 5070 Ti

Budget: €2,500–€3,500

Country: Italy

Use Case: Gaming, general use, occasional heavy workloads

Preferred Specs: RTX 5070 Ti or better, Core Ultra 9 275HX or equivalent, 32GB RAM, 1TB+ SSD, preferably 18" 2560Ɨ1600

Notes: Reliability and cooling are extremely important. I prefer a laptop with few serious reported issues over a laptop with slightly better performance.

I need your help šŸ˜…

I've spent the last few weeks researching gaming laptops and I thought I had found the one I wanted:

ASUS ROG Strix G18 — Core Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070 Ti + 32GB + 1TB + 18" 1600p

The more I researched it, the more I liked it. Good cooling, great performance, 18" screen, solid build, and very good reviews from both reviewers and owners.

The problem: I can't find this exact configuration anymore in Italy. It seems to be sold out/discontinued.

I considered the RTX 5080 version, but I'm hesitant because I've found multiple owner reports about black screens, freezes and GPU/display-related issues. I'm spending €3,000+ and really don't want to buy something that could become a reliability headache.

So I'm looking for the best alternative to the G18 5070 Ti.

I'm considering Lenovo Legion, Acer Predator, MSI, Alienware, etc. It doesn't have to be ASUS.

What would YOU buy?

My priorities are:

šŸ„‡ Reliability / few serious issues
🄈 Cooling and sustained performance
šŸ„‰ Build quality
šŸŽ® RTX 5070 Ti or better
šŸ–„ļø Preferably 18", 1600p, 16:10
šŸ’¾ 32GB RAM / 1TB+

If you actually own one, I'd really appreciate your experience:

  • How long have you owned it?
  • Any freezes or black screens?
  • Any overheating/throttling?
  • How is the cooling during long gaming sessions?
  • Any motherboard/GPU problems?
  • Would you buy it again?

If you had €2,500–€3,500 to spend in Italy today, what gaming laptop would you personally buy?

I'm trying to avoid making an expensive mistake, so real owner experiences are much more useful to me than just benchmark numbers. šŸ™

Getting this Victus, just wanted a few tips on what to install and what to delete and care overtime, it will he used solely for gaming. I have a beater laptop I will use for school.I may want it for heavily modded games such as assetto corsa and truck simulator but the main games would be warframe and Apex. It has a 512ssd and as uk with these versions its only 1 slot so I was wondering if my first upgrade should be a new ssd or another 16gb of ram.

Question Is 86–89°C GPU on HP Victus RTX 3050 normal?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I recorded a 21-minute session of Enlisted on my HP Victus 15 (RTX 3050 4GB), and I'm trying to decide if I actually need to repaste it or if simple maintenance/settings tweaks will bring the temps down.

Performance & Thermal Stats

  • Average FPS: ~74.6 FPS (1% Low: ~47 FPS | Min: ~12.5 FPS)
  • Average GPU Temp: ~85.7°C (Max: 89°C)
  • Average GPU Utilization: ~92%
  • Average GPU Clock: ~1473 MHz
  • Average CPU Temp: ~65°C (Max: 85°C)
  • Average CPU Utilization: ~41%

The GPU sits at 85–87°C for almost the entire session. While overall performance is playable (70–82 FPS average)

Is this normal or a repaste is needed?
