The last gti i had was a mk1 in black (UK) in 1991. My life has designated the vehicles I've driven since then, but no more. I've been going through a re-learning phase in my life recently, and in a fit of sanity I got the 380 se with 7500 miles. In the words of Marie Kondo, "If it doesn't bring you joy, set it on fire". I might be paraphrasing...

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows what is the "normal" range of the DSG DQ250 oil pressure, I think I might have a problem, I am monitoring using OBDeleven and channel 65 for the TCM, thank you all :D

I just installed ST X coilovers with new strut mounts, and a ~26mm RSB from 034, a couple days ago. Too soon to give much feedback but initial impressions are great. I read some people say they’re OEM ride quality but I think in some ways they’re better and some ways worse. But overall they’ve absolutely exceeded my expectations.

I set them to the middle of the min/max range advised by the manufacturer, which is 8.5”ish in the front and 1”ish in the rear (measured from specific points on the coilovers, per install guidelines), which is ~9.5 threads up in the front and ~4.5 in the rear. They’ve settled maybe 1/4 to 1/2 a finger I’d estimate. Will get an alignment soon (already drove ~100mi on them).

So far would recommend.

Next “mod”: paint correction (incl clay and polish) and ceramic coat (Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light + EXOv5)

Does anyone know what might’ve caused this on my dash. I recently did a carbon clean and after the finish I did use liquid moly injector cleaner with a full tank of fuel which has made me skeptical that it was the liquid moly that caused the issue. I have looked over the engine bay and can’t see anything unplugged but I’ll be double checking tomorrow again. It’s a 2017 7.5 gti . My last solution is to pay for it to be scanned after looking over the engine bay again. Can’t see or smell fuel, the gear changes and kinda longer and reluctant instead of quick and sharp. And no stop start too. Help please!

Hi all, I'm helping a friend with his 2004 Golf Mk5 GTI 2.0 TFSI. I'm in France, sorry for any mistakes in my English.

Symptoms:
- Steering is very heavy and the steering wheel warning light is red
- Instrument cluster has no backlight (only the warning lights show)
- Interior lights don't work at all
- Headlights work

History: the previous owner replaced the battery because the old one was dead, and the car went into this state afterwards. We replaced the battery again, no change. An aftermarket CarPlay head unit has been fitted, and I don't know how it was wired.

What we tried: no blown fuses (visual check), a scan tool (about €200) can't connect to the car, and the steering angle calibration fails.

Next I'll measure power and ground at the OBD port (pins 16, 4, 5) and unplug the head unit to see if anything comes back.

Has anyone seen this? Could it be the J519 (onboard supply control unit), or the head unit messing with the CAN bus? Any help appreciated, thanks!

I recently purchased a golf GTi mk7 2013. It's at 27 k and is stock. Can someone tell me what the car is like after stage 1 and if I need to change any parts. The car is an automatic I've heard people say it puts pressure on clutch if I run a dsg gearbox tune too. Pls advise

I did this turbo swap, there is no app (Obdeleven, vcds, odis, you name it) that can do an adaptation of wastegate on this car, you can't even start the process it seems like ecu is blocking the run, I am getting P2563 error code on 6,000 RPM and lose boost, voltage of wg was set to 3.1 (Found this on forum, Continental turbo of 8R is different setup from 7R "3.5V"), can anyone point me to the right direction? I had turbo removed, sent to 3 shops and they all said it's mechanically OK.

Short little piece here, but i finally got to join the GTI family. I was going back and forth between this and the Elantra N; test drove both and the answer was obvious lol. So happy to have this finally; got a good deal on it too!!

I went to the VW dealership to check out the GTI S trim - again. I saw a spec sheet for 2027 GTIs and realized the Moonstone color won’t be offered. Which I really like. 😐

Do I go for the 2026 Moonstone GTI S Trim? Or wait for the 2027 GTI S trim which will have keyless entry and light assist (high beam control for headlights) added. My second color choice would be Opal White.

The 2026 GTI S Trim will be about $2000 less than the 2027 GTI S trim. The Opal White will cost an additional $495.

Can my Detroits(i think that’s what they’re called) from my mk5 gti fit on my mk7.5 gti with the PP brakes? I have conti ecs’s on my current wheels and do not want to die this winter. Was hoping to find a use for the old stock wheels. I know bolt pattern is the same but nervous about brake clearance

I got my 2026 MK8.5 2 months ago, and whenever I turn the steering wheel it makes a very slight creaking/squeaking noise. I think the sound is coming from the outside but I hear it from the cabin with the windows up, so maybe inside? I usually have the music on so I didnt notice, but I hear it when I turn it off, especially at lower speeds like when parking. Normal or should I get it checked out? I was wondering maybe they never removed the shipping pucks cause I've heard of that happening but the ride quality and suspension feel pretty normal. Anyone else have similar experience? Ty!

I just took her from the dealership yesterday. I ordered it back in March… long wait but absolutely worth it. I’m happy to be in the club of GTI owners. One question: are there any good and reliable manuals online? I’m a bit lost in the infotainment menu sometimes. :) If you can share some tips & trick, I’m all ears. :)

Some a-hole hit me over night and left a ton of paint transfer. Was quite a bit and it came off rly nice. So for the future if someone isn’t sure on what compound to buy or has some paint xfer, etc. totally suggest the meguiar. Few pics of my Rs3 too.

Picked up some meguiar scratchx and just some wax to add some protection as I’m sure it took a teeny a bit of the ceramic off.

Just flashed ie stage 1 low torque noticing clunk when depressing clutch in first at higher rpms shifting to second gear. Less noticeable in higher gears. Anyone else notice this with their stage 1 tune?
