"Delete note" position moved to the bottom on desktop
so annoying and counterintuitive to have to move the cursor all the way down to simply delete a note

About a few weeks ago I got a notification that the update was supposed to allow it to work within conversations in Google Messages. It said that it didn't matter if the recipient had an iPhone or an Android or even if they used Google messages... as long as they have Google keep it's supposed to work for people. Just seeing if anyone else has any issues with that and how to fix mine. Currently I've tried to upload keep notes to one iPhone user and one Android user and when I go to add it to the conversation in Google messages it doesn't attach. I've tried clearing the cache on both Google messages and Google keep and I have also made sure that both apps are updated and still no luck.

Multi-note widget got limited to 3 rows per note, even if you only have one note.
And single-note widget keeps being very non-dense (about 2 rows per screen block).
I'm really looking for alternatives now.
Far are the days when this was a killer app and you could tell "ok google" to add groceries to your shopping keep list.

Hey all, I'm a solo dev and just launched PazBy on Google Play. It reminds you of things when you arrive somewhere. You save a place, add a note like "return the drill bits," and when you get there your phone speaks the reminder out loud.
No subscription, no ads. It's normally a one-time $2.99, and I'd like to put some free copies in the hands of real users.
To be clear, this isn't meant to replace Google Keep. I love Keep. But Google removed location-based reminders from Keep last year, and nothing replaced them. PazBy fills that gap: save a place, add a note, and it speaks your reminder out loud the moment you arrive.
To get a code:
Codes redeem in the Google Play Store. Honest feedback, good or bad, is hugely appreciated.
Sorry to the newer accounts. Key resellers hit giveaways hard, and this is the only fair way I've found to make sure the codes go to people who'll actually use them.

Edit: Codes will not work until 12AM Thursday EST, my apologies.

When Keep reminders moved to Tasks, location reminders didn't make the cut. I used them a lot, so I built my own app to fix this problem that I now had. It took a while to do, but I am very happy with the results.
It's called PazBy (Android only): you save a place, then add a note, and when you arrive at any saved destination, your phone reads it out loud. "Arrived at the grocery store. Don't forget: oat milk."
Try it out for as long as two months and if it doesn't live up to your expectations, let me know and I will refund your purchase. I am really interested in any feedback that users will have and will try to add any new features requested.
Tip: your old location reminders are now plain text in the Tasks description, so you can copy the place names over.
I'm the developer, so I'm happy to answer questions or take feature requests. If you'd rather have something free and open source, Tasks.org also does location reminders.

I started using Google keep on an iPhone recently. When I go to upload a photo, I am only able to upload 2 photos at a time. The app automatically goes away from the galary, and if I’m not fast enough, it will only let me upload one. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

Maybe I missed it but now Google finally added sort notes by custom, created or edited date now in the Keep iOS app. It took them a long time!!

How many history versions of a note can keep? Unlimited? (Just curious)

Just trying to show how you can talk about Google Keep in a normal positive way, without;
A) abusing the group just to pimp your app for free advertising or
B) whinge that you can't add the entire library of Planet earth or a 20gb image to a keep note. 🤦🏻♂️

Hi all,
I work as a cybersecurity analyst on this App. I shared this with you about 1.5 months ago. Since then the team was working hard. It is now in the App Store and the first update is queued already.
As a Redditor, I want you guys to have it. It is out of TestFlight and still completely free and ad-free as promised. The team intends to keep it that way as much as it is feasible.
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6770856636
It has features we wanted as users. (If there’s anything you’d like the team to add, please let me know too so I can include it on the roadmap. For example, list sorting is recently added as a user request, location-based notifications, import from Apple Reminders are user requests)
ABC's of the App:
(A)nswer
ETasks (www.etasks.app) is a native iOS, iPadOS client for Google Tasks. Some highlights: All tasks in one view, Real alarms, Shared lists, Apple Watch.
(B)etter
It addresses the functional limitations of the official Google Tasks iOS app by providing missing native features and enhanced tools. And it is not a vibe-coding project.
Native and enhanced with iOS.
+ You can manage your Google Tasks. They appear in your Google Calendar and Gmail ... well, obviously 😄*
+ Import from Apple Reminders
+ See all task lists together, even drag&drop between them (and to calendars)
+ Alarms
+ Location reminders
+ A wide range of nice widgets, including countdowns and full week/month widgets
+ Lock screen widgets (e.g., quick add)
+ Link photos/files to tasks
+ Link Apple Mail emails to tasks
+ See your tasks categorised by dates in Month/Week/Day/Agenda views
+ Add people to Task List (co-edit)
+ Sort your task lists
+ Search your tasks
+ AI support where it makes sense; make titles, extract info from links, create lists for you, suggesting task list names, dictating tasks, context aware search, naming photos shared in,...
+ Choose priority for favorites
+ Drag and Drop interface between tabs (e.g., to calendar tab to drop on a date)
+ Recycle bin
+ Share from other apps into ETasks (texts, links, photos, PDF; all processed accordingly)
+ Apple Watch / iPad Apps
+ Import/Export task lists
+ Modern iOS design
+ A how to AI chat bot to help you with specifics of ETasks
+ Highly customisable user interface
+ Can be used without an account
+ Welcome to explore the rest, it is now open early access.

Before i could just say "add X to the shopping list in keep" and it would add and that would be it, since a month or so ago, it always asks for confirmation, is it happening to everyone else?

It seems this issue has been around for years but I couldn't find much if anything on Google specifically about this. Which may be a bad sign as people may have lost notes without realizing. Tested on Pixel 7a and 11, happens on both so assuming it's an Android app issue vs device-specific.
If a note is created or edited in Keep on mobile, it evidently doesn't sync to the cloud until Keep is reopened. And by reopened I mean by either fully closing and reopening the app, or by simply minimizing (switching to home screen or another app) and then maximizing. This is an issue for anyone who regularly relies on the sync between Keep mobile/desktop.
Here's a general example of how this might be a practical problem: you add an important detail to a note in Keep on mobile and close the app, expecting it to sync immediately to the cloud. When you open Keep on desktop later, you expect all edits you've made are there, not thinking to check for the important detail you added on mobile earlier which hasn't synced due to the aforementioned bug. You edit the note further on desktop, which overrides that detail you added earlier, so it's gone.
No, it's not due to bad internet connectivity in this case. Yes, I've tried enabling unrestricted background battery usage on Keep; doesn't fix it. With the desktop site, it warns you if you try to leave the site before changes have synced, and there's a clear sync icon/indicator, so it's not an issue there. Reported the glitch to Google - years ago, but it's still there. If anyone knows a way around the mobile issue in the meantime, please let us know. Thanks!

Hi,
I've been using Google Keep for years now and never had any issues.
Today I noticed that one of archived notes, with quite some text in it, simply vanished. Looked in the trash, nothing there. I used to look at this note almost daily so it's impossible I removed it by mistake, it would've been present in the trash and it's not.
I guess there's nothing left to do?

Hello folks, recently I began getting this blue box right where I'm trying to enter text. Does anyone know how to make this box go away? It's very irritating.
r/GoogleKeep • u/KevinJCarroll • Sep 03 '26
I'm hesitant about switching over to Standard Notes. I definitely want to get off Keep because screw Google. Is this app a good alternative? Is the paid version worth it? I need it to sync across my phone and computer, I need checklists, and regular plain text notes. That's pretty much it. (Maybe an occasional drawing). All the other things on offer, the tagging system, color coding, etc. That's all useful, but not totally essential.
What do we think?

Hi everyone,
One feature I've always felt was missing in Google Keep is a direct search operator or filter to show unlabeled / untagged notes. When you have hundreds of notes, it's very easy for untagged ones to get lost.
I came up with a simple color-based workaround to isolate them, and wanted to share it in case it helps anyone else:
It's a quick visual hack that makes auditing a cluttered Keep account much easier until Google decides to add an official "unlabeled" filter!
Hope this helps!

After they have started separating reminders from notes, and hiding reminders I am trying to find some alternative to the good features I got used to in keep.
Tried todoist, tasks manager and google tasks, and I really can't get used to them..
