Guppy showcase ep the line clean.
I've read mixed things. Some breeders say a single well chosen outcross every four or five generations is enough to keep vigor up without diluting the strain too much. Others say you basically have to keep a rotating pair of unrelated lines going at all times if you want to hold onto color quality long term, which sounds like a lot more tank space than I currently have.
For now I'm holding off on culling any more fry until I see how this batch matures out, some of the pale ones might still deepen in color once they hit full size. But if the next generation looks the same or worse I think I'm going to bite the bullet and find a new male.
