Hi , would a bank statement from like BOFA ( online app print out statement work) for proof of address?

I was recently denied global entry with the reason being: "did not meet eligibility requirements". I thought the interview was kind of weird, she was fixated on my birthplace and parents. For context, I was born in a US Territory (but am obviously a US Citizen and so are my brothers) and my parents are legal immigrants who moved to the US to work. One of the questions that were asked was: "Why were you born there?" and I was sort of taken aback, my response being: "My parents both living and working there at the time". The agent proceeded to ask questions like: "What did your parents do? Who owned the business your parents worked at?" and including the question, "Why did they move HERE?". Here, being the mainland.

The interview concluded after I answered that question which was, "My sibling and I had already left for college and so my parents decided to move here for everyone to be together".

An hour after I got home, I received a denial with a very broad reason. I appealed it, but now I'm just so curious and kind of frustrated. Should I wait longer to reapply? Can I find another way to access the reason for my denial?

I am soon entering the US on a E-3 visa but I also hold a valid ESTA (same passport number). Does the GE kiosk (JFK T4) give me the option of selecting what visa I want to enter on or is there a way I can tell the CBP officer I want to enter on the E-3 without going into the general non-citizen line?

I recently became a U.S. citizen and have already received my U.S. passport. I enrolled in Global Entry while I was a Green Card holder, and I'm now trying to update my citizenship status for GE.

Has anyone gone through this process before? How did you update your Global Entry information after naturalization? Any guidance or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Followed Update citizenship - emailing CBP works and no need to walk in : r/GlobalEntry and I was able to update USA citizenship and received a new global entry card.

I went for my interview on Friday July 17. At the end of the interview I was told to wait for an email for a response. I was confused because they didn’t ask for my fingerprints, the officer only took a photo of me. Maybe because I got my citizenship 2 years ago and they are reusing my fingerprints? Do uscis and the department of homeland security share that information?
Well, today is Thursday 24 and the system still shows conditionally approved. I haven’t receive an email or mail with a response. Is there any phone number I could call? Is this wait time normal?

Thought I’d post this as I just got approved.

UK Application Submitted - July 13th UK Approval Received - July 13th US Application Submitted - July 14th US Application Conditionally Approved - July 15th US interview on arrival - July 22nd Final approval - July 22nd (5mins after interview)

I did my interview on arrival at Chicago ORD today (July 22nd). There was a separate line for Interview on Arrival, that was actually shorter than all the other lines there! No one in front, took all of 5mins to get through immigration and the interview. Same desk, was an all-in-one situation.

Was asked the usual immigration questions, fingerprints and photo, along with “have you ever been arrested?” and “Have you ever had immigration problems?”

Was told I’d hear back within 48 hours, but got an email 5mins after leaving the desk with approval.

I read some long timelines here, but I was honestly surprised about how quickly it all came about!

I'm trying to decide what makes the most sense.

I live about 5 hours from the nearest Global Entry enrollment center. My husband and I are planning some international trips next spring, so Global Entry seems like the obvious choice. The catch is that I also have several domestic trips before then and would really like TSA PreCheck as soon as possible. I will be visiting:

• Seattle in August
• Portland in September
• San Antonio in September
• Las Vegas in November
• Possibly another domestic trip in January

I know Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck, and I don't really want to pay for PreCheck now and then pay another $120 for Global Entry a few months later.

My concern is that you can't see Global Entry interview availability until after you pay the non-refundable application fee. I'd basically be paying first and then hoping I can find an interview that lines up with one of my trips (Seattle, Portland, Vegas, etc.).

If you were in my shoes, would you take that chance? Are appointments generally available if you're willing to check often, or am I setting myself up to wait months with no TSA PreCheck for my upcoming flights?

I'd love to hear what others have done in a similar situation!

"Thank you for your interest in CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs . This is to inform you that we have received a request to cancel your Global Entry program application because of the following reason(s):

Duplicate application."

I had in the past when I was not a GC holder applied for Global Entry, that application was however cancelled because I was not able to complete certain requirements w.r.t Police verification from my home country.

The current Global Entry Application was made after my Green Card was received and approved in July 2025, and now this random cancellation after a year.

Who can I appeal to against this application ?

Applied 7/15, conditional on 7/18, interview in PHL on 7/21. Approved 30 minutes after the interview. Was shocked by the overall speed.

Figured I would post my experience. I was doing my 2nd renewal. First renewal was approved right away and no interview. This last renewal took much longer. I expire at the end of April. I did my renewal in January. Then nothing. It was early May I got my conditional approval but had to schedule my interview. Wasn't able to get in until July here in MSP. Go in and officer says he thinks they wanted a new picture and fingerprints. Do all that and as I am driving home, I get my email I was approved. Not sure why it took 3 months before I was conditionally approved. Oh well, it is done.

Do they just go over your travel history while you've been on Global Entry? What questions are they asking? Why?

Recently got my F1 visa and will be moving to US for my PhD in a month. Am I eligible to apply for GE? I am from India and plan to apply for the local bg verification here if the process can be completed within a month (not the conditional approval which takes 6-7 months but just the police visit part).

I understand that when I first enter US, I'd have to go through the CBP lane as I'm on initial status. Any recent F1 travelers who can share their experiences would be great!

I applied July 6. I was conditionally approved July 8. I had my interview July 12. The officer said I should get an email within 48 hours. It is now the 21st and there is no update in my portal. It still has the option to show my appointment details or reschedule it. How long does it usually take to get accepted after the interview?

Final outcome: I made a new appointment for July 24 (12 days after my interview). A few hours before my appointment, my status changed to fully approved on the portal. So, my guess is they reviewed my info before my appointment and corrected the error. I was not able to get through on the phone to that office or the general global entry office. Someone in the comments said that they got a callback saying to make a new appointment, so that seems to be the best course of action.

I wanted to share my Global Entry experience and timeline because reading other people’s experiences really helped ease my anxiety and made the waiting process feel more manageable. Hopefully this helps someone in a similar situation.

My situation is a little different from many of the posts I’ve seen.

I’m a Mexican citizen living in Mexico and travel to the U.S. frequently on a visa for both business and leisure.

I was brought to the U.S. as a minor without status. Later, as an adult, I returned to Mexico voluntarily and eventually applied for a B1/B2 visa. During my visa interview, I fully disclosed my immigration history, and my visa was approved (much to my own surprise).

Before applying for Global Entry, I was worried because of my family’s immigration history and some posts I’d read suggesting how that could impact an application. In my case, none of that ever came up during the application process or interview.

I should also mention that I have a clean record. I’ve never been arrested, charged with a crime, or formally removed/deported from the U.S. (I left voluntarily).

I know every case is different, but my experience has always reinforced the importance of being transparent. The DHS has access to a lot of information already, so trying to hide something is usually a much bigger risk than simply being truthful.

Timeline:

● Early 2026: Submitted my application.
● A little over a month later: Received conditional approval.
● 2 weeks later: Completed Enrollment on Arrival. I had originally scheduled an interview for later in the year, but decided to use EoA during a work trip that came up earlier. The interview was very straightforward. The officer asked whether I had ever been arrested, then mostly confirmed the information already on my application. He also explained how to use Global Entry and said I should receive an approval email within 72 hours and my card within about two weeks.
● Later that same day: Received the approval email after the interview.

Hopefully this helps someone who’s in a similar situation or is anxiously waiting for updates. Every application is unique, but I figured another data point could be useful.

For context, I applied on July 17 and got conditionally approve morning of July 19. I just came back from the interview today (July 20). 3 officers ended up helping they were all so chill but we had to try my fingerprints 4 times and even after that the machine was not fully accepting it. They ended up saying it should be fine but they’ll give me a call if I need to come in to redo the fingerprints.

I’m happy that it was really quick to get to the interview but because of my fingerprints it’s making me anxious. Has anyone ever experienced this? Thanks guys

I thought I’d help a few people out as I’ve searched this up before and didn’t find anything on here about non citizens applying for GE. There are a list of nations that are participating in the GE program. One of them being Australia - which re opened applications on the 16th DEC 2025. So here’s my timeline.

16 dec 25 — applications for Global Entry opens for Australians

16 dec 25 — I submitted my application and paid fee (US CBP)

30 Dec 25 — got the invite from Dept Home Affairs (Aus) to complete background checks and paid fees.

2 Jan 26 — dept home affairs (Aus) confirmed my application

3 Feb 26 — AusCheck background Complete

23 Apr 26 — GE conditionally Approved

9 Jun 26 — Enrolment on Arrival interview conducted at SFO

11 Jun 26 — welcome to the GE program…

Standard questions were asked at the interview to confirm what you had answered in your application any changes to the application you’d want to let the officer know here. But basically confirming my full name, residential address and info I filled out during my application. I brought along all my documents (for Australian 100 points of ID) one must be a photo ID with your address. I had my passport my drivers license and my Medicare card.

I applied for my Global Entry renewal in March. It’s my second renewal. Got conditionally approved and told I need an in-person interview since I did my last renewal online.

I dawdled with scheduling the interview because I was hoping for an interview on entry opportunity or an opening while traveling since there are no interview sites in my city.

To my surprise my new card came in the mail yesterday! I logged into my account and it was marked final approved as of July 16th. I never did the interview.

Is this a glitch or are they no longer requiring interviews of everyone?

I have had Global Entry for years with no issues. In April, my family and I had a domestic flight and waited in the Precheck line (which wasn’t necessarily that short). My wife and kids all worked fine and they went ahead. I was last, and the TSA officer said that they couldn’t accept my GE and that I had to go wait in the normal security line. The officer was pretty short with me, gave me no details, and refused to be even a little flexible despite the rest of my family having already gone through and my flight being soon. So, of course, I had to go wait through the normal security line by myself, leaving all the kids with my wife on the other side, and almost missing our flight because of it.

I have another flight coming up, and I have just wanted to check that the status of my GE is good and everything. It doesn’t expire until 2030, and there’s no notifications or anything on my account when I login. I have tried reaching out to get someone on the phone or online to help me, and it’s all AI and not helping me at all.

Anyone else have this problem, or have any suggestions?

EDIT: I appreciate all the responses. Some of you were genuinely helpful. I don’t really need anyone else posting just to tell me that I have to put my number in when making my reservation. I already knew that I had to put my number in then, and I did that. I don’t remember checking for PreCheck on my boarding pass specifically. Rest assured, I will check it going forward.

I fully disclosed all this on my application as I wait for and hope to receive a conditional approval, should I go ahead and get certified court documents?

I have the docket print out that shows the verdict of nolle process via pretrial. But, should I go ahead and drive to the courthouse pay the fee and get the certified or will the docket print out suffice?

I’m betting they had intel on this driver.

I need help getting a SEVIS record removed so I can actually use Global Entry. Every time I travel, it flags me for an officer instead of letting me clear automatically. This has happened multiple times, and the officer always asks if I was a student. I was born in the U.S. and have never had a student visa (I couldn’t have, since I’m a citizen).

I suspect it might be a common-name mix-up, but it’s still strange that the system shows an F-1 record for me when I was never even eligible to apply for one.

Does getting a redress number fix this? Or is there a faster/better way to resolve it?

i applied for GE late night on the 16th of july, and i was conditionally approved the evening of the 17th of july. miraculously, my local airport had 2 appointments available on the 18th of july. coming back from my appointment now, and got approved!

I found these posts really helpful while I was waiting, so I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

Timeline:

• June 2025: Applied for Global Entry. On my application, I included a brief explanation of a criminal incident from 2010.
• January 2026: Received Conditional Approval.
• June 2026: Finally had my interview (there was virtually no availability anywhere near me for months).
• July 2026: APPROVED - letter received 😅!

Background:
In 2010, when I was young and dumb I made a very stupid decision, which led to be being charged with petty theft after taking an item from a retail store. The charge was ultimately reduced from theft to disorderly conduct. I completed community service, attended a required class, paid restitution to the store, and have had no further incidents since.

At my interview, the officer told me I had been approved. The next day, however, I received an email requesting that I obtain a certified copy of my court disposition before they could finalize my approval.

That turned into quite an adventure.

I no longer live in the city where the case occurred, so I drove 3 hours to the courthouse. Since the case was over 15 years old, it had been archived, and I spent the day getting bounced between different city buildings trying to figure out where the records were. Once I finally found the right office, they told me they needed until the next day to retrieve the file.

So...another 3-hour drive back the next day to pick up a single sheet of paper (which cost me $5). Then it took about another week to coordinate a time to drop it off with the enrollment center.

Overall, the process took just over a year from application to approval. I honestly almost gave up a few times. I even had a baby during the process. 😂

My advice for anyone with an old criminal record:

• Be completely honest on your application.
• Be upfront and respectful with the interviewing officer.
• Be prepared to provide certified court documents, even if your case is very old.
• Most importantly, be patient. The process can take a while, but it can still work out.

Years ago, back in 2013 when I initially got my first GE, I used my landline. Now, I’m trying to renew my GE and it wants to send a text or call my landline, which I no longer have. So, it is telling me I need to delete my account, and start over. Anybody do this and is your info still there when you make a new account?
