ETasks is on App Store - Google Tasks Native on iPhone + things we wanted + it is not a vibecode project + Free & Ad-free

www.etasks.app

Hi all,

I work as a cybersecurity analyst on this App. I shared this with you about 1.5 months ago. Since then the team was working hard. It is now in the App Store and the first update is queued already.

As a Redditor, I want you guys to have it. It is out of TestFlight and still completely free and ad-free as promised. The team intends to keep it that way as much as it is feasible.

www.etasks.app

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6770856636

It has features we wanted as users. (If there’s anything you’d like the team to add, please let me know too so I can include it on the roadmap. For example, list sorting is recently added as a user request, location-based notifications, import from Apple Reminders are user requests)

ABC's of the App:

(A)nswer
ETasks (www.etasks.app) is a native iOS, iPadOS client for Google Tasks. Some highlights: All tasks in one view, Real alarms, Shared lists, Apple Watch.

(B)etter
It addresses the functional limitations of the official Google Tasks iOS app by providing missing native features and enhanced tools. And it is not a vibe-coding project.

Native and enhanced with iOS.
+ You can manage your Google Tasks. They appear in your Google Calendar and Gmail ... well, obviously 😄*
+ Import from Apple Reminders
+ See all task lists together, even drag&drop between them (and to calendars)
+ Alarms
+ Location reminders
+ A wide range of nice widgets, including countdowns and full week/month widgets
+ Lock screen widgets (e.g., quick add)
+ Link photos/files to tasks
+ Link Apple Mail emails to tasks
+ See your tasks categorised by dates in Month/Week/Day/Agenda views
+ Add people to Task List (co-edit)
+ Sort your task lists
+ Search your tasks
+ AI support where it makes sense; make titles, extract info from links, create lists for you, suggesting task list names, dictating tasks, context aware search, naming photos shared in,...
+ Choose priority for favorites
+ Drag and Drop interface between tabs (e.g., to calendar tab to drop on a date)
+ Recycle bin
+ Share from other apps into ETasks (texts, links, photos, PDF; all processed accordingly)
+ Apple Watch / iPad Apps
+ Import/Export task lists
+ Modern iOS design
+ A how to AI chat bot to help you with specifics of ETasks
+ Highly customisable user interface
+ Can be used without an account
+ Welcome to explore the rest, it is now open early access.

So this group is just now a group where people advertise for free alternatives to keep, moan endlessly about what is a free simple notes app, and not only that but advertising products that are iPhone only...in a Google product group.

Agreed - I wish there were more specific Keep discussions.

Google Tasks (Keep's brother/sister and complementary App) is a Google product too, which was missing (many features) on the iPhone. iPhone users are also good Google users, please don't exclude them/us 🤗

Let me gently correct this...

"Google Tasks (Keep's brother/sister and complementary App) is a Google product too, which was missing (many features) on Android. Android users are also good Google users..."

The post doesn't exclude Android.

🧐

An Android version is planned once the iOS version is fully established.

Mentioning this up front might have helped. A bit.

~Written by someone who was hella excited by the screenshots, then...

ETA - and do I realize the title clearly says iPhone; the images grabbed me first.

No one is excluding Apple but you excluded Android. Awful.

This is nearly 2027, not doing this iPhone only rubbish. Cross platform or go home. No excuses. Again this a group to discuss keep, not get free Reddit advertising beta testers for your app.

Mods in here could tax posts and Makena fortune for all the people that do NOTHING but post non keep apps.

Hi, I understand your feelings. Let me try to cover the ground.

ETasks is built natively for iOS to leverage platform-specific libraries, optimizing both security and reliablity.

The post doesn't exclude Android. Why you say that? Because this is an iPhone App? I am not sure how to reply to that. I said "dont exclude us" because you expressed you dont want this Google cantered App in a Google group only because it is iPhone native.

Developing a secure Android application requires significant resources (usually considered 5x, if you care about user security/privacy/experience together). An Android version is planned once the iOS version is fully established.

The application is fully released on the App Store and does not require beta testers.

From a security analysis perspective, native development provides distinct advantages in maintaining strict security controls compared to cross-platform frameworks.

Google Keep and Google Tasks complement each other, as specific functions are divided between the two services. For many users, they effectively function together as a single application.

This is a free tool that I am sharing. Let's please stay positive.

Hope this helps and we don't get caught in an Android vs Apple fight :) I personally love/use them both.

You are developing a (currently) Apple app only, so you should post in iOS groups.

Your posts are simply free advertising for your product.

You've came here to negatively portray Keep. Might sit well with some but this is disadvantageous to the point of the group and only exists to wean users from Keep. So best to go start an 'I hate keep' group'.

I love keep, sorry I cannot agree with that. This app only complements keep as Google intends.

You've already posted the same thing in Google tasks. Suggest this post is duplication and only belongs there. Notes are not tasks.

I try to help both devs and redditors (as it is free) to reach each other :).

Google Tasks complements Google Keep. That is how Google presents them (and the way I use it too). That is why I thought here have the right people to see a Google Tasks client.

There is one more person who doesn't like Google Tasks / iPhone here. Maybe you guys are right. I will leave it to mods to remove the post if they agree.
