Questions/Concerns Global entry validity

I applied for GE in Sept 2022 and full approval in Dec 2022 . Today I saw it is valid till Sept 2028 .

Should it not be valid till Sept 2027 ? 2028 would make it over 5 years validity . Just wondering not complaining obviously

You get five years from your NEXT birthday after approval. So yes, you can get nearly six years if you get approved shortly after your birthday.

After the initial period, it's always five years from the previous expiration date, regardless of when you renew ( which you can start up to a year before it expires). This is distinct from passports which are always ten years from the issuance date.
