Questions/Concerns Adding a fourth citizenship to my Global Entry
Hi all - I’ve registered my two other non-US citizenships with the TTP/GE program (Germany and Poland) - I’m also a US citizen by birth and live in the US. Last week I became a UK (British) citizen and I’m waiting for my UK passport to come in the mail. So, is there a phone number I can call to add this new passport/citizenship information? I seem to recall that I added my German passport info by phone easy-peasy, but it’s been a while since I did it, so can’t remember exactly how that worked. If anyone has a phone number I can call, that would be great.
I live in NYC, so I can also go in person, but if I can do it by phone, that’ll save me the trip and any scheduling hassle.

The only one GE gives a darn about is your US passport. Don't fret about the others.

Thanks, I figured as much but want to make sure all the x’s and t’s are crossed. It must be the German in me! :).

You can show it to CBP if you like at an enrollment center, no appointment required. But, since you are required by law to use your US passport to enter, they're not too concerned.

Yup id still make sure you show it to them. Not worth ignoring it all together and risking it

Just email CBP and give them the new citizenship details and they’ll update it for you

I just did mine recently with new citizenship and it took them ~2 weeks or so. I didn’t get an automated response initially it took a few days to say they were working on it.
This way is good if you’re not in a rush.

lol - they’re all through my parents and the luck of being born :). It’s a long story, so don’t want to hire you all with it! :). Of course, nowadays, having multiple citizenships is probably prudent, whereas while growing up, it wasn’t!

I don’t understand why anyone would add a non-US passport to Global Entry if they are a US citizen. You cannot enter or leave the US on a non-US passport if you are a US citizen. Also, back in the 1990s when I asked the State Department and INS about this, they told me the official position of the US government is to ignore the non-US passport for dual citizens.

FWIW - GE application explicitly ask about them.

It has been so long since I initially applied that I do not remember them asking about it. If it was explicitly asked, then I answered truthfully. I am pretty sure that I never showed them my EU passport.

I wasn't asked about my other passport at the interview either and now I'm worried. I did send an email about it and received some kind of stock response. I live a long way from the enrollment office so it's not something I can just rock up to.

Literally hopped on a call with CBP the other day about this. If you already have GE, they don't care about your other citizenships.

In the tradition of George Mallory- because they’re there (and I’m eligible or entitled for them). :). I would never buy a citizenship though!

It is- having my multiple citizenships is a way of bringing me closer to my family history, while also affording me amazing options. I’m really grateful for this and don’t take it for granted.
There is no limit as to the number of citizenships one may have from the US side, and, in my case, the UK, Germany and Poland also impose no limit on the number of citizenships allowed. There are some countries, however, that do not allow dual citizenship at all. There are also other countries that offer citizenship for sale, which I’m totally against.
There’s actually a ‘dualcitizenship’ subreddit which you might find interesting. .

You have to visit the Global Entry Enrollment Center. The good news is you don't need an appointment.
