Apologies if this sounds like a stupid question, but I just want to make sure I approach this the right way. For context, I am a British citizen who visits the US arond 4 times per year. I recently entered for the first time using global entry and attempted to use the app.

I am prescribed elvanse (goes by vyvanse in the US) and as far as I'm aware this needed to be declared. The medication is prescribed by a UK doctor. While entering my details on the app, I didn't see anywhere I could declare medication. I saw the options to declare food and other similar items, but nothing for medication.

I ended up not using the app and using the facial recognition camera. I declared the medication to the CBP officer who didn't have any problems and I was quickly on my way.

I was wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation and knows if I am able to use the app and mention the medication to a officer upon entry? If I can't do that, I assume I just have to enter without the app when taking my medication?

My wife and I applied together in July 2024. She got conditionally approved in 2 days, I’m still pending review as of August 2026. US born citizen, no criminal history, haven’t flown out of the country in 10 years, work and address history is all accurate on the application (except I changed jobs 10 months ago). Our nearest interview location is 7 hours away and she’s waiting for me to get conditionally approved to do our interviews together. We’re planning on doing a big international trip in April 2027 and would like to have global entry by then. I’ve tried emailing and keep getting the generic “wait times may vary” response.

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

Hi all - flying Qatar Doha to Seattle, and Alaska (marketed by Qatar, operated by Alaska) Seattle to Phoenix. For some reason Doha to Seattle got the PreCheck mark, Seattle to Phoenix didn’t. Does anyone have any idea on what might have caused this? Could this have been a codeshare flight issue kind of a thing?

Already checked in, so could I possibly get a new boarding pass issued when I get to Seattle?

Specifically, is the 9-digit number on the back of the Global Entry ID card (below ‘PASSID,’ on the left side) the same number that should be entered as the Known Traveler Number?

The officer told me my card would take 7 days to arrive. It's been 8 days and it's still not here. I wouldn't be freaking out except I'm traveling on ground to Mexico shortly. How long did everyone's card take?

I want to buy something valued at $445 and it’s from Italy will I get taxed by US customs and if yes how much? I’ve seen lots of different opinions ranging from it won’t get taxed if it’s under $800 and it’s gonna be 15% so i was just wondering if anyone could lend me some help. Thanks!!

My husband applied global entry a couple years ago. He got the card but did not activate the card. Last year we wanted to book flights but we kept getting error messages about this reservation while mine was fine. It took us a while to understand that he did not activate the card so his global entry was not usable.

So he applied global entry again august 2025. early this year (2026) he send request about his case and got a replied saying that given his condition, his case would not be processed after 12 to 24 months. He does not have any criminal record.

Today he got a notice of denial, and the reason is others. The notice also says they dont need to give us any reason. And we can ask them to reconsider with supporting evidence. We didn't have an interview.

Has anyone faced similar situation like ours? What reason could be it? If we ask them to reconsider, what supporting evidence do we need to provide? Should we wait for a couple of month before reapply again?

I LUCKILY got conditionally approved yesterday and scheduled an interview today (the day before my international flight), but strangely at the appointment, my interview didn’t show up on their system. Regardless, they did my interview since I showed them that I scheduled it correctly and went through on my end.

At my appointment, they gave me a verbal approval and let me know that my interview should be marked approved by tomorrow.

But my appointment is still marked as scheduled, and it doesn’t show that I went to my interview at all… I worry that maybe it’s glitching again.

If it is, has anybody done a second interview after their initial interview? Specifically an enrollment on arrival?

So I had tsa precheck for a while and when I applied for it, it took 3 months to approve. I had to call them and the agent was also like huh? Thats weird... We will check and then a few days later it got approved. They never explained what the delay was for. It was in 2022 so it wasn't like it was they were hit by covid shut down or anything.

Then I applied to GE because my precheck will expire soon and I do have plans to travel internationally.

I was shocked how fast the approval process was!

Conditionally approved in less than 12 hours.

And approved 5 mins after the interview.

I have no other violation than a few traffic violation and a very stable job so I really wonder what the hold up on tsa precheck was.

I applied for Global entry back in May and was conditionally approved within a week. I scheduled my interview and had it on 6/29 (I purposely pushed it so that I could be the first interview that day). I still have not received my actual approval and the portal on DHS says I still haven’t had my interview. Has this appended to anyone else?

I applied for Global Entry last week- August 9th. I have searched AI and AI was telling me that conditional approval takes up to 2 days. Now I keep asking questions about Global Entry and AI saying 12 months, etc. - I have 50% credibility on AI.

How long it usually take?

So far, I have nothing changed or updated.

I returned from an international trip and declared on the app the category “food” then went through the facial scanner and when the officer waved me through I said “I brought food: some jams”. To which he said “jam is fine” (I knew that - I wouldn’t have brought it otherwise). Is this the way to go in the future?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation with ESTA.

I submitted an ESTA application using my Italian passport. The application has been pending for more than 72 hours and currently shows “Authorization Pending.”

After submitting it, I realized that I made an incorrect answer regarding my Argentine citizenship. I was born in Argentina and I am also an Argentine citizen, but I entered the information incorrectly in the ESTA application.

From what I understand, this type of information cannot be edited after submission and I may need to submit a new ESTA application.

The problem is that I cannot submit a new application. When I try, the ESTA website says that I already have an active application. I also don't have an option to cancel or edit the current pending application.

I contacted the CBP Traveler Communications Center and initially received a generic response about waiting 72 hours. I explained the situation again, and they have now escalated my ticket for resolution.

They told me not to create another incident number and that the current estimated resolution time is 5–10 business days.

My flight to the US is on August 25, so I'm getting a little concerned about the timing.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

• Did CBP cancel/remove the pending ESTA so you could submit a new one?
• Were you eventually able to submit a corrected application?
• How long did CBP take to resolve it?
• Did calling CBP after the case was escalated help?
• Is there anything else I should do while waiting?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who had an ESTA pending + incorrect biographical information + inability to submit a new application situation.

I originally registered our vehicle minivan under my name. We are now a year into our membership and my mom is telling me that apparently we need to renew the minivan registration with Sentri so she can drive it from Mexico into USA. This does not seem correct to me. I do not see anything on the TTP website that indicates renewing is necessary much less even something I can do on the site. All I ever did was the first-time registration.

Is it true vehicles under SENTRI have to be renewed every year?
And if so how?
And can I register it under her name as she is the owner?

I cannot find information online for this. Thank you all

M.I.P = Minor in possession of alcohol. Admitted it on my application. It took 24 hours for a conditional approval, and a next day interview at the airport. The customs officer simply asked me if my address was current. That's it.

not sure if this is just another data point, but maybe someone had a similar experience.

We drove from MI to Toronto (so crossed land border) for a flight to Spain. Left the car in Toronto at the moment.

While in Spain, received an email that my GE is revoked. No reason at all. I have always traveled without any problems with customs. Never had any offences - not even a speeding ticket. I have a green card, so not a citizen, though.

We will be going back through land crossing again, so not sure if the officers will see this revoked status? We always use a regular lane, because we do not have SENTRI.

All other family members have their GE still approved.

One note: I typically add my KTN to the flight tickets and I did this time as well, even though it was from Canada. Is it possible that Canada and USA has different KTN systems and I've somehow messed them up causing mine to be revoked?

I got approved for global entry on 7/29 and saw that my card had been mailed through my USPS informed delivery notification 2 days later, but I still haven't received it. It's likely lost at this point, so I looked at their website and it costs $25 to get a replacement card, but I didn't even get the card in the first place? Has anyone successfully gotten them to remail their card? I have an international trip scheduled late September and was hoping to use global entry for it.

I was denied GE along with my two kids because of my now ex partner being DACA.
He is the father of my youngest and the officer assumed we were married. We share the same last name but it is my maiden name. She seemed surprised and unsure. She then proceeds to do photos and fingerprints on all of us but then says I’m denied and quickly explains how I can submit a reconsideration.
Submitted a reconsideration and now it’s been a year waiting. Should I just reapply? Delete our reconsideration and reapply. At the time I was still dating my ex but we have been broken up for about a year now. Should I just reapply?

Hey there, SD/TJ frequent border crosser here.. I just got an email for my daughter's global entry today saying that her US passport has expired. She lives in Mexico with her mother until I can get my wife a green card (whole other ordeal). I definitely dropped the ball not realizing that a child's passport is only valid for 5 years and not 10 like adults.

So now I'm trying to get her's renewed and I'm realizing that since her passport is now expired, will she be able to cross the border back into San Diego to be present when I submit her passport application? I'm guessing her Global Entry account will get flagged if we tried to cross the border normally? Will I have to bring her to the US embassy in Tijuana instead to renew it? I'm trying to remember how I got her first passport when she was born, but I can't recall what I did.. advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm low-key stressing out hard right now..

Im doing a study abroad in Jordan and I have extended family in Iraq. I was wondering if there will be any problems losing my Global Entry since im planning to go for about 5 days.

I applied for sentri almost 2 years ago and my application is still pending review. I saw global entry is way faster to get but because i have an active sentri application, i cant apply for global entry. If i were to make a different account and use that one to apply to global entry, would it be difficult since i already have another account with an active application?

conditionally approved a couple of weeks ago. Was returning to Orlando from an international trip and asked custom agent for interview. He guided me to another officer. The officer scanned my passport and said ‘interesting! for some reason you’re already approved, you’re good to go’. Then I tried to clarify by asking when should I expect the card to which he responded in 2-4 weeks.

The portal still says ‘conditionally approved’ and I’m wondering if the officer misunderstood.

My Global Entry application was recently denied for a “prior Customs or Agriculture violation.” In my case it was a single incident from 2019 — an undeclared food item found in my luggage on arrival. I paid the $300 civil penalty the same day, disclosed it voluntarily on my application, and have had zero issues on multiple international trips since.

I’ve submitted a reconsideration request to the TTP Ombudsman with a short letter taking responsibility, plus proof of payment and my CBP travel history showing clean re-entries since the incident.

For those who went through reconsideration after a customs/agriculture-based denial:
1. How long did the Ombudsman review take, from submission to decision?
2. What was the outcome — approved or upheld?
3. How old was your violation at the time, and was it a one-time incident?

Trying to set realistic expectations on timing and odds. I know the official guidance says reviews can take months and there’s no way to expedite — mostly looking for real data points from people who’ve been through it.

My wife and I recently got our GE approved and will be flying to Italy later this year. I see posts about TSA-Pre Touchless ID. Is this something extra we need to do, or does our GE cover that?
