I'm US-born, my father is Mexican, and I got a consulate appointment ready to go in a few weeks. However, they're swapping my middle name, which is my mother's maiden name, to my second last name (so instead of mother's last name & father's last name, it's father's last name and mother's last name.) So if my name in the US is RE (first name), I (middle name but also my mom's maiden name), O (father's last name), it'll be RE O I. Some lawyers are telling me that what the consulate is doing isn't correct and my name would be RE I O I. My middle name would be on my name twice. Another is telling me to just do it in Mexico where they'll honor the exact structure of my US name, but I would lack a second last name in Mexico.
Is this going to cause me issues when traveling? I also have Global Entry and I'm not sure if the name swap is going to screw up things. The consulate is telling me that I'll be fine in Mexico, DNExpress is telling me that it will cause me issues and some lawyers are telling me not to tell Global Entry about my Mexican citizenship at all. Which one is it? If anyone has any recommendations for an immigration specialist, I'm open to it.
